@allanp I wouldn't build complicated theories on a few words from his video just yet. The guy shares leaks, mostly from retailers I assume since they get information in advance, so we don't even know if LEGO had any real claims there. I highly doubt TLG will give us anything more powerful than buggy motors, honestly I would be very surprised if we see any new hardware components for the Powered Up / Control+ system at this point.

I guess we are talking about the Control+ era, it is not that difficult to be the fastest or most powerful here :) Also, I don't think power really matters with a race car that supposed to run on flat surfaces indoors, I guess it's more about speed. The "fastest" C+ vehicle is the 42124 Off-Road buggy currently that only has a single L motor. If they keep the weight down, use 2 L motors and street tires, the car can easily be faster than the buggy.

Maybe it's a bit early to jump on conclusions like that? The set clearly has shock absorbers, it also has pullrod suspension at the rear, and has HOG added. There's no cutout over the engine, but a removeable section, and we got the slick tires. Development compared to 42141 is clearly visible, so it's definitely not the same. We will have to wait and see with the set in hand if all these things are enough to have a decent build, but it's almost certainly better than the McLaren.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? :) Also, app reinstall might be another thing to test. -
I received hundreds of comments on the video, and 2 alternative options came up multiple times that I didn't consider: - Ford Mustang GTD - they call it a supercar and it's competing against the Porsche GT3 RS. It has adjustable suspension, active rear wing, would be an interesting design in 1:8 scale. - McLaren GTS - The latest McLaren, literally revealed a day after my video was published, would fit my brand prediction

It really depends. What I've learned through my years of reviewing is that every set has fans and haters. And even if I think something is "not good enough", there are a lot of people who really love that set and don't understand why I'm so picky. And for that same set, there are people who think I'm way too lenient on this build. People have different expectations and different levels of experience. What doesn't make you happy might make someone else happy, and that shouldn't be held against them either.

Technic General Discussion

To be honest, LEGO's own B models didn't always meet their standards. There were some great models, without a doubt, but some really felt forced and boring. Rebrickable offers something more - you don't have a single B model, you can choose from a wide selection. If you are not a rookie then you can find designers you know and trust, so I totally see the site as something to rely on. -

I don't think TLG wants to buy Rebrickable because it wouldn't offer them similar value to Bricklink. Not much has changed there since the acquisition btw, actually less than I'd like - for example, it still takes forever for the inventory of a new set to be uploaded, even though they have the option to provide it "in house". -
@ElGreco I suggest to follow the modification of @Train of Thought Creations, based on further testing my solution was not bulletproof. He posted it a few days ago in this topic.
