A battle pack of named characters. 42040 Fire Plane

Well, the only Uniter I have is Tahu, and I don't really like him that much... he seems more generic, and certainly a lot less streamlined, than last year's model. I wonder what he'll look like next year... hopefully a much better design. I do wish I had some of the Creatures, but no stores around me ever seem to have them in stock.

IIRC, the BvS Batmobile and the Constraction TFA Stormtrooper were revealed at SDCC last year... and when has anything been revealed on schedule lately, anyway? I think we'll see this before the 21st...

I remember seeing identical spam posts in EVERY SINGLE FORUM AT ONCE a while back... it got dealt with very quickly IIRC. Maybe I should join the spam-reporting ranks... (can we have a "sneaky" emoticon please?)

Possible new Speed Champions set? New FORD GT / Classic GT40
PicnicBasketSam replied to P3_Super_Bee's topic in LEGO Town
The one on the left looks official, esp. with those new parts on the front and near the rear wheelwells. I don't know about the one on the right... it looks kind of strange around the hood area, but you never know what new things they might do. So yeah, this could well be the "two cars pitted against each other" set of 2017... -
Lego Ninjago 2016
PicnicBasketSam replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have mixed feelings about that... but Jackie Chan as Sensei Wu ought to be good. Also, I think the reason they did this is because it's easier to market movies whose casts aren't made up of people general audiences don't know. Now, I don't recognize any of these actors bar 2, but still... Those preliminary figures though... EDIT: If Cole wears brown, what about Dareth? -

Finding Dory. Hank was the best character in the whole thing. Still pretty sad though... -

That looks nothing like Perry the Platypus! In the meantime, here are some more.... interesting.... things I've found recently: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/145288 Why? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/145222 and https://ideas.lego.com/projects/145228: Aren't there rules against theme suggestions? Not to mention the awful builds... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/144959 It's just an alternate model for a Creator set released 4 years ago... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/144798 What. The. Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not a full year earlier, just a few months. The first Marvel sets came out to tie in with The Avengers. And this time last year people were complaining about DC getting treated better because they got more D2C sets... -
Also, the hot dog suit is in LDD under the name "Costume No. 1".

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The CTT is a well-made, attractive model, with nice minifigures, even though it's a bit small, and it's recognizable as what it's supposed to be. They are asking $110 for an ugly ship that only appeared in 1 episode of Rebels that aired a year ago, which only has 4 figures, two of which are repeats and one of which is really terrifically boring. That's ridiculous. -
@Vindicare: YES! The only young adult dystopian movie adaptations I've watched are the Maze Runner's (read the other two popular trilogies... didn't much like them) and the second one is pretty awful, both as an adaptation and an actual movie. Also, The Giver as an action flick. That sucked.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
^^Okay, yes, the StarScavenger is awful. But still... I do not think that Ahsoka set is worth as much as the Clone Turbo Tank, and especially not worth MORE than either Ultra Agents base, Benny's Spaceship, that evil Elves castle, the Bridge Battle, the Imperial Shuttle, etc. -
Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to just2good's topic in Culture & Multimedia
^Well... Inside Out actually would work perfectly well with a sequel without it feeling cash-grabby. *cough* Cars 2 & 3, Monsters University *cough*. Not many Pixar movies seem written so a sequel's existence would make sense without it feeling like "we could make a franchise out of this and make MONEY!" The other would be The Incredibles 2.- 279 replies

By and large, with Harry Potter, I prefer the books, except Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows. OoTP the movie worked much better at telling that story than the 900-page book did IMO, and I didn't like book 7 or movies 7-8. Narnia: Books by a large margin. 1st movie is good, 2nd is generic action flick, 3rd is really really boring. This is not on the list, but The True Meaning of Smekday is 10000 times better than it's Disneyfied version.

Bleh. That set isn't interesting enough to pay $110 for--now if it WAS, it might be worth the money. Also, @ArmstrongYong, the Freemaker Adventures sets aren't overpriced so much... boring, sure, but not TOO expensive. -
The one time the original Batman line actually timed something well. 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle

^^I would go with the Marvel sets myself. ^Pet Shop, or Brick Bank if you really want it.

^^That one made in Build With Chrome posted on the first couple pages... that didn't have wheels, just colorful squares? Anyway, I found this gem today: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/143895 , also this https://ideas.lego.com/projects/143813 and this https://ideas.lego.com/projects/143668. Who doesn't want LEGO Portal 2? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/143596 Wait a minute... -
Well.... I know my little sister would love a Star Trek line, but it seems like that would be pretty hard to do considering MB has the license, as well as several licenses LEGO has held in the past (TMNT, SpongeBob). It is probably worth pointing out that they had the rights to make Marvel building toys between the LEGO Spider-Man 2 and Avengers 1 lines. Now, if the MB sets were any good, I would take a look... but even their promotional video shows pieces not even fitting properly on the front of the Enterprise. So no. Personally, I'd rather have a Harry Potter theme (a proper one) than Star Trek... there's a new book coming out this summer and a spinoff movie trilogy(?) starting this fall, plus that Dimensions set, so why not?
