  1. Sorry for double posting, but here is a break down of the cannons for the faundry. I do think the front of the barrel might look nicer with a telescope instead of a pin joiner, but it also depends on how heavy the gun should be.
  2. Thank you all for the nice replies, I appreciate it! Underneath the grill tiles are some corner panels, so there is room for a knot there. And here are the cannons. The studs on the side are supposed to be the wheels, but you can of course ad 1x1 round plates if that is more to your liking. The swivel gun is pretty straight forward I suppose.
  3. The German BR119 was developed in 1937 by AEG, Siemens Schuckertwerke. At that time it was the most powerful electric locomotive in it's time. With the outbreak of world war 2 these engines couldn't be tested and developed further and speeds where then limited to 140km/h to keep them in use. The engines were really reliable and have been used up to 1968. Many liveries of this engine excist, I choose the dark blue livery with red wheels which I think really stands out. I really love these old electric locomotives with their big wheels and huge pantographs. First of a picture of the real engine; And my version (in the picture it somehow looks shorter then it really is); Making the sloped front with the 3 windows was not that easy; I choose to add the wind shield wipers to make it less plain, if only there were dark blue levers; Detail on the roof and pantographs; Apart from some rigid hose the model does not have cut or painted parts, for me this was really a must. I used some old 12V Lego stickers to add the logo's and numbers. Due to the complexity of the build it does not have an engine or lights (yet). I suppose our resident train experts would find this an easy task, but for me this is still challenging. The idea is to ad 3 coaches in the same livery, one of these will have two 9V motors. So there you have it, I hope you like it!
  4. Aww, did they really strap the King to the bowsprit?
  5. Very nice rendition of this classic beast!
  6. Nice setup, the wood and stone give it a nice late medieval look!
  7. Cool, I look forward to this! Where does the Rhino fig come from?
  8. It's starting to come together quite nicely! I like the green and White colours, it is something else. The tiled walls indeed look quite realistic. The sheer might be made by using jumpers, placing the tiles slightly higher. I think Teddy did that on his Hms victory. Right now I think the ship looks a bit too wide for it's length and I think the cabin is slighty too wide making the angle of the side Windows a bit too much. I would not make the stern higher, normally it would be on the gundeck right? Especially with these late ships. My suggestion would be to make the underside slightly higher to accomodate the rudder. The guns are now pretty close to the water anyway. Good luck on it, but from what I can see you'll manage to make a beauty!
  9. I'm in awe... A True work of art! Love the use of colour and the fireworks are truly amazing!
  10. That scène is instantly recognizable and takes me right back to that point of the movie. Top Job on all the debrees and demolished buildings and lastly your military vehicles look good too!
  11. I Will follow your topic with interest, it seems promising! My first question is how you Will make the sheer of the ship?
  12. The trees look great, I always make them like that too (not my design though). Your use of colour in the roof and walls is nice and I also like the small details such as the nets and the hanging shark.
  13. Another work of art, well done! I love he colours on it and the level of detail is amazing at this scale! I have two questions; why did you not use the reddish brown 2x2 window frames and why are the buffers different?
  14. Harr me harties! I mean ahoy maties! I'd like to present you my new ship. I really wanted to do something with my white hull, but at first I thought it was not going to be used. The white and black tops looked so pixelized, I had to do something. So I covered up the black with white tiles. I also got really inspired by Kurigans red walls on the inside of his new brig, but I don't like the use of electrical tape. So I took a look at the brig made by Andersen T. and got the idea of using tiles on the side. This might also be done with the new small 1x2 rounded slopes, but I like the planked look the tiles have now. I haven't put figures on the ship yet, I need to think of a captain and all that but I don't have the DB's to license her at the moment anyway. So I might do that later on, but for now; enjoy the pictures!
  15. I didn't see this topic coming from one of our most non-purist builders
  16. That looks very well made, and it's instantly recognizable! Top Job!
  17. Well mr. McNaught might learn a thing or two from our resident ship geniusses if hé is so kind to join us.
  18. Not bad at all! The bow could be better and some ratlines would add to the whole too I think.
  19. This has nothing to do with Lego and should be closed.
  20. This seems like a really nice addition to the PF palette, it works well and delivers loads of power it seems. You need to work on your driving skills though Jim, how can they let you on the road like that?
  21. Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it! The interview maker was at our house for about 2 hours and I told much more. Too bad there's only 3 minutes left. That's OK, thank you for trying! Thanks a lot for doing that, the text is just about right!
  22. I'm not sure weither this is the right forum, but I actually got an interview on TV. The video is in Dutch but it gives you a nice view on the start of the Greenville layout and it also shows a bit more of my ship the ''Halve Maen''. There are also quite a few MOCs in there I have not posted yet. I will keep you updated on the Greenville layout and everything, but if you have any questions you can ask them here. i hope you enjoy the interview! http://www.omroepfle...bouwen-met-lego PS. Is it possible to embed the video, I don't know how to?
