  1. Agreed, but also remember the history of TLG. As they were on the brink of bankruptcy in 2003, Jørgen Vig Knudstorp as the new CEO reduced the number of individual brick molds from 14.000 to under 7000 and went back to more basic bricks and classic themes instead of specialiced ones for specialiced themes. This in the end saved TLG. I just hope the don't overdo it again...
  2. There are really two sides of the story. On one side, every Technic-fan likes sturdy, compact constructions as they give us new/improved building methods and techniques. On the other, the more Lego goes for complete build-in-solutions like the planetary hub, the more it gets lost from the original principle: Build everything from simple building blocks. I really can't make up my mind, which side I prefer, while I like the basic idea of this diff as is somehow combines both of its advantages (but maybe also disadvantages?).
  3. They sure do :-) Although tires with real tractor profile in exactly this size would be even greater...
  4. It's funny that the best sets in H1 seem to be the Buggy and the Mini Xerion :D
  5. Or maybe just use sandpaper/grinding wheel on the edges of the teeth?
  6. Another good reason I didn't buy the 42097... what a strange design... maybe cause of the risk of skipping when a bevel gear goes directly on the turntable?
  7. Overall I don't like these 20t bevel gears as they always seem to grind... the problem I think are the flanks of the teeth, as they are sticking out the same height as the outermost ring. While normally when you work with a little space to allow friction-free rotation of the axles, the axle/gears bend slightly to one side under load. Therefore the gears grind on the liftarm/frame/technic brick. In contrast, that never happened on the straight toothed 16t or 24t.
  8. *JCB ;-) It really is a pity, that we are still waiting for newer, smaller tractor tires in the size of about 60 x 25. I think even the new backhoe tractor (42114) will have the Xerion configuration with the same sized wheels both on front and back axle like JCB 5CX. :-/
  9. Looking again at 0:25 in the video, you can spot the two tan bevel gears for the steering. The gear for the horizontal axle would interfere with a mechanism for the front outriggers.
  10. As he grabbed the outriggers with his fingers I had the same thought: You must be kidding.... I mean TLG come on... it would be ok to actually use one of the front lights, the bumper, a lever in the cabin, or something completely else.... but please put some levers/gears/mechanics in there... I mean it's called "Technic" or did I missed something?
  11. Agreed. According to the size of the piston, the "jar" of the Robot will be quite big (about 15 studs long?), therefor not that light weight, especially when built by system bricks. According to the little lever between the movable pneumatic arm connection and the fixed part of the jar, you will have easily enough torque to move the pneumatic piston.
  12. I would add the 42100, although quite expensive... All around I can really can recommend the 42043 because you get many different parts although not too specific: Good wheels, springs, hydraulic, motor and actuator.
  13. On the left rear wheel, sure. But you said at both sides...? ;-)
  14. You mean next to the right rear wheel? This surely is the red thin liftarm you can also see at 0:06 and not a red gear.
  15. At least in the interview, on brickset, Julia Goldin, Global Chief Marketing Officer of TLG explicitly said the following: "There are absolutely no plans to change transaction fees or anything like that." and "We would seek to maintain the marketplace in a way that is competitively robust and we will continue to allow sellers to operate as they are doing already. LEGO will not be interfering with that in any way." I hope they'll stick to this words :-) Edit: When I think about it, some very rare parts, now not available on current sets may even be considered to be produced again? I mean if they weren't outdated in any kind.
  16. As already previously stated, the model is way overpriced. As the 42100 slowly reaches the 300€ range and acting as a part donor, we are currently at 50€ for all the electric components at bricklink. The only interesting parts right now are the white wheel arches and the differential.
  17. Ah ok! So more like this just with the new connection ports?
  18. I would think the "dumb hub" is easier to integrate into the engine compartment because its only 4 studs wide and not 6/8 studs as the "smart hub". Also: TLG knows that this already exists, right?^^
  19. Now for 140€ instead of the previous mentioned 130€... whoa...
  20. Heresy! The punishment shall be to walk over his entire collection of sloped bricks, twice.
  21. That's quite possible, like they did with the Defender which showed up without any previous teases. Even if TLG already partnered up with Harley Davidson and BMW, I would not doubt that they will cooperate with another global player.
  22. It looks like the "2W" will be delayed into 2H ...
  23. A combine harvester... see 3 posts above :-P
  24. B-models are shown here: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-technic-januar-2020/
