Amazing cars Paul. It looks like these are less part-heavy, and that's a good thing in my opinion. The other functions, doors and stuff, are manual? Did you think about other functions for the cars? I can't name any right now, but maybe you would have thought of some.

No, you're right about that. I just started late, and have been very busy with other stuff.

So, i'm building my TC6 entry, but this week is very busy for me. I'm 80% done with the build, but i'm afraid i wont make it before the deadline. Is it possible to postpone it a week? Maybe there are other builders who want the same?

Ok, i understand. Thanks for the explanation. Still, for the untrained eye it looks like they are all the same, and just a different wing design (or for that matter, different looks of a formula 1 car) don't justify a buy. (for me it won't) Maybe it's that the rebel fighters/bombers look so much different from each other, that it stands out that the empire all look alike. -

So, i'm not a lego star wars collector, but i really do not understand all these TIE variants. It's just the same spacecraft with different wing designs. What's the deal with all these types, and why would you collect anything else than one TIE fighter? -

Nice video. Must be an awful lot of work for such a big set. What I like about these kind of videos is that it gives a good view on the set. If you added some close-up shots of the minifigs and the play functions, you would have a complete review.- 11 replies

42040 Fire Plane
captainmib replied to timtimgo87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks a lot like 42025. Same functions and building techniques. Nice small plane though. Are those black toggle joints on the window? And are they not connected? Seems a bit weird. -
What a beauty. This is the kind of build I would like to see as a medium/small set from lego. Any chance for instructions?

What an amazing set this is. It will be a joy to build. I think this is almost a gift from LEGO to us: look at all the shit they put in there - extra tires, suspension, new pneumatics, lots of details. Goes to the top of my wishlist straight.

How do you make these nice and clean proportions. I'd like to try that. Nice entry, and I had the same thought: this has to be a piterx entry -
Congratulations winners! First place was well deserved. Thanks for all the people voting for my entry, but i see i need to step up my game a bit. Anyway, nice contest, lots of nice entries. Thanks Ted/Jim for making things possible.

26. Helix - Intermeshing Police Helicopter and Functions: - Spinning rotors, controled by rear rotor - Retractable landing gear, controled by grey axle connector on the right Optical: - Cockpit with seats, steps and instruments - Flashlights on front and back topic: link Leftover
-
Hello all. This is my entry for the [TC5] competition: Helix, a Police Helicopter with intermeshing rotors. This build is a combination of 42002 and 42020. and After some trial and error, this is what I came up with: Functions: - Spinning rotors, controled by rear rotor - Retractable landing gear, controled by grey axle connector on the right Optical: - Cockpit with seats, steps and instruments - Flashlights on front and back Build: The angle for the intermeshing rotors is created with both the pin connector blocks. Almost all gears in both sets are needed here to create the intermeshing rotor system. I also wanted a retractable landing gear. It has seen several build, but the final system is an easy but realiable sliding system. (controled by the grey axle connector). Testing: Testing of this creation is done by my two year old daughter. She loved the spinning of the rotors. No bricks were harmed during testing. Will add more pictures later. Cheers or comments most welcome. Thanks for reading!

I really hope 42039 is a nice set. The prelim pictures looked nice, the finished model looked different, so now i'm hoping the final product is a surprise in the positive way. I really like these kind of racing cars (le mans etc.). Stop teasing us Sariel! -
