  1. Or we have the great and nice looking Neon Yellow to use!
  2. Lee was pointing to the model he designed, the 42178 Surface Space Loader, and the "new small beam" should be this one. Although for us it first appeared in 42168, but that's also a 2024 set so it wasn't out yet when this video was recorded back in September 2023. By the way, I saw a bit of confusion about the designer of the VTOL - it is Uwe Wabra. Lee Magpili designed 42178, and Samuel Tacchi was the designer of 42180. And here is my review of this amazingly swoooooshable set:
  3. @BrickMonkeyMOCs thanks for the detailed explanation, it's easier to understand with pictures :) Your solution is quite clever, it does work and it is fairly easy to implement, although I still think the stepper could have been designed to be more reliable out of the box :)
  4. It is quite similar to last year's dual-molded tires, like the one on the Ferrari. The nail test leaves a similar mark on both, but the feel is a bit grippier on the slick tires, so it feels a bit more rubbery.
  5. And to have the full collection, here's the last one:
  6. Such a swap can expand the part selection for more common colors, and make rare pieces more available. I prefer this approach rather then introducing a handful of pieces in a brand new color. There are quite a few panels in this set that were not available in orange previously, also the 16L soft axle, and a some rare parts like the axle/pin or pin/pin connector.
  7. The biggest surprise of the new wave for me so far:
  8. @2GodBDGlory it is certainly possible and makes it slightly better, but it won't fix the issue in the first place, and the instructions never tell you to do this, so it's not a solution for an average builder. If you saw my previous video, the manual of 42171 actually shows the steering wheel being rotated while the wheels are centered.
  9. The only color missing was red. We had windshields for SC sets in the past with 4 or maybe even more colors, like the Corvette or the Lamborghini.
  10. There is white and blue printed on it, the only missing color is red. Stickers add red, white and blue, but as they are transparent, their color is dull, actually blue is worse than the printed version.
  11. Next round of Sticker Speed Champions:
  12. Here are some variations. The first one doesn't fit, the second is too small, the 3rd and 4th are ok:
  13. Tile doesn't work, plate is ok:
  14. @Void_S which printed tiles/dishes you mean? The 2x2 dish fits as you see on the McLaren F1 car, you mean the one from the old F1 Mercedes? I can try some spoked covers on of course.
  15. First round is published:
  16. Access to the Python coding interface is free. More samples for LEGO sets will be added to the website, actually anyone can write and share code that can be used with Pybricks and the Xbox controller. MOC makers can also share the code tailored for their creation, and it can be used by anyone going forward. Yes, every function is accessible both on the Python interface and the block interface. At the moment only Xbox controllers are supported. Playstation controllers don't support Bluetooth Low Energy, therefore they cannot communicate directly with the hubs.
  17. The @Pybricks team have been working hard to deliver a fantastic update that I've personally been wanting since LEGO introduced the Powered Up system - you can now use an Xbox controller to directly control any creation with a Technic / Mindstorms / Spike Prime / Spike Essential Hub! No need to have an app running all the time, and no need for a smart device to act as a bridge between the controller and the hub. Here is a video showing you the details:
  18. Traditionally, review embargoes are set approximately 1 week before the release date. Actual publication may be affected by the number of sets to be reviewed and the time at which they arrive at the reviewers ;)
  19. True, but it's still cheaper to update the port on the hub than to make a completely new hub :)
  20. It'll be interesting to see if it is a completely new hub (I would be still very surprised), a Technic recolor of one of the Spike hubs, or simply a rechargeable battery for the Technic hub, similar to Phondly, that couldn't achieve a successful crowdfunding unfortunately.
  21. It will be interesting to see though if the new gearbox parts make it more reliable than the Defender :)
  22. 42000's RRP was $130 in 2013, which is worth around $160 in 2022, when 42141 was released for $200. Not sure about your math, but 160*1.25=200
  23. I would be super happy with a purple car, was waiting for a bigger purple release since 42069 :) Even though that set looked partially purple, it only had like 3 type of beams and a handful of panels in that color.
  24. @allanp I wouldn't build complicated theories on a few words from his video just yet. The guy shares leaks, mostly from retailers I assume since they get information in advance, so we don't even know if LEGO had any real claims there. I highly doubt TLG will give us anything more powerful than buggy motors, honestly I would be very surprised if we see any new hardware components for the Powered Up / Control+ system at this point.
  25. I guess we are talking about the Control+ era, it is not that difficult to be the fastest or most powerful here :) Also, I don't think power really matters with a race car that supposed to run on flat surfaces indoors, I guess it's more about speed. The "fastest" C+ vehicle is the 42124 Off-Road buggy currently that only has a single L motor. If they keep the weight down, use 2 L motors and street tires, the car can easily be faster than the buggy.
