Tomik's Creations
captainmib replied to Tomik's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, great alternate. I like it that you shared the thought and building proces, interesting to see and read. Everytime I see an alternate / C-model I think there is so much more possible with lego than just buying new sets everytime. It's like you discover a different lego world or something :-)- 165 replies

I build the B-model on my holiday, and it's an impressive model. I like the functionality of it, and the fact that it contains two vehicles. It's really original as B-model. I already played more with it than with the A-model. Another thing that caught my eye was the huge amount of gears you have left after building the B-model, which shows that this is also a really great parts-pack. Btw Blackbird, your pictures are not working for me.

The price of this set (42030) at the lego shop, i mean, what are they thinking... US price = $ 250 = € 185 NL price = € 250 = $ 337 DE price = € 220 = $ 296 You tell me how this set is worth € 65 more only because i live in the Netherlands? And i'm sure the Americans here are not going to pay $ 337 for this. The US price is getting close to what I want to pay for this set...

Awesome car moc you made there. Love the orange color, and you spend a lot of time making that video. Great job. Are you planning any instructions or sharing some LDD file? I love seeing that every car moc brings new ways on building windows. Your solution is nice and flexible, using the universal joints.

That is one three really nice entry's you made. Really good that you squeezed in so many functions and kept it good looking.

[MINI] WIP Mini 8109
captainmib replied to captainmib's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No, you can lift the bed with your hands by grabbing the yellow beam or black twelve tooth gear. . I don't no if adding an actuator will add much to the fun. Thanks for all the nice comments! -

[MINI] Crop Duster

Yes that's what i meant owie. Do you have any flexible parts to make the cockpit shape a little curvier? Can save you some parts as well. -
[MINI] WIP Mini 8109
captainmib replied to captainmib's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, that's why i made the topic now, didnt want that to happen... I actually had some other ideas, but the fun in this contest is that you need to think REALLY SIMPLE. I'm building stuff in my mind that is way to complicated, but this is coming along nice. I even have parts left atm... -
[MINI] Crop Duster

Turn prop with finger. Maybe you can make the wingtips less part intensive, you are using a lot of parts to make the shape at the front. Maybe use a halfbeam curve 3x5 to create the wingtip shape. -

Technic 2H2014 Reviews
captainmib replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Amazing video review Sariel. Nice job on all the elements you put into this video. On the set itself, i think it looks amazing, and seeing it drive around makes me want it even more. Although this set has some flaws, for me it's a set i really want to have. I compare it to 9398, which i didn't buy because of the looks, and the lack of functionality. I think this set has more of both. -
Optimus prime
captainmib replied to tuanzi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very very nice model. Must be a real pain to build, to make all the right shapes and being able to transform. Looks great as a truck and as robot. -
My participation in this great [MINI] contest, i'm building a mini 8109. [updated] It has the following functions: - Steering (hog) - Sliding trailer-bed - Lifting both rear axles to ease the loading of vehicles - winch on the trailer-bed. - adjustable seats Part-count: - 195 I'm happy with the result. There is still time left for adjustments, but I'm pleased with the overall result. More pictures: Here is an early LDD model. I started this after i made some ideas with real lego's to see if the partcount is anywhere near 200 parts. So far the score is 174 bricks.

Anybody here attending Brickfair?
captainmib replied to drdesignz's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
What a bunch of butthurt's. Really sounds like they need to like you, otherwise you're going to do it wrong, no matter what. And since when can someone else dictate how you should build your moc? Thanks for the answer. Something that should be really fun, becomes awful. I see why you are not going anymore. -
