  1. Filthy redcoats!! In the build, my favorite part is probably the roof Nice try at forced perspective, but I think you've gotten the wrong parts of the picture out of focus (did you do the blurryness digitally in the computer instead of with the camera...?) It is important to the illusion that everything in the foreground is fairly in focus and that the blurryness feels natural.
  2. Nice tavern! I like how the irregularly placed windows give it a look of a building which has evolved around it's interior The surroundings are very nice as well, I like how the modularity is hinting at things to come! However I think I would recommend a bit more detailing on the ground.
  3. Nice vignettes! I especially love the atmosphere with that small stone carving The city scene is also good. (Where is that three-arched window from...??) Regarding the photography I think the perspectives would be significantly improved if you were to step back the camera a bit and zoom in instead. (Now the part closer to the camera is "magnified" too much in my taste)
  4. Great rendition of this vital place in Breshaun! I like the busy feeling with all the minifigs
  5. Impressive! As we are used to seeing from you
  6. Really strong entry, the fortifications look great! Good minifig posing as well. A suggestion would be to build the cutoff edges in the same color as the ground, tan in this case.
  7. Excellent interior detailing and great minifigs as usual! The story is also very good
  8. I knew from the start that it was a quest unlikely to succeed... Who have heard of a rat in uniform?
  9. Impressive! Who has built that awesome dark red castle?
  10. Is the name decided now then...?
  11. Looks promising! Very nice with a SNOTed deck
  12. Excellent stone detailing and lovely floor A suggestion would be to build the wall twice as thick to block the light coming through the cracks around some of the parts.
  13. Very suitable store!
  14. Nice scenes
  15. Nice busy scene! Some suggestions for improvements would be studless floor and tables, as well as doing the background removal a bit less uneven at the edges.
  16. Wow, that's an imposing castle front! I like the shapes you've accomplished a lot Some nitpicking is that I think somehow the tiled walls look "too clean" and with a bit too pronounced 2x2 patterns, maybe some 1x2 plates with studs out or something else would have given a tad more texture and broken up the patterns a bit?
  17. Nice to see more builders picking up the half-stud wall technique! Are we establishing an Oleander building style here?
  18. Nice hull shaping! The mast however looks a bit too thick and short to me...? Good job with the photography, that backdrop is perfect!
  19. Fantastic raft
  20. Great job! I definitely agree that going smaller and more detailed was the right thing to do
  21. Nice build, I like when people make cutaway vignettes in "proper minifig scale" and hint at a greater structure instead of the downsized entire buildings you typically see in MOCs. The roof beams look good overall, but I think it would have been even better without the exposed "antistuds", maybe turning the ceiling and beams upside down and tile the surfaces would be possible another time? (At least if the outside is to be ignored) Your photography is improving
  22. Very nice house! Looks entirely suitable in an established but still fairly young settlement. I also like the playable feel of it, reminds me of the MMV houses (Color balance can be easily corrected in the computer, at least as long as you have something white or gray to calibrate with (don't use lego bricks however). I used to use a folded white paper and now I've upgraded to a proper 18% gray card )
  23. Great intiative! Since I'm not keeping up with the inflow of builds (and I assume that goes for other builders with limited time and especially newcomers later), some way of keeping track of them is vital in the long run. Two thoughts after seeing the failure with the Guilds of Histoica wiki: - This system must be easy to run and administer to keep updated. Some way for the builders to enter the builds themselves is good, but for consistency maybe someone (one from each land?) should be responsible to enter all builds reported in the freebuild thread? - Don't burden the system with too many fancy interface solutions which will get hard to keep up in the long run. Keep it simple and functional!
