10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
RichardGoring replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The interior looks great too. Well, it might do, once we actually get a decent view of it, and not a blurry, distorted, shaky camera! The working water wheel is nice. Definitely some good play things in there. I like the nod to the hidden outpost - one of my favourite sets.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

Ooh. Here go! Fabulous! It looks cool when closed up. But I wish they'd stop using this terrible 'dot cam'. It's such poor quality.- 2,976 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
What a shame that most of the screen time it had was on a really poor quality hand held mini cam. For no benefit to the show either, just a gimmick, that was largely ignored. Looks great though. Glad they've given it the impression of four floors, even though it's only three. -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

Or that is not going to be revealed until August. Or it's not a real set at all and the rumors have been wrong! Or you're in a fever dream and it's actually March, not June!!- 2,976 replies

This is the most fabulous build. Totally awesome. I hope you submit it to Ideas, and that they approve it.

Mine is currently covered in an additional 2500 flowers for a springtime look, plus a lighting kit. I'd prefer not to break it apart. But I also have another, so would use that. I think I'd go for brown for the tree to be honest. I know, I know, but at that size it would feel like too much black. I also only ever had 6066 Camouflaged Outpost as a kid, and the tree parts of that always looked more like overgrowth than a tree because of the battlements in black too. But yes, blue roofs. Not really sure. It's just a good, sturdy tree structure, with decent levels and access. You could easily add fortifications to a chunk of it. Perhaps the tree is the main tower in a corner and then a small area built off it around the base too. Lookout tower poking out the top. Just something to rival the castle. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think I'm probably imagining an updated, larger scale version of 6066 Camouflaged Outpost!

In arranging things in our new house, I've just been struck by the thought of combining this with the 21318 Ideas Tree House to make a full Forestmen HQ to rival the 90th anniversary castle. Very tempting.

The 90 day thing was from a CS rep, but was then later denied by LEGO in a statement (through LAN, I think), saying that they didn't have specific plans for when new parts would be available.

It's probably worth waiting until August 2 as it appears the GWP will be coming back then. So may be sets available that you actually want. And the email confirmation of the order and GWP came through. Hurrah!
-
I've been a mature and responsible adult. No, wait, I've stayed up, watching LEGO Masters Australia and dismantling Welcome to Apocalypseburg to make room for the new stuff. Let the ordering begin!
-
He's reporting when the GWP will be available, and he likely will have been told by LEGO along with the press kit that came with the review set. Promobricks has said that it's an August release. And the 90th anniversary is in August. So you combine all three together and it points towards an August release, but nothing is confirmed until LEGO confirms it.

They often have other animals. Scott nearby store had different animals a few weeks ago (there are four stores around the Boston area, plus a Discovery Center).

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just can't imagine that the numbers involved with this are worth them considering the calculations. It's much more likely to be about logistics, either for main set sales/availability or their ability to not overwhelm the existing service and so generate customer dissatisfaction. New parts not being available is probably a smaller pain point than having to wait two months for your order to arrive. -
Jurassic World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hopefully the reintroduction of the three original stars will allow them to do more with them from the original movie. -
There are usually a few that leak out. A store employee gets one, or LEGO affiliate stores get then early. Maybe someone from the factory has a couple or a mistake in shipping an order by LEGO. the point is, the price is super high now because you can't get it any other way and there are limited numbers available. The price will very likely decrease once it goes on general release later this week.
-
It's because it's not available yet. And there are some people in the work willing to pay over the odds for access to something early. In this case could well be reviewers wanting to release their content before anyone else. That can have a big impact on hits, and therefore revenue for them.

The Boston South Shore LEGO Store has the new BAM figures.
-
Yes, that's the standard LEGO Store price. But LEGOLAND Discovery Center shops are different and can/do charge different amounts. Sometimes even on actual sets. My local LEGO stores sell for $10 for three figures too.
-
Popped into the Boston LEGOLAND Discovery Centre earlier and they had the new figures in the BAM wall (including the owl). I didn't get any because I didn't have time to sort through, and they charge $14 for three figures (although they do now offer 1 for $5). I will wait for them to come into the regular stores.
-
You may have received it in its own package, but did something else ship at the same time? I've only ever heard of people getting the GWP shipped if something else was shipping (even if it's in a separate package). The GWP doesn't ship if you've only ordered backordered stuff, until something is ready to ship.
-
Yes, but make sure to order something that's in stock too, as the GWP will only ship with a standard set (not Bricks and Pieces). And if you wait for the backordered item to be in stock, they will probably be out of GWPs.

But that is also pre-release, so there are very few available and those people who will happily pay extra for getting something first/early.- 2,976 replies
