  1. And then people would complain that LEGO does not even build their displays anymore, but they are lazy enough to do it digitally. C'mon man, don't be so grumpy about everything they do :) It is a cool looking advertisement using the actual set for once, not the "big useless non-LEGO electic car with a bunch of LEGO pieces glued to it".
  2. I don't think that's the case, gluing Technic sets with moving parts and functions would be pretty weird anyway :)
  3. Making definitive judgements based on builds assembled by store employees in a rush might not be the best choice either :)
  4. It is also human nature to feel envy and assume bias about such an event, which, as a marketing event, does not have any "independent" journalists :) But let's stay on topic! New 14T gear with a 18T clutch gear, also 8T "long gear" with a clutch. And new shifter drums of course.
  5. Ah yes, I definitely feel brainwashed :) I really don't understand why people cannot just appreciate a cool engineering achievement beneath the marketing fluff. We know it is not a 100% LEGO car, but if you have ever tried to keep Technic pieces together beyond 40 km/h, you can certainly appreciate how 400 kg of non-glued Technic parts are driven around on a custom-built barebones car chassis that at the end looks like a Koenigsegg. Why does this make people so upset? The big car is made to promote the actual LEGO product, simple as that. This is from a marketing budget, they will not spend that money on more parts or anything similar, despite what some people have said. Would it be better if they paid Tom Holland or Jason Momoa to advertise the Technic car, as they did for other campaigns? I still think these 1:1 "gimmicks" suit Technic better.
  6. They were not rejected, they didn't gather enough votes. Technic is a niche within a niche hobby, it is difficult to compete with Castle, Pirates and Classic Space fans.
  7. Nice review. A small suggestion: you do not need to make someone else look bad to make your content look better, it can prove its value on its own.
  8. Thanks. If the review sets were sent on time, it would be much easier.
  9. The June 1st Technic sets arrived yesterday, and two F1 helmets arrived today (hooray). I have a whole bunch of half-built and unfilmed projects and constantly trying to juggle them... it's a bit frustrating.
  10. If you scroll back a bit it is there, review sets were delayed.
  11. It has a HOG knob on a longer axle than ever and features a visual aid with the yellow axle protruding from the green body. You see? Progress! :D
  12. Being critical is one thing, but baseless speculation is another. As I wrote in my previous comment, the review embargo for the June Technic wave is much closer to the street date this time, so you can expect the first reviews this Sunday if the sets arrive on time. There’s no need to put on the tinfoil hat every time a LAN review is late. Most of the time sets arrive early, but this June wave clearly had logistical difficulties, and not only for Technic. If LEGO genuinely feared criticism, they could simply shut down the review program altogether, there would be no need for some elaborate conspiracy to delay reviews by a few days. I’m also frustrated about delays or not getting certain sets in advance, but I don’t try to assume malicious intent behind every issue they have. EDIT - the sets didn't arrive, so my June Technic/Speed Champions set reviews will only come next week when I'll be able to purchase them locally.
  13. Or the embargo is way closer this time to the street date and the sets aren't even at the reviewers yet.
  14. I wouldn't expect those reviews anytime soon unfortunately, this is an August release in Europe as well.
  15. For fairness, Speed Champions is a dedicated car theme, while Technic is not (or should not be) exclusively a car theme :)
  16. Careful, we've already seen licensed F1 City sets. Someone will notice this missed opportunity soon...
  17. @Auroralampinen please remove the screenshots from your last post, as they do not provide any additional information. Additionally, these set names do not match previous rumors and were created by a new Bricklink user with no other activity. I am not very familiar with the workflow for submitting new items on Bricklink, but based on a quick check, it appears that anyone can do so and the items will appear as pending approval. I am not sure any of these sets are actually real.
  18. This seems to be a service by Ford to offer factory customization packages. The Mustang section is marked as "coming soon". Google is still your best friend :)
  19. I respect all the design work you have done in the 3D printing space and look forward to seeing what comes next here!
  20. That is an interesting insight, thanks for sharing! I think this is the fundamental difference between having dedicated set and element designer staff and working with freelancers. I hope to see CaDA hire full-time employees for these roles in the future, as that would certainly make the designs more consistent and bring a system-level perspective to the table. If we were talking about sets built strictly from basic System bricks, I would agree with you. However, these designs take advantage of the large Technic part family that LEGO has developed over decades. I know that legally, they can be reproduced or substituted with similar pieces and there's no problem with that, but in my view, real innovation and creativity begin when companies like CaDA strategically expand this part family with pieces that are useful for the community and can be used in ways similar to Technic elements.
