New Bricks and Pieces working for anyone?
LAKAbricks replied to sithewok's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sounds a bit like the problems I experienced with PAB last year. It is really frustrating. I started a thread about it, but not many replies about it, so I am not able to tell more about it. -
March's Double VIP- What are you buying?
LAKAbricks replied to TheFuzz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wasn't aware that there would be a double points campaign in March. I guess I will go to PAB for a new order to fil up the stocks for my MOC projects. I better start preparing my order, it always take a lot of time finding the bricks you need - and LEGO sells. -
Late 80's - Early 90's airport (extremely unoriginal, but cool
LAKAbricks replied to Breakdown's topic in LEGO Town
I can imagine the blue window frames are hard to find. Not many set have had blue window frames. I can see there have been some newer sets with blue windows, but I am not sure if it's the same blue as in the Transcon2. I hope your projects will materialize. It could be nice to see a big, classic-built passenger plane. Maybe a Transcon3? Or Intercon? -
But what an apprentice! It's quite amazing what you have achieved there. At first, I wondered what was kept in the wheelbarrow - I didn't realize it was gloves The gas trimmer is well-made.

Very elegant building, eliza. I really like the facade, not least the clever usage of the ladder Seen from the outside, I actually more come to think of an old, classy café serving delicious cakes. Inside I think you have been smart about making the candy containers, by using transparent panels.

Really great to see those planes, Breakdown. As other Eurobrickers, I also prefer the good old 4 wide, brick-built planes. What I am really happy to see in your layout is the Transcon2 passenger aircraft. It's like a bigger brother of the quad-jet from 6392 Airport. It is not that long ago, I was wondering how it would look as a passenger plane. Only thing is, I would like to build it with windows all the way down the fuselage. Otherwise it's all just looking... classic and wonderful -
The citizens of Port Belair (and other places) are lucking, they are still have a post office. Here in Denmark our post offices are being closed and then replaced by "post shops" in supermarkets. Your post office is a modern version of the 6689 Post Station.

Looks great, atkaforce. I hope to see it brickbuilt. It would be nice to see a tram in a cityscape. Or alternatively put into a cityscape made of your other interesting MOCs.

It's very different from your usual style, snaillad. First I was amazed that you had built something very modern, but then I saw the funny bubble car, and then I realized it was a 1950s' vision of the future. The car reminds me of the cartoon "The Jetsons" Very interesting build, and as usual with your detailed interior

Very interesting MOC, ShaydDeGrai. First detail to catch my eye was the big wreath on the roof, above the door. Then the smart use of The One Ring to... top them all... And then finally the fantastic SNOT'ed door. Great work

For the challenge, why not try to make a combined hardware and food store? My guess is that in many small towns around the world, different kinds of shops have been combined. And one of the most obvious combinations must be hardware and food.

WOW! - WOW! - WOW! This is really big, beautiful and so full of details. I first saw it on Flickr, I got speechless. It is really amazing, cimddwc. The busy café, the small shops, offices. What I really like in the architecture is the big window/glass wall with the clock

My wife and I have an office (hobby room) with each our desks, so I mainly sit at the desk building, though I also use dinner table or sofa when building. It depends on what I am building. MOCs on the desk for sure, bigger models might be built at the dinner table and smaller ones whereever I find fit - like the sofa.

Today I am able to transfer my PAB cart to the shopping cart. Of course not in the first try, but it worked. But now I am not able to check out the shopping cart. I am continously asked to log in. After logging in, I am returned to the shopping cart and can start over again. I must say, it is really, really, REALLY hard to spend money on S@H these days...

Very nice, Yooha. This year, I don't have an advent calendar, so it's nice to see this one. You have plenty of good - and small - ideas. I think, I like the winter home the most. So far.

It looks very nice, LT. Can't wait to see interior (as usual) and the art deco lettering. I like the gasoline stands and lamps are red. It really makes it stand out.

I am experiencing the same when I want to check the order status. I also did experience it the last time I made an order.

Tervetuloa and welcome to Eurobricks, Heksu. This summer, I went to Karelia in Finland with my family, and we even flew in and out of the airport in Kuopio, but unfortunately we never made it to the city, and hence I haven't seen the tower. But I definately will try to visit Kuopio and the Puijo Tower next time, I get the possibility. You have made it very well and detailed. Really impressive, how you made the cone. You have really used quite an amount of rocker bricks. How many bricks do you estimate are included in the project? And how long did it take to make the tower? And finally - does the kahvila (café) sell karjalanpiirakat (Karelian pastries)? I really have a wish to eat that now...

Luckily my PAB cart kept the bricks in memory from time to time - but not browser to browser, so that was (luckily) not an issue. Right now, I don't remember, if the order successeded in Safari or Chrome. But for future orders, I will also try one of these first.

Hi! Have you ever had any problems when transferring your PAB order to the shopping cart on LEGO.com? Several times I have not been able transferring the order to the shopping cart when using my Opera browser. Then I have tried it in alternative browsers, and have been able to perform the order. But tonight it is all horrible. First Opera, then Safari and finally Chrome. In neither of the browsers I was able to transfer the order to the shopping cart. Whether I clicked "Update Bag" or "Go to Shopping Cart" nothing happened. Have you tried that before? I finalIy have been able to tranferring my order to the shopping cart. After two hours! - If the product was not unique and I didn't have a gift voucher, I would have given up long ago and chosen another webshop... /Laka

Quite an amount of goods in this hardware store. It's looking great, jonwil. I can easily be inspired by many of your ideas for my MOC projects. - I like the department with things for cleaning - it really looks like some of the poisonous stuff with lots of colour and fragrance you can buy

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
LAKAbricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I first saw the picture in the Flickr stream. It took me a while, before I realised I was looking at the new DO. I like it. It's very American to me, but I realise you need both to appeal to a wider audience. When will we see some more Latin-inspired buildings, though? I think this set is a nice deviation from the typical more posh buildings seen in the modular range. This shows there are other sides of the city. And hey, a detective's office can't be placed in the High Street next to the fancy department store, can it? I like the addition of one or two flats in the blue building. People of Lego City need places to live. This could be a place for Mr. and Mrs. Jones. To me it seems there are no stairs in the buildings. I guess that would be a first? - Personally I don't care that much. I prefer open-back buildings, the classic way, anyway
