  1. Well, it not that I need one, it's that I am still hoping that we will see new recolors of that particular hairpiece. It repurposes nicely for other custom figure designs, but also I would like to see it done in different shades of brown, blond, and red before the part is eventually retired. But having said all that, maybe that hairpiece might be licensed to WB, making any reusage beyond its original purpose out of the question. But I don't know that for sure.
  2. Anime franchises are probably the most likely answer, the only other IPs that could perhaps fit the bill would be either classic kaiju movies (Godzilla for instance) or Japanese children's TV shows for Duplo, maybe. I only wonder what the retail availability of such themes will be in the western world, if indeed these themes will not appeal as much to western audiences since they are primarily targeted at eastern customers. By the way, I mentioned the quote discussed here by the Lego Group's CEO in @Ookami's possible future licensed themes discussion, somewhere where this topic is probably more suited for.
  3. I really like the usage of the Trans-yellow UCS X-Wing canopies to create the watchtower windows, giving them a corresponding slope which works quite nicely. By the way, do you have some pictures of that one rounded spacecraft on left side of the tower further back?
  4. INCREDIBLE! Along with your ginormous space base, all those spacecraft designs, I mean, they are all stunning and quite unique! I saw your All Terrain Dual Rocket Launcher back in mid June and was blown away! But, for some reason I never checked out your other work, and WOW, you've got some wild spacecraft designs! Here are a few favorites I really dig from your Flickr page. https://www.flickr.com/photos/101871406@N06/
  5. On @LegoMonorailFan's CS Creator Opinion thread, @badgerboy had linked a three part interview with current Lego Group CEO Bali Padda that took place at this year's Media Fan Days event, and I found this one quote from the second part of the interview quite interesting. What IPs could this possibly encompass? Edit: Here is the link. http://www.brickfanatics.co.uk/chatting-to-the-ceo-lego-successes-and-missteps/
  6. Thanks for linking this interview @badgerboy! Honestly, I wished I had seen this earlier, but I don't really visit the site Brick Fanatics, so maybe I should more often. The entire interview, also including the first and second parts, was very insightful. Though not pertaining to space exactly, I found this one quote from the second part of the interview to be most interesting. I do wonder what this will mean for future themes?
  7. All I can guess is that they are factored in at the last moment after the set design is finalized. They are probably, like many have speculated, expensive to produce; so if there is enough room for dual molded legs on any of the figures while maintaining the target price for the set, they go ahead with it. If not, then they simply forgo them. As far as Superman goes, I'm concerned about the lack of his traditional hairpiece in the Lobo set, instead opting for the one introduced for the DCEU verison. I hope they haven't scraped the hairpiece this early on.
  8. Woah, that is quite the timeline plot. I think your historical merging of the Adventurers and Alpha Team themes works seamlessly well, and I really like how you made the Alpha Team a Cold War era espionage agency.
  9. I'm pretty sure Lego will at least maintain one regular CMS per year, and with the way it is going, I'm expecting to see S19 slated for Sept. 2019.
  10. So if we hear from verifiable sources that Speed Champions year four isn't happening, @Rick will just lock this thread, right? I do hope it's happening.
  11. By the way @Rufus, are you going to be waiting for verifiable information on 2018 Creator sets before a 2018 discussion thread is started? I saw @Rick has already started 2018 discussion topics on the Friends and Speed Champions themes even before any sources such as @Sir von Lego have given us any information. Thanks!
  12. Wait a minute, who confirmed Speed Champions for 2018?
  13. OK, I see. Yeah, that would be cool, particularly a reverse trike could even make for a nice non Expert series Creator set. Reverse trikes have now just reminded me of three wheeler vehicles such as the Polaris Slingshot and the Campagna T-Rex, which I have pictured below. Those also could make for some interesting Creator sets. Well, their angular lines and edges would certainly be a snap to replicate in Lego!
