  1. Promobricks are saying the roller coaster is a lift drop coaster, with two loops and a yellow track. They've done a simple sketch of it. Exciting! https://www.promobricks.de/lego-10303-achterbahn-vorschau/136996/
  2. Probably more on the wishful thinking side. Goats are a meme in the AFOL community, but even then it's somewhat niche, and the expected audience for this will be (we all probably hope) wider than that. So exclusive goats likely won't be a big draw for many, and therefore there's no need to delay their use in other sets, when several suitable farm sets have been made. But, until we know for sure, you may be right, so there's always hope. Ah, that might be more accurate, thanks!
  3. Optimus Prime is a June release, so they've revealed it a few weeks early. I'd expect a release at some point in July, but could be the middle or the end of the month. Leaks may happen earlier though.
  4. After seeing the Brickset review and Tiago's on YouTube, I think it looks better. The colors feel better and not as garish as they looked on the Promobeicks/BB images. I like it. Just the window issue, which Brickset pointed out too. But very nice overall.
  5. Only once per day?! Agreed. If there was going to be a goat, we would have seen it in another set by now. The designers specifically said that they wanted to do it for the Jurassic Park gate set, and it was too low volume for them to get the budget for it. Sheep, lambs, piglets, and cows feel good enough to me. If there wasn't a goat all those years ago, it wouldn't be top of many lists to get in LEGO form now.
  6. I think I agree. It just feels a bit... bland? I understand that they're going for the classic look, but is it too basic at this scale? Would some more detailing spoil it? Or maybe it's the proportions of the windscreen windows - and window proportions are often an issue with LEGO. Or maybe it's just that I'm a lot older and modern media is less flat and brightly coloured as it was back in the day. Would like to see some more reviews and images of it.
  7. It may be a stupid idea to you, but, honestly, it's a stroke of marketing genius from LEGO. Just by putting in two axle hole bricks they can suggest to people that they buy two sets instead of one. Very few would buy a single set at $260, but loads will buy it at $130 and a decent number will buy two to put them together (and feel better about the $130 per set price point). Bit cynical, but also genius marketing move. I personally thing half the pyramid is good, as it will fit better on shelves and allows the whole scene to be much larger and more detailed than otherwise.
  8. I typically recycle boxes, so I can wait for a standard version. It looks good so far, but will the internals be anything different from previously?
  9. I do. I generally don't keep boxes, so it's nice to have decent artwork on the manuals. That looks like a bootleg manual, not anything official. Such a strange design decision. Especially to have a white cover with a real photo against a white background, but it's a slightly greyer shade. It just looks terrible. What a shame.
  10. Round 3 is opening May 17 (10:00 PT, 13:00 ET, 19:00 CET). With the larger sets/higher prices compared to previous rounds, I wonder if this will be a bit slower paced. Designer Program 2021 Invitational [BrickLink]
  11. That looks so good. It's not until you see the lifestyle shot that you appreciate just how large it is. Impressive!
  12. I generally don't mind what minifigures come with a set, but thinking about the story that the set needs to tell, you'd surely have to have closer to 20 than 10. Medieval Blacksmith was fine with only four figures, as the story suited that perfectly. Definitely need a lot more for a castle. And that's why Ninjago City, docks, and gardens all had loads. I can see LEGO doing the same thing with the castle.
  13. Managed to get 21311 Voltron for a decent price a few weeks ago, and it's pretty impressive. Is it poor form to put Voltron and Optimus Prime together? Shame that they likely won't be the same size.
  14. Curiously the sets are $130, $180, and $80 in the US. Maybe they're finally matching the currency to level prices, or perhaps as MK is now on Amazon, they're pricing it with discounts in mind? Heavenly Realms feels a fair price. The other two just a bit too expensive. The Dragon the East looks great though.
  15. It's only very recently been released, so it will be around for at least a year. Local LEGO stores appear to be getting these in fairly regularly, but in small numbers, and around me they say that they usually sell out that day, so call ahead if you need it now, or just wait for it to come back in stock online. Have fun with it! Question at the end of one page, didn't see your reply on the next. Oh well. It would be cool to get as a speed champions set, but that was sort of my point. I don't know whether they would do another set that wasn't the time machine. It's by far and away the most iconic thing in the movie, especially for something so old that LEGO will want to shift lots of sets of. They may view other things as a bit niche, but I'd be delighted if they expanded it further with location sets.
  16. It's Nick Vas. And he loves frogs. He did the bonsai tree. Nick Vás on Twitter: "Two of my greatest passions are useless trivia and the LEGO frog. Today I combined those passions by compiling a Bricklist of #LEGO sets designed by me that contain frogs! https://t.co/PbImtyNJcQ https://t.co/Wi9ce9HZTp" / Twitter
  17. Same. It's cool, but it's not something I have nostalgia for, and it doesn't seem as good or as versatile as the pirate ship or castle.
  18. Viking Ship is $120 in the US (feels expensive next to the pirate ship and castle which are still $100). And the Octopus is $35. (Noodle shop is $45). And they're delayed release in the US - only August 1.
  19. And/or to be able to include them in another collection, with other, less-well known teachers/staff? Gives LEGO more sets to produce and fans more opportunities to get a broad range of characters.
  20. You're the General Overall Animal Transcriptionist? I thought that was @Roebuck?
  21. Yes, sarcasm on 2000 pieces, and I realize that there's licensing and be moulds involved. But despite those things, some of then feel very expensive for what they are, and it's just a little worrying, given that I think we're all getting our hopes up for something spectacular, because of such a high price point. Maybe it's just going to be expensive because of all the other global factors. So I'm hoping for something not along the lines of The Heavenly Realms set, which, by comparison, seems good value.
  22. Given some of the pricing of new sets recently, maybe it is €379 but it's only 2000 parts. Star Wars dioramas, Stunz loops, some of the City stuff, and even the Creator Viking Ship feels very pricey. Let's hope it's more MK The Heavenly Realms and less Iron Man armory.
  23. The new Build Your Own Hogwarts polybag looks great. So much variety in a polybag. But then, I really enjoy micro builds like this (love Creationary for the same reason). 30435: Build your own Hogwarts Castle | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database Plus chocolate frog and wizard card. Dumbledore minifig is OK, but shame that he has unprinted legs, rather than the full robe.
  24. Within 10 years, at least 10% will.
