Okay I guess... Its not like it is something to be proud of I buy bricks from China, Bricks from LEGO, I dont care, as long as quality is good and the combination of both makes my MOCs better. Yes, I mix China Bricks and original LEGO, and I often cant even tell the difference. Who the hell cares, just have fun with building Blocks. Its a toy, not a goddamn religion

Your choice my dude. I dont want to modify pieces, and I doubt you will be able to easily adapt something with equal strength. But be careful talking stuff you cant prove. Bad working conditions and enviromental pollution might be true, but child labour?I doubt that is true. I dont think you should shoot that sharp with nothing to back it up. Also, why did TLG move production to china if they dont exploit the chinese as cheap work force? They just care about their own profit as well. Still, buying LEGO is better?

As somebody who has fallen to the dark side, I have to note that L3P1N and Mould King are not the same company, and Mould King is offering better brick quality. L3P1N is now known as "King" or "Queen". I think that if the metal universal joints would be sold seperately, it would be a great opportunity for the LEGO community as well. "Love the Product, not the Brand" And whats not to love about metal universal joints?

Hypercar 2XV10
Gray Gear replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
How much resistance is in the drivetrain? I recently completed a 4WD chassis with center diff inside a 6speed manual transmission, and even though I simplified everything as far as possible there is of course a little bit more resistance compared to the RWD counterpart. -
Hypercar 2XV10
Gray Gear replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I am gonna be blunt here, I think the front looks ugly. It reminds me of early Nissan 350 Z. The rear looks very hypercar worthy, I like it a lot better. I am intrested to see more of the gearbox on the inside, I am always looking to improve my own designs, and your gearbox madness might give me some new ideas for manual transmissions as well I just hope these many universal joints ane not part of the drivetrain, otherwhise this will go against my design philosophy -
I dont really know how to feel about this one, there are things I like, and there are things I dislike. I like the Idea, suspension (looks like air suspension ) and the roof mechanism, and looks of the rear of the car. And pop up headlights always earn some +pionts from me I dislike the general layout, this car looks like it has a mid-engine layout, but it doesn't, reminds me of the Nissan 300ZX. I dislike the flow of the roofline, that offers almost no rear visibility at all, even though there is no engine behind the driver. And finally, I dislike the Engine itself, and how high it sticks out of the hood. I would have liked to see the real piston pieces. Overall its a very intresting build, that offers a lot of personality, which is also causing some imperfections at the same time. None the less, Impressive build, keep it up

What are you talking about? How is the new Diff expensive? Its 2 simple mold pieces like any other. A small turntable should be more difficult to do. If you deem a difference of a very few cents expensive, then ok I guess. But i agree with you on this: This model has no benefit from using the new diff piece. The odler diff is a better choice here, because it offers a slower output speed, resulting in lower friction. But looking at the price I can definatelly see why people expect the better diff piece, 120 bucks is just -

Very nice looking excavator Are you using the new longer linear actuators from the Liebherr? Also, please add "[MOC]" to your thread title, thank you.

Random gearing question
Gray Gear replied to technicfan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You are talking about the fork moving up and down, right? It depends...if you want to lift heavy loads, you might want to gear down quite a bit. What are you using to lift the lift the fork? Linear actuators? String? Some pics might help so people can see what you are trying to achieve -

Gray Gear replied to apachaihapachai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, you finished up the rear so quickly... Damn, I could never build so fast. Well, maybe I am used to think in 1:8 Scale now It turned out very nice, I like how you used the maccaroni pieces back there The battalion of blue pins throw me off a little, but I guess there is nothing you can do- 52 replies

Gray Gear replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is the most hillarios thing I have heared in a long time I am done, no more need to argue. It seems like TLG can do no wrong. I'll just leave you with this: "Love the product, not the brand" -

Gray Gear replied to brickphisto's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It will be intresting to see how you'll do the pop-up headlights. The price of them being so incredibly cool when they work is that they are a pain in the @ss to create. -
42111 - Fast & Furious car
Gray Gear replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think you missed my point - they removed things like great motors, metal hooks and often skip suspension entirely, all things that have been more or less common a few years ago, with better prices than today. You are right about the Buwizz stuff tho. Also, What the hell?! No. You might pay that, but that isn't what TLG is paying. I doubt 6 shocks and a few extra pieces would cost them more than 3 EUR. They produce in China like everyone else. -

Gray Gear replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I couldn't disagree more. MOC offroad trucks at least use shocks (blue disaster), MOC cranes still love the metal Hook, and MOC cars have working suspension that can actually handle the cars weight (unlike Bugatti and Porsche). Also, almost everybody has been moving away from battery boxes and to alternatives like Buwizz. Buggy Motors are still the way to Go if you want big power, and I dont think Control+ will change that in the near Future. Just some examples that come to mind. There are just too many places where TLG is cutting corners to even compete. -
[POC] Axle twister
Gray Gear replied to Touc4nx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah an axle that has been bent past a certain point will never be as strong as it once was, even when you bend it back, thats for sure. Honestly, you might as well just call it "LEGO Technic enthusiast torture device" Seeing this thing in action would make me cringe for sure. -

Can it also fix twisted axles back to normal? -

42111 - Fast & Furious car
Gray Gear replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think we have long reached a point where people's MOCs have surpassed the official LEGO sets, and TLG's designers just cant keep up -
Yes, they dont work well, but they can teach you how to build a normal sequential 4-/ 8-speed sequential transmission. The porsche is outdated (no wave selector) , and the chiron could be improved upon. But you can build, and there have been built some transmissions similar to the Porsche/Chiron that work well. The Land Rover on the other hand... There is so much axles and friction produced for just a 4 speed, using universal joints insted of gears... There is nothing to improve upon this, it will never work flawlessly with low friction.
