  1. Your big scale axles were the biggest inspiration for me to get back to Lego and start MOCing. Sorry for offing, I just wanted you to know
  2. I knew this builder and his models and I love them. I remember the thread about the Honda Civic, maybe he posts here?
  3. Yes, but the shape of the front suspension isn't perfect. For TLG, it seems that the looks is much more important than the functionality.
  4. Awesome model! As for the steering, you may think that it's easier to add steering and suspension to an UCS sized model, since there is plenty of place. But with size mass comes too, and the arm of the Tumbler is quite thin.
  5. Let me guess, your steering links are not parallel with the wheels' axles. That means you have an inverse Ackermann geometry, meaning the outer wheel turns more instead of less. Either make the steering links at least parallel, or place the rack and links between the front and rear axle. I see this mistake quite a lot of times.
  6. Ok, I agree. The TLCB post what freaked me out a bit.
  7. I guess there are many. It's basically the simplest form of "voxelization" (There's an algorithm for that called "marching cube"), I guess there are plugins for LDraw (like 2D mosaics) The model itself is awesome and all, but I honestly don't get the hype around this model. A Lego car that can't even roll? A Lego car that uses bricks in the age of sloped and smooth parts? And The Lego Car Blog says it's the most awesome Lego car ever? There's simply nothing Lego in this model. I'm speechless.
  8. Thanks for the comments! I'm aware of the Germany issue, it's funny that the home of DTM and Audi is the only country where the video in unavailable. I'll upload a silent version the next week.
  9. Those wheels are awesome. What a coincidence, I just started to build a tumbler (And I'm using Unimog wheels too.)
  10. Um, are you talking about not achieving the goal till the deadline? The money will be pulled off your credit card only if the project succeeds on Kickstarter.
  11. Just use grey. I wasn't using them very consistently.
  12. The modules are grouped in LDD, so simply build the modules separately (select group, select inverse then hide everything else but the group), then assemble them. Start with assembling the monococque with the rear suspension, then add the transmission. After these, the order is pretty straightforward. The modules should be very easy to build, only the monococque may be a bit tricky.
  13. Tyler Reid has so few views? I thought he's one of the most famous car builders. He's up on MOCpages too.
  14. It's interesting that you still use the 3L axle with stop instead of the new 2Lpin+axle part. Is there a reason for that? Maybe just easier assembly?
  15. That's why I offer LDDs and instructions for free
  16. I agree and don't agree at the same time. Maybe there should be a separate topic for true legends and a topic for notable MOCs. I see point in notable MOCS, because most people who would visit the true HoF topic on Eurobricks knows all the legends anyway, but even regular members can miss awesome models that aren't buzzed. Or at least apply some grouping. For example all the Tug-boats could go in one post instead of occupying 4. But It's pretty hard to decide what to put in a real hall of fame. The number of fan builds or the occurrence or references of a model in blogs?
  17. I cried of laughing, the hamster really froze.
  18. I don't understand this. You are saying that the the spirals wouldn't match with 2L length. But gear racks (10 teeth distributed over 4 studs) are in system (match perfectly) and they (should) have the same profile as the worm gear since they are in the same gear system (same modulus). EDIT: now that I think about it, the gear racks and worm gears cannot be made with the same modulus as the gears have, just approximately, since gears roll on racks, so PI comes into play With a 8t gear, one revolution means 3,2 studs of gear rack movement (8t/10t*4studs) in the Lego system. While with realistic teeth the rack should move 3,14 studs (since the 8t gear has 1-stud pitch diameter) Okay Lipko, thanks
  19. Maybe you could try not sinking the rear lights so you can circumvent the hole problem.
