  1. Agreed that there are so many great ones this time around. Even more of a shame that they won't get made. I've seen a few people make Tales of the Space Age, and could see this being made as it's something cool that fits well on a shelf. The Aladdin: Friend Like Me set looks great, and is then even better with the movement it offers. Probably won't get made, but it's fabulous and they've not done it. Maybe Disney limits too much new Genie merchandise, or is the row long enough in the past that it's OK? Steampunk Airship, Living on the Edge, Chip 'N Dale, and Jules Verne's Nautilus are all wonderful, but may all suffer from stability issues and so not translate into elegant sets, which might hold them back. Oh, and would love either of the forestmen ones, but we know that it won't happen. Sigh.
  2. Agreed. I'd love to see a train station in Friends, Creator Expert, or that Ideas submission. Any of them would be great. The City station feels so basic. Most of the pieces go into the bus and service vehicle, which, to be fair, look good, but could easily come in another set (or be something on their own). The station itself is just a slightly larger version of the basic platform from the train set. Although there are new stations being built near me and they are also very basic. Shame though. Missed opportunity.
  3. Ha ha ha ha! Someone at LEGO is surely the biggest troll in the world?
  4. Me three. Pleased that StoneWars are keeping up their monthly list of new and interesting pieces. I need to go through all this and make a list for when, hopefully, they are all available. So many good things that would be great through B&P, but not worth getting a whole set for.
  5. Jay has a good theory about the new BAM torsos being for a new faction - white or silver falcons. Nice idea, although they'd have to be significant in some way to bring in something new when there are so many existing ones. https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/are-lego-introducing-a-new-castle-faction-the-white-falcons/
  6. I think the sharks without eyes are supposed to represent that they're models, not real sharks. Shame though, as it's not hard to suspend your disbelief on this, but it makes them more versatile. May be good for shark statues? Have to say, I love the bath tub and duckie!
  7. Good to get Goofy and Pluto in lower priced sets. They look good too.
  8. Nice to see so many animals across the sets. It's something that Friends does really well, and my daughter loves it. City starting to catch up a little.
  9. The sheep's fleece is a great idea. Pleased that they included two piglets. And the dark orange chickens look great too.
  10. The theatre is excellent! Continues to add to my opinion that Friends is the best LEGO theme. It covers everything really well. The red curtains look like they're made of cloth, but also have a stud in the corner, which is curious.
  11. If that's correct, then it's astonishing value, relatively.
  12. The worry is that there will only be a single piglet in the set, making it expensive to get a few, as you would normally find them.
  13. Eesh. That's harsh that parts availability has changed on you. Hope it didn't affect things too much. The model looks great, and I really hope it makes it through. It's so clever.
  14. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I do hope they come onto Bricks & Pieces. Or there are quite a few in whatever set they appear in.
  15. Oh wow, I've just seen the updated waterfall. It looks much better now that the entire waterfall moves, rather than just some studs behind trans blue pieces. So that's another one to consider. Hmmm...
  16. Wow, they're pricey. To be expected, given that they are so large, but still impressively expensive. I thought/hoped the 1950s diner would be cheaper. There are seven of the nine that I would be delighted to get, but maybe I should root for the other two so I don't have to choose between more of them! Decisions, decisions on what to try and get.
  17. I saw that. It was really very well done. In terms of additional sets, is there anything at all they could do that would be more popular and generate more revenue than the current time machine? I'd love some minifigure scale sets, but at least one would have to include the time machine, which might dent sales of the big one (could just add to it though). And then you've got the play scale market of kids and some adults, which isn't as big of an overlap with BTTF as the 18+ model. If they do it, it would probably be sensible for them to wait a couple of years. Hope I'm wrong though.
  18. There were instances of people getting a duplicate in the six packs, but I suspect that's a packing error, rather than intentional or due to random assortment.
  19. Probably needs it's own, new thread, but it's fun to revive old ones. There's rumors on Instagram about a LEGO Atari set coming out this summer for $200. Would they just do the same as the NES? Hopefully it's something different. More playable. Pong? Space Invaders? Ms Pac-Man? Frogger?!
  20. Ha! I didn't think there was even a chance of that happening, so didn't even consider using it as an option.
  21. Depends how compatible you want it to be. Ninjago City, Ninjago City Docks, and Ninjago City Gardens all use the same connection points. As does The Daily Bugle (with a small modification). That's about it for 32 stud deep sets. But the Creator 3 in 1 buildings use a similar system of connection. They aren't on the same scale, but many mod them to connect. The Friends Main Street Buildings set (41704) does the same, and you could easily modify any number of Friends or City sets into a modular system. But they're all open back. It depends how far you want to take it. Then there are the alt builds of Creator Expert modulars (many on Rebrickable) that use exactly the same system of connection as the standard modular buildings. It's a cost effective way to get more modulars, compared with buying retired sets or creating custom MOCs where piece acquisition can be pricy.
  22. What will happen first? Bricks & Pieces reopen, Bricklink Designer Program round 2 sets delivered, or BDP round 3 sets for sale? Or, wildcard moment, Hasbro reveals that it's going to buy LEGO, which is why the Optimus Prime set is going to happen this year?
  23. Just as my last Bricks & Pieces order (March 10) has arrived today, they have paused it. Oh well, I've not had time to plan out the parts I need for a couple of planned MOCs, so not personally in any rush for them to open. But I do hope it comes back online soon, and with the 2022 new pieces too.
  24. I just don't see how a service that has been running for so long, for such a large company, is causing them so many problems. But at the same time, I can see that Bricks and Pieces wasn't at all profitable, and so it was either change it or lose it. But the apparent lack of planning, testing, or structure to it is so odd. This isn't a service that needs to be new or one that requires a punt or risk. It's stable and long-lived. Just bizarre.
