Very nice build. I also noticed the items on the scale. The heart seems to be too heavy compared to the ma'at feather. Not, good. Not good at all

A nice building. The skylight also caught my attention immediately. But the dollar sign minifig head is a funny feature. - I also like the book shelves and the sofas.

Not when everything else is growing too... But it surely looks good. It doesn't appear to be that tall anymore. I can't wait to see RedBaron's interior.

I think it would be a great idea to make an OAM-club. Even though I don't own the nine modulars or ever will do that, I think it could be a funny idea for those of you who are the happy OAMs. And while you are doing that, I will enjoy my two modulars

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
LAKAbricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
There were some round 2x2 tiles back in the late 80s in the castle subtheme Forestmen which were coloured as targets. I think they would be excellent as dartboards. You can see one in the Forestmen's Hideout: brickset.com/sets/6054-1/Forestmen-s-Hideout -
Though the pictures don't make a good impression of the colour, it is truly an amazing building. The details on both the outside as well as the inside are stunning. This is one of these LDD projects that just screams out to be brickbuilt. Can't wait to see the result

DENMARK right now. It comes with the weekly Anders And (Donald Duck) magazine no. 15 (10 - 16 April 2014). The price for the magazine is DKK 40. Brickset about 30226.

Grand Emporium looks good as it is sold - a single modular. But certainly no harm is done when it is expanded to this size either. I am looking forward to see where this is going to end. Not least with the interior which is where the MOD'er/MOC'er really can stand out. Please, don't feel any pressure here

Though I would more call it a MOD of 6041 Armor Shop, I think it's a great idea. It would fit perfectly to a classic castle town square or street. Never thought of that myself, but I might use the idea when I once will rebuild my castle collection. I certaily hope, we will see more classic castle styled buildings from your side, kevin1990.

At this year's LEGO World in Copenhagen the TH and FB were sold with big discounts, almost 50% off. The other modulars there were sold at normal prices. It could be a finger point to where it's going.

Thanks for reviving Avalonia City, LT. It's always good to see a classic open-back city I'm keeping watching!

Well, Kevin... This looks so interesting that pictures of the brick-built version must be published

Regarding the board game, I asked a friend if he remembers it. And he does. But he's not sure if it was his or mine. Or if we both had it. None of us has BSB, just the smaller sets.

Lego A/S now looking for a sustainable replacement for ABS
LAKAbricks replied to Phoxtane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for the info, SweetiePie. I wasn't aware of this problem. I've just read another thread in the Ambassador forum about the quality. Fortunately, I have not experienced this yet. - The only thing I have heard about is the CMF which are not always in the best quality. - These are problems that must be handled, in that I agree with you. -

Lego A/S now looking for a sustainable replacement for ABS
LAKAbricks replied to Phoxtane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It will be a big change for LEGO when they replace ABS. Good to see they are carefull about the choice. I, as an AFOL, will not stand against the change as long as it is getting at least as good as it is today. If the choice is even better for environment and health, no problem for me. I just hope they will find a white that will not turn (that much) yellow through the years -
My first minifigure: post your story
LAKAbricks replied to Mr Meleca's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well... I actually have no idea which minifig was my first. The oldest set I have got - 166 Flat Wagon from 1978, the year I was born - contains two minifigs: But if the set was my first, I have no idea about. The oldest minifig that stands out from the other minifigs I have got is the lady from 6365 Summer Cottage: When I see how nice the prints are on some old minifigs, I wonder - didn't people play with them? On most of my oldest minifigs the prints are rubbed off from playing. They might occasionally have some cracks in the side of the torso and on the arms where the hands are attached. But I don't recall any of my minifigs has lived such a hard, though adventurous, life as Mr Melecas white space man has... -
Lasse and all the team behind this wonderful layout: Congratulations! You have really made something spectacular here. All the atmosphere you have caught from the Tivoli Gardens. From the big constructions to the small shops, the flowers, the water coloumns outside Nimbs. Of the pictures you have posted above, the one with Pjerrot at the main entrance really got my attention. The building behind him - you are not in doubt where you are. It's like being there. I am happy I got to see Tivoli - as built by you guys - at the LEGO World this year.

With the cars, I don't think it's a big problem. Of course there are differences in designs - but so there are in real life. Compare the standard 1980s car to the standard 2010s car. Now it's bigger and more soft/organic in design. It gets a little more difficult with the trucks. Of course there are medium sized trucks. But putting a 4 wide truck next to a 6 wide truck - that's even half a time longer than the old truck - makes it odd looking. I still haven't made my mind up what to do. If I go for the 6 wide, I will need several new trucks But it can be a way to go. Double up of all trucks, one 4 wide and one 6 wide. Then you can always change the trucks if you want to shift between the decades.

Well... For sure, I have never been in Canada... But you have a good choice of colours in your flag I'll move to a bigger place later this year, so I should get some stuff from my parents' house. If the game is there, I will let you know. Always nice with a long build. You have to enjoy the process. And I miss the old instructions. I seldomly had any problems in finding the pieces. And the instructions didn't contain as much paper as the 3 volume instruction books we get now If I get any near to BSB - and have the money - it'll be mine. Mine! MINE!

My LEGO plans for 2014: - Wipe the dust of my built models - Take everything apart - Put the bricks in boxes and bags - Move everything to our new and bigger flat - Wash the bricks - especially the old ones - Try to make the yellowed bricks more white again - Start building my long wished layout - can't wait anymore

HomerJSimpson, sticking with this argumentation, it makes no sense to modularize open-back buildings either, as they will not be open-back anymore. The point is not in the name "modular", but in the purpose of the building. Do you want a display of "facades" then it's fine with all 4 walls. Do you want to show the exterior as well as the interior, open-back makes more sense. And for playability, the modulars are awful compared to open-back buildings, as you will have to lift off each floor every time the scene moves from one floor to another. And for me personally, I prefer buildings the classic open-back way. I happen to have a couple of modular buildings I want to integrate in my layout, hence the wish to make them open-back. That's the beautiful thing about LEGO. We can MOD and MOC it into whatever we would like. Otherwise we just can use the KRAGLE (watch The LEGO Movie to find out what it is ) - or buy a doll's house. Thanks for the link, Ogelsbob (formerly known as Legodt) Thanks jamesn, for the link. I just browsed through it. It looks really nice, more or less the way, I would like it. Thanks for reminding me of this topic, as I had forgotten it. Exactly, Colossus. Of course the modulars are made for another target group than children. But it doens't mean they cannot be used for playing the good old-fashioned way. Thanks everybody, for the many and interesting answers. I never realized that there would be such an interest for open-back modulars.

I am having plenty of time these days as I'm sick. As the updates in the fora I normally visit here on EB don't come often enough, I have visited other fora I normally don't visit. That is for example the reason I write in this thread

Well... With the products they offer, I hardly can imagine I would buy anything from these two companies. Therefore I have not voted.