  14. Oh, well, I've seen a few people do these before, but some Classic Space and Classic Castle Brickheadz could be cool to see; particularly, a Futron/Blacktron pair and a vintage Forestman/Black Falcon pair could be nice. As far as more recent unlicensed themes go, for some reason I think some Exoforce Brickheadz would sort of be cool, especially since depicting their crazy, rubbery hairpieces could be a challenge.
  15. That's what I had figured regarding Thomas's popularity helping such a train project towards success; but since the franchise is owned by Mattel, I figured a project based upon Thomas's original tank engine inspiration would be a good alternative. The only other licensed train project that hypothetically could be successful based on this premise may be an Expert scale Hogwarts Express project, I think at least. But as far as train projects not having as much success on Ideas, there is recently this one particular project by Creator_HUN posted June 27 that has already gathered 1300+ supporters. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88b93624-a97e-4a64-93e4-097584bd1278 Now I didn't even realize that your creation utilized third party parts, so that really does count that particular MOC as out of the question unfortunately.
  16. I'll take either one of those, but that latter one would be so awesome. But plausibly speaking, I'm not sure really if we would ever even get a train station modular, but if we did, it would indeed have a corresponding Expert series train released alongside it.
  17. Too bad, I really got my hopes up there for a split second. On this topic of dual sided plates, I remember @Darkdragonmentioning on @Bonaparte's New Parts and Colors thread that apparently Megabrands has a patent on dual sided parts, so if that's the case, we probably would never see such parts from Lego any time soon. But, @badgerboy has asked on @Jim's Questions for creator Expert Designers about dual sided plates as a question for Creator Expert designer Michael Psiaki, so maybe he might be able to shed some light on that particular issue.
  18. So, wait a minute, am I looking at a dual sided studded plate here?! Edit: Never mind, it's just a one by two plate with rounded edges.
  19. Question, does anyone know what that small red 1 by 2 piece is in the bottom left corner of this set image?
  20. Yeah, I remember now, I just initially didn't remember the names of the characters and their TV shows. Oh, those Pirates and Adventurers Brickheadz, they are amazing! I mean, Johnny Thunder... Particularly, I'm really liking how you've used those one by one quarter circle tiles to imitate both Johnny and Redbeard's hair peeking out from under their hats. All your Brickheadz are turning out awesome so far, but now I really would like to see more unlicensed designs from you after seeing these!
  21. Kryptonite vials?
  22. It is? Well, okay then, I'm not that familiar with the show myself. So @Savage Oppress, if you were to hypothesize, what do you think a cinematic Lego Star Wars movie would look like? Might be the start of an interesting discussion.
  23. I'm not sure myself what those parts are, but upon seeing that picture you posted, I'm kind of irked that we at least didn't get the smaller X Wing canopy in Trans. Light Blue instead in the actual set.
  24. After seeing better pictures of these sets, they're not as bad as I initially thought upon looking at the first pictures. Of course, the figures, being the main draw of these sets, are all very well done, though it would have been nice if some came with new dual molded leg color combinations. I only wish this wave came with even more newly recolored canopies, since I feel they could have done the Lex Mech's canopy in Trans. Light Green instead, and the X Wing canopy on Cyborg's Copter in Trans. Red. But those Trans. Light Green canopies in the Superman/Lobo set are nice, since I was hoping for some transparent recolors of that particular part after it introduction in Nexo Knight sets this year. But honestly, Scooby Doo Krypto is the best part of that set. By the way, does that vehicle of Killer Frost's remind anyone of that 2008 Mr. Freeze buggy?
  25. I second this! While the E-Type would be be the most ideal candidate for an Expert Jaguar set, I would kind of like to see a Jaguar XK120 as a set, something that would be most challenging as far as the construction of the curves would go. I should mention here Flickr user Chris Giddens (a.k.a. Fazoom) for some of his great retro "Pre Classic Space" creations, probably some of the best rocketcraft MOCs around though they may be older. https://www.flickr.com/photos/fazoom/albums By "Trike" do you mean three wheeled motorcycle?
