  1. They might still be fine, but they could have been replaced as well. If you dont use the suspension, nothing should break. But none of my ~10yo connectors like this are still fine today, because they have been used quite a bit.
  2. Dont change the liftarms, change the whole assembly to use normal full length liftarms. It will look better and be more stable as well.
  3. I agree. If you dont have a lot of LEGO yet, its better to buy a lot of Bricks (sets, collections) instead of just buying what you need. I would suggest buying a used technic collection. It will give you a lot of Bricks to play with, and is likeky to have Power functions in it as well. And it will be way cheaper.
  4. Overall I like the Bodywork, and integrating the shifter into the Bumper certainly is unique. But using these yellow connectors with a ballpin in them in the suspension setup really isnt good, these connectors are really fragile, and there is a high chance of these breaking.
  5. Thats what I thought. Why would you want to do that? The car turned out pretty well, but if you take a look at the belly shot, you can really see how unnaturally short and wide your car is. You've got a really short wheelbase, and about the minimal front and back overhang already. Thats why to me this car looks like a lightweight sporty compact car, and not like a full blood sportscar with a lot of power. Kind of like the Toyota MR2 roadster (just less ugly XD). Also, I like the headlights with the 3 1x1 round lights way better.
  6. Indeed, its very cute So small, but so many functions, even a working engine, and of course the classic metal hook
  7. I rewatched the Vid and wrote down anything I thought might be noteworthy. This will be terrible to read, but here you go: 100EUR price is fine, sadly no B Model, yellow, black&gray are good colors (not much green/lime bs hidden inside), cool yellow panels, steering at the roof isn't optimal, at the rear would have been more convinient(but could be easily modified to rear steering), XL linear actuator offers a good range of motion, Outriggers are very small and have to be deployed by hand?!, turning the Arm isn't a "turn a knob function" and just spins free, the ratchet mechanism for the rope and extending the boom is meh, sadly no V8 fake engine like some previous cranes, overall a ok model that should be available for 70EUR when you wait a little. Compared to what else is offered in the Technic lineup rn its a solid model, but still not as good as previous cranes, and older technic models in general.
  8. Exactly. Nobody is too stupid to put in the old gears the right way anyways, just not paying attention. @Ben003If you build the Defender like the instructions told you, and shit still does not work well, its not your fault. Imo the Defender is a good looking model, but the Gearbox is a destined to fail. Way too much all over the place, and too many joints and gears.
  9. And I thought they introduced the new gears because they wanted to be able to use 2 clutches on one gear... Anyone unable to mount these gears the right way around should consider buying creator or something else. No need to make it easy for everyone, some idiots will always be left behind, and thats fine.
  10. I only use these, and never the red ones in my MOCs, they reduce friction a lot. Using these will certainly improve things.
  11. Somewhat, but not quite. My RX7 Bodykit is different at a few places, less flush, and i will have a big wing, and the turbo inlet though the right headlight, and a few other differences. It will be different, but I did see TJ Hunt'S RX7, its really nice
  12. Yeah, I made some huge progress, and I really wanted to do a update before christmas, but I couldn't do it :( Now I am at my Grandparent's, and the next update will have to wait until my next Bricks&Pieces order arrives. The update will probably be in early/mid January then. Thx for following the build, Ill try to update more frequently in the future :)
  13. Well, the Held der Steine voices his honest opinion, and while I dont agree with all of it, most of his points are understandable. He is talking from a sellers perspective. The house in the tree and some other Ideas sets also recieved praise from him. I want a 3rd supercar as well. Give me some nice 5spoke rims please
  14. I was able to create the Instructions using stud.io, and it was fairly simple. I also made some more improvements, especially in the chest area. Since I made the instructions already, I might share them as well, right? They are now available for free on Rebrickable. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-32741/Gray_Gear/origami-tobiichi/#comments
  15. Why do they mention creativity so often in the video? You are following the instructions the way you do with any other LEGO set. There is nothing creative about that. The weird Fish skinn pieces only fit this model, and they even tell you in the vid to put it on a shelf and leave it. They don't even want you to MOC or modify, which would actually being creative with LEGOs, and thats how you can really create something you can be proud of.
  16. The point of a B model is that it does not need bricks other than the ones included in the set tho
  17. I also think a normal lenght axle will fit just fine, 1L will go into the diff.
  18. I didn't know Xiaomi was making some bricks as well...and a Mindstorms looking system...which is probably way better because Xiaomi is a tech company in the first place
  19. What the hell? Are you applying that much force that the axles bend? Keep in mind, this is not going to be the weakest link in your system (thats going to be the diff or the pieces connecting to the wheelhubs), so there is no need to make this able to withstand a whole lot more than these will be able to handle.
  20. I would not like people to print like bodypanels and other stuff because its hard to make that shape from normal bricks...Wheels, rims, gears and other stuff that is impossible to do with normal bricks is fine with me tho. I'd like to print some 5 spoke rims myself, because the Porsche wheels arn't that great tbh
  21. Also, one thing I just realized...Wouldn't a chinese brick seller have access to way more bricks than we do? Just take a few models from the show room, take a pic on a home looking shelf... Watch out my dude
  22. Yes, and the diff can't work without the gear, so it is inferior to the old diff in a center diff application. Danm.
  23. Not me. 7x11 Frames are very useful, and I need more. Why in white tho? I bet they arn't visible at all, so black would have been better. But eh.
  24. Thats not a Problem. Thats people not paying attention And the new clutch gears produce more friction too. Old cluth gears ftw
