  1. Good questions! I tried a worm gear but there was too much looseness in that design that bump steer was very bad. the images below show the slop (without turning the worm gear) too the red liftarm which equates to a third to half of the steering either left or right! As for the rigid hose they are used so I could cut them to get the right lengths (and to look more svelte ) and the main steering push rod has differing pivot directions each end and the hoses have good flex in them. The below video is not meant to be patronising to anyone as no doubt you all know the affects of toe in/out on wheels, but it’s just highlighting how little tolerance there was, to getting the length right of the steering link between the wheels! The right length sits in between the two in the below video for a smooth driving tractor. Thank you!! funny you say that but this started out as a motorised build. I think getting drive through the PTO is easy then Just need another linked PTO for the steering then motors and batteries could be hidden in the trailer build!
  2. I don’t think they will suit tbh. Thin truck tyres like you say would be perfect. Not sure I think I just wanted it to look ‘rounder’ and hide the 2l half ‘stop’ thingy.2 Maybe! But not too many choices because of some parts used. No way! it’s all aligned quite well that it stays together nicely. Although maybe different for a motorised build. thanks! Thanks!!
  3. After many revisions, I have to call it finished quite obviously for anyone that knows tractors my main inspiration was a vintage Massey Ferguson features include: steering 3 cylinder engine diff PTO suspension on drivers seat 3 point hitch pivoting front axle ackerman geometry toe in positive caster positive camber All that wheel aligning was necessary as the front axle is obviously quite 'basic' in its build integrity to replicate vintage tractor front axles of the era. you may notice that the tyres are not on 'properly'. this gives a slightly more rounded look. But I used the older 3 hole wheels from the 8110 set as they do not have the perpendicular ridges that stop the tyre being put on wrong. Video shows how totally incompetent I am at voicing my videos but its so dry and boring that its quite funny so I left it and just tried to spice it up a bit with other stuff.
  4. Love this thing!! I would change the arm connector myself so the gears were housed each side but it obviously works well as it is. looks awesome, not to many panels covering everything up, and looks very capable, nice job ??
  5. how does the front suspension work? I cannot see any springs for the front 2 axles? yet they are independent of each other? great looking build
  6. What could you possibly change!! This is very nice
  7. You have to do the sr20! Classic awesome engine (I had one in my datsun so I vouch for them)
  8. No gearbox? no just kidding, technic fan art I kind of like it and it’s interesting to see lots of parts in one colour collection
  9. Positives... 3x13 red panel I need!! negatives (ironically as per above positive) ...this is all about panels and looks. Should this really be technic direction? Sure the consumers will dictate. Not for me this one. The box shows Nothing in terms of ‘technic’ copious amount of stickers make it look like the real thing
  10. Great to see this got its own thread instead of hidden in the engine thread! Nice build. The gear driven cams reminds me of the Nissan LZ20b from the 70’s, being a datsun guy and all.
  11. so another technic car and we still can’t see the technic bits of it. Obviously the masses love this and that’s why LEGO do it but Personally I look forward to when this over paneling fad And supercar fad is over in technic. it makes for a real ugly toy IMO
  12. Superb technic! this should get front paged for technic awesomeness. It looks great of course but this is technic frontpaging
  13. Lovely tractor!! Well done I can’t figure out what the black 12t gear does underneath in front of the diff?
  14. Great idea/concept! It will be interesting to see how much load it can take. would using the bigger 1L worm gears take more load perhaps? ... is that a stupid question Of course it would be bigger in size but for a big crawler maybe??
  15. Great build and love the way you made 4 speeds! very interesting. I learn so much about diffs on this forum.
  16. very nice indeed! It could not work with the larger Lego pump either or multiples of them? or it works but just not so well I take it.
  17. What sins? Your perceived 4th paragraph ones? Myself I can’t see a sin, I see a mistake by the company and at great cost to them tried to fix it according to their modus operandi. it’s a mistake and they fixed it. That shouldn’t really upset people who don’t follow their MO, it should be understood and respected. It’s TLG MO and they (eventually) stuck to it. TLG are only in the wrong by people spitting a dummy because they can’t get something they want. Your post sounds like trying to find an excuse to buy other products (Do you really need an excuse) But that’s my perception of your post and we are all entitled to our own perceptions.
  18. I’m glad about that as it’s a technic forum Your current body looks ok, it does, but it’s just a shell with no functions and compared to the chassis just not that interesting no matter what body you build on it. your ‘mistake’ was to present the chassis only first
  19. In all honesty I think you now Have lamb dressed up as mutton...IMO. The paneling is ok...but it really ruins the beautiful chassis that you replicated exquisitely and seeing all the juicy technical details. I guess the panels add rigidity at least?
  20. Love that dumper!! (Especially in yellow and red)
  21. That looks very nice, smooth and clean. I’ve not seen those blades before either.
  22. looks like a lot of fun building that! any videos of this thing moving? does the chain move the steering or just the steering wheel? its hard to tell from limited photos but curious
  23. Well they did try to order what they thought was an expensive tasty meal… Well, anyway, I thought it was humorous (if indeed farfetched) representation that was just trying to lighten the day. Carry on.
  24. Two people walked into a new age ‘don’t waste the planet’ restaurant one day and ordered some food. -'Ewww! This tastes like... like actual Sh*t!' -'Let me taste…Ewww oh man I think it is! You cant eat that its actual sh*t, come on let’s leave that’s disgusting' -‘No we cant just leave they might not know why we left. I’m going to eat it and then leave some feedback on why they shouldn’t serve that’
  25. The way the front suspension splayed out when showing the suspension is awfull WTH! Sure the rake looks fairly similar to the real one but if the function doesn’t work well, fix it. I was excited by this set but after seeing reviews etc I’m not any longer. But holy moly I’ll bricklink some of those fat tyres!
