[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
Jundis replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Florian first the easy solution: Switch the orientation of one of the differentials. It's a really easy error occuring on many models. When the bevel gear gear of the diff is on the other side, It should work fine. Strangely it seems that in the original manual, both diffs are shown in the same direction, just like in your model. I don't have this model, can anybody confirm if this is a misprint from lego? -

Maybe a good limitation would be only 43.2 mm tires are allowed: 30699: 56898: 44308: 44309: And for giggles even both balloon tires in this size: 6579: 61481: -

There would be much less participants in such a contest than in a contest with a smaller scale (42093 is like 1:16?). -
Generic Contest Discussion

In the last contests, bigger builds mostly won. I'd love to see a contest with cars in the scale of 42093, many MOCs popped up lately :-) *EDIT: But maybe wait till the fenders in black are released 2H2020 -

My god, what a C-model! Brilliant! -

Hi Mistery Man, you picked one of the most sophisticated construction vehicles, but just emulated the really basic mechanics. These function seem to work nice, but I recommend to look up some videos of what these machines are capable of and try to implement some of these functions in your build :-) Keep up the good work! -
[MOC] Extreme OffRoader
Jundis replied to kodlovag's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just brilliant, looks so complete and clean, even better than most original TLC models :-) -
Great MOC :-) I can already see a new Technic Contest with cars in exactly this scale :-D

Great job! This skid-steerers with an advanced kinematic are really nice to look at, and so are yours. Using the pneumatic hose for the cabin is just brilliant :-) Does the video show the max elevation of the arm? It looks like it could reach higher if the actuartor are placed a little bit backwards?

I just installed the App, very neat, thank you very much! Is it possible to implement half stud steps for gear combos? e.g.: 1 stud up and 1,5 stud away, a 20t and a 8t gear mesh nicely.

Sadly, this may actually be the only uplift of this model. It would be a nice addition, if this volvo would have a openable tailgate as some dumper have: Video Can't spot any of this in the promo-pic though :-/ Again: The proportions of the cabin and dump are so wrong...

[MOC] Custom Streetfighter
Jundis replied to nikolyakov's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What a nice bike! Great job! In the pictures, it looks more like azur, but I think in reality, it is a nice color contrast. What I think looks odd is the red rear light directly touching the exhaust pipes, maybe move them to it a stud further outside?- 4 replies

I didn't want to create a new thread, so I'm just using this one as it is a similar topic: Is there a change log or anything to see, which are the new parts? Especially as a technic builder, I still miss many new parts (introduced mid 2019) like the Control+ elements or new tires. -

42108 - Mobile Crane
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just amazing! I really would love to have this thing as an official build. The looks and the efficient built is just what lacks the 42108. -

Apart from these pieces which don't exist Lego: Wouldn't it be hilarious this thing would actually copied by TLG and brought in as a new set? :D -
42112 Concrete Mixer Truck

Me too, I think it will be very similar to the 42024: -
Maybe it's a contract TLC have to fullfill as we've seem Volvo's every two years since 2014? But I agree, with the 8264 (which wasn't licensed?), it really gets a bit repetitive. And as I just again had a look at the 42114 promo-pic on page 1, I really struggle to buy this, as even the B-Model of the 42030 looked better somehow...

Both have many similar heavy building equipment like dumper trucks, excavators, wheeled loaders... Liebherr just have been around last year, so 2020 is a volvo year again it seems :D

42111 - Fast & Furious car
Jundis replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very good point. I am a big fan of the Charger as in my opinion it is the best meanest muscle car of them all, I am not looking forward to this from a technical point of view. I think we can expect a fake V8 engine similar to the 42097, steering and openable bonnet, back and doors. This should be a creator expert set in my opinion, not technic. -
