  1. I think you'll find that they're all clones (albeit that some have different phenotypes). For better genetic diversity you'll need to get Friends animals into the mix.
  2. That's a fabulous display. Do you have any specific plans for them all?
  3. I wouldn't normally do this, but as it's Jane Goodall so... it's worth noting that they are apes, not monkeys. You can get monkeys in the recent city sets though - Wildlife Rescue ATV 60300 That's awesome!
  4. The A frame cabin is lovely and should make a great set, although will they likely shrink it down a little? And BTS is a license to print money, although I hope they change the model significantly, because it's currently somewhat dull and lacks detail. Real shame that Snow White and the Seven Dwarves wasn't approved as it was such a nice looking model, but it would also have been very close to the A frame, and maybe it's better to have a non-licensed version.
  5. Really? I think it's very neat. Not a huge amount there, but it feels like there is, which is nice. Good variety of stuff, and the black base looks slick.
  6. I would absolutely vote for that, and buy it and several times over. Not even for the goats, just because it's cool. The new Jane Goodall set looks lovely. Even nicer than the Amelia Earhart one I think. Will LEGO have enough stock to allow me to get it I wonder?
  7. I don't have any Marvel sets, but I'll be getting this. The Goat Boat is terrific.
  8. The non-Hogwarts sets sound good and I'm looking forward to seeing them. I struggle to get excited for the Hogwarts sets as the 2018-2020 sets were so good, the new style still doesn't do it for me. I think they're better play set, to be fair, but don't look as nice. The details are lovely, and where they can be incorporated into the 2018-2020 sets, they're great (like the Chamber of Secrets being a base for the 2018 Great Hall). The price per piece seems high on most of these compared to the last wave. Is that likely just inflation kicking in, or maybe suggesting budget for new moulds or more animals spread across several sets?
  9. Well, that must be the most expensive way to get the new squirrels - I bought the three VIDIYO sets that I don't have as they're on 30% off right now, and I never seem to get the clearance stuff in stores. Nevertheless, five red and three black will be on their way to me in 5-6 weeks (as well as all of the new kittens). Hurrah! Plus a load of other stuff I missed last time.
  10. I look at City sets and I look at Friends sets, and I just don't know how they're supposed to compete. City feels so basic and dull compared to Friends. Friends, to me, really has everything. The sets look great, they have excellent building techniques, there's variety, the play features are great. Although I personally prefer Creator Expert as an AFOL, it just feels like Friends is the embodiment of LEGO overall. I wonder what they'd do if a Friends train set was ever launched. It would likely be awesome. I'd love a Creator Expert train again though.
  11. Ah. Maybe this is also suffering from the Euro area pricing adjustment that LEGO has made. The US prices seem to be most stable, and looking at those, it's not a huge jump.
  12. I'm not convinced by that. It would be nice, but the current 60197 is $160. Factor in 7% inflation increase and you get to $170, so they can either add a little more to the station, or a bit more detail to the train. But I'd be surprised if it were more than the standard three parts to the train.
  13. The dark orange squirrel and some of the kittens are back in stock. I called in to see if I could add them to an order, but once it's marked as In Warehouse, you can't change it. Just confirming what was speculated earlier on editing B&P orders. (I mainly called to change my delivery address on the round 1 BDP order which was achieved and easy).
  14. I know it's an easy way to make a set look good and work well by making it large and expensive, but I'm glad that they've done it for these, as it gives them scope to go beyond something very simple behind a few minifigures, and focus more on the build and function than just the figures. And there is a lot of scope for cool detail and function with Indy sets.
  15. Agreed that it will be brick built. The goats are going to be much larger than a minifigure scale standard goat. It would look terrible if they tried to have something pulled along by two small, regular sized goats. It's very likely brick-built at least in part. I wonder if someone at LEGO is having fun with the goat thing amongst AFOLs and doing everything they possibly can to circle the idea of a goat without actually producing one. Ideas Steamboat Willie, Jurassic Park T. Rex, Ideas Medieval Blacksmith, Mickey farm theme, City farm theme, an actual goat boat from Thor. What next? A series of greatest sport stars BrickHeadz? What's the betting that the new city farm theme will be based around 'Billy Goat Gruff Farm', but it's just the name and they have stickers of goats, but other animals?
  16. I resisted them because they just seemed expensive for what you get, but then found the first four Moments books for $40 total and had to get them. Now, do I get the complete set. Decisions, decisions...
  17. Terrific! Nice work. The strap incorporation is particularly elegant and clever.
  18. Or perhaps a hacked account? Or another test? Certainly surprising. Interesting if true, but as with others I'll believe it when I see it.
  19. It could also well be about market saturation. Nintendo themed sets from LEGO are essentially just printing money. But why over saturate the market, forcing people to choose which to get with the money they have now? Give them Mario first, and they can spend money on it now. And then do Zelda in a few years to continue the revenue stream then, rather than get into the cycle of repeats that Harry Potter is doing. Yes, I know Star Wars too, but there is new stuff for that now. It's frustrating for those that want it, but surely it will come, just at the opportune moment. And then from Zelda, through Pirates of the Caribbean, to... ...the point of this sub. I would love this so much. It's purely selfish, but seeing what they can do with the idea, and the MOCs using the same technique for the upcoming Star Wars sets, and others, it would amazing. Although perhaps a shame to not share at least some of the theme with those wanting amazing playsets (and this theme has amazing potential for great playsets).
  20. I bought a load of the Gallimimus sets to do this kind of thing. "They're flocking this way". This is amazing. I'm definitely going to try for it!
  21. That's a better photo than the first and all decorated pieces, except the logo and quote tiles at the front look like stickers now. There's a faint outline around the wheel designs, even where the yellow spokes connect to the outer rim, suggesting a sticker. But it would be surprising to have eight of the same sticker in a set, wouldn't it? A small shame, but still a great set.
