DNR Shifter Issue
Gray Gear replied to StudWorks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Instead of asking how to do the most basic things work you should be trying things yourself like almost everyone else here. I dont want to offend you, we all start somewhere, but the way you built that that shifter housing makes you seem really inexperienced. -
DNR Shifter Issue

Use the normal 5x7 Frames, not the H shaped ones. First measure to stop bending is to have overlapping liftarms left, right and above the frames mointed in the center. That will reduce bending by a lot, but it'll take more for a sturdy chassis. -

Why do people use panels for framework? Imo they are inferior to frames. Like in this case, you have a 7 studs wide center tunnel, so why lose out on the best mounting option, and use panels insted? I dont get it. -
In my opinion it looks better with the little more space in the front that the very close rear. I like the same space in the rear as well. I always try to get ~1stud distance all around the wheel, in the front and the back, to keep things even. In my opinion fitment like this looks good, while keeping room for suspension travel.
-
It might seem that way because of the wheel arches being so narrow in the rear. It makes the wheel look smaller in comparison to the body. Wheel arch shaping&Fitment are very important in a car, as it can easily mislead the human eye and make things look off. I dislike the rear wheel arches, because I hate using these angle connectors for shaping wheel arches. But the rest of the car turned out really nice, especially the white one. Very recognizable

I wish I had awesome tools like that at my disposal...At least I will have a 3D Printer at home soon. Hopefully this B*tch can print some rims in 1:8 scale.I am Tired of the Porsche rims, I want some sick 5spokes But probably not, I Imagine tolerances must be pretty accurate... -

I had the same problem with two of these gears locking like this in a prototype Gearbox for one of my MOCs. In my case there was a little space, and the one Gear could scoot over a little in the territory of the other. I ended up abandoning the prototype. -
That comparison is missing one important point imo: PC and MAC dont go well togehter, but LEGO most and its competitors and clones are compatible almost perfectly. I mixed LEGO and other Brands, because it improves the possibilities for my MOCs. I source my bricks wherever I can get what I need, and just have fun

That's right, but it does not change my argument. The Bugatti is the best example: Instead of doing some more testing and fixing the suspension issues they paid half of youtube for some half-assed product placements. You see where the 70€ compared to the Porsche went.

Advertisement is not a nececary expense. It is a expense a to grow a company to make more profit in the future.

Of course these sets are for adults, because of the Pricetag that no kid could afford Those "Adult Sets" still have the blue pin yellow axle disease, so every 12yo can build them tho. Why ruin the good look?
-
Well, they kind of stab their own leg by doing this, if Bricklink will really get worse. I bet they'll rise whatever ammount sellers now have to pay the site by a lot. Displeasing their adult fans is what TLG does best. But we'll see how this goes.
-
The 3rd market is not that big tho There are very few good stores that sell seperate bricks on Aliexpress, and a lot of bad ones. Ordering at Bricks&Pieces or Bricklink becomes unavoidable at some point. Damn. I read about a Bricklink like Service called GoBricks, the difference being that the Manufacturer is the only seller. But the site is only available in chinese rn. If this post is like off limits or something, feel free to delete it.

I dislike this. As if things are going to improve for us if TLG touches Bricklink.
