Both of these movies look good! Justice League is certainly going to be better than BvS, and Wonder Woman looks awesome. Flash was very funny. This is definitely going to be lighter in tone than the previous movie.

I've never read the Dr. Strange comics... but wow. Cumberbatch is perfect, and the sheer visual weirdness of it is going to make me see it in theaters. Aside from the fact that it'll be probably one of the best solo Marvel films. They really have a streak going here, with increasingly bizarre movies coming out every year and being very successful nonetheless. I like this!

This movie looks so much fun. I can't wait!

Well, there's a reasonably priced AT-ST in the Rogue One sets... awesome. I'm going to get it, even if it's not very poseable. Other things I want: -updated Snowspeeder -TIE Interceptor and Bomber -a Y-Wing (last one was in 2012, I missed it completely. I know X-Wing's are more iconic, but there's a decent TFA one out now and they haven't made one that I actually like... Poe's has a whole slew of problems)

Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!
PicnicBasketSam replied to Columbus019's topic in Community
I watched Jang's review of the big Enterprise, to see if it would be a good gift for my Trekkie sister... the saucer section looks kind of odd with the studs everywhere, and those figures look awful. Sorry, MB, I'll be happy to wait until LEGO gets the Trek license. That seems to be MB's big selling point for anything these days... licenses.- 68 replies

Wait a minute... I have a new theory: The ending of Interstellar was actually Mr. Nolan's audition to direct a Trek movie! That whole "5th dimension" thing was Q saving the day in the least comprehensible way possible!

I really enjoyed the 2009 movie despite its plot holes... and research failures such as huge cliffs in Iowa. Into Darkness wasn't very good... Cumberbatch was terrific, but the plot is one part stupid and one part carbon copy of Wrath of Khan. And some of the special effects were pretty bad as well, particularly in the opening.

Nexo Knights 2016
PicnicBasketSam replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I only have 2 Nexo Knights sets, but this is quite clearly not Castle. Just Castle-themed Sci-Fi/Fantasy sets. However, I would like to note that a lot of 6-year-olds would go "That looks so much cooler!" in regards to a $20 Nexo Knights set, like Lance's Mecha Horse, over whatever $20 Castle set might be on the shelf. With big castles that's probably different... however, when I was younger, I went over to another kid's house for something and he had, like, 12 Fantasy Era sets all set up on a table, and that was really, really cool. I don't think Nexo works as well as a collection, but works with individual sets (or 2 sets that can combine/switch parts around) and that's probably better for the target audience. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
$50 for that car?! That's ridiculous, with that piece count and size it really ought to be more like $40. Also, only 3 figures in a $50 set? That seems kind of low... yeah, I know they're all new and really detailed, but still. Maybe all of these sets have low minifig counts-- I mean, the Batmobile has a repeat figure, so it's really more like 4 figures. Hmm. I can't wait to see the rest of these sets! Woo-hoo! -
Those Chima sets..
PicnicBasketSam replied to anothergol's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah... back in June, my local Walmart had the Tiger's Mobile Command set and a bunch of other Chima sets in the clearance section for half off. I get the feeling nobody wanted them... I sure didn't. I'm pretty sure that's why Chima was killed off so abruptly: The designs were getting worse and worse! -
The best of the worst Lego Ideas
PicnicBasketSam replied to anothergol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is not the sort of thing that would ever, ever be made this way: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/148092 And this is very well built, but a blatant ripoff of Research Institute: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/147690 -
collisions in LDD
PicnicBasketSam replied to J_C's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You can sort of align parts along X, Y, and Z axis in LDD. Place Technic axles in the directions you like and slide half-bushes along them... then use the multiple selection tool and click on what you want to move and the half-bushing, and drag the part along with the bushing. I have used this MANY times to place things where they won't connect. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Did everybody forget that we've already seen the Rogue One sets...? Or is this about the Death Star? In which case, it will likely be officially revealed in August (or earlier) for VIP early access a month later. That's usually how it works these days. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just looked at the "Online Only" section. That's really bizarre. It's also screwing over people in Canada, because Target no longer exists up there. I wonder what their good reason is for not selling some of THEIR toys in THEIR OWN stores... -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, wow, there's a whole lot of nothing in there. They didn't even bother to sticker the control panels! Seems like a lot of wasted space. Especially if there isn't any sort of interior in the rear end of the ship... I see a needless gear mechanism for folding back those missile pod wing thingies, but this thing is so basic that it can't all be structure in there. -
More of a specific part... but since the X-Wing now has a proper canopy piece, perhaps the Y-Wing and Snowspeeder could as well? They've been using the EXACT SAME inaccurate piece for those ships for 17 years now. It's not like they would do a brick-built canopy like many AFOLs have in a set for 7-year-olds... This is why I've never bought a Snowspeeder. The 2004 design wasn't very good to begin with, but it's barely been modified since.

Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
PicnicBasketSam replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Speed Champions is OK. But I would love a redo of those awesome pull-back trucks that would smash to pieces when crashed into a wall.- 438 replies

I'd like to point out what someone else said about the A-Wing--just because we didn't SEE it during Episode IV doesn't mean it wasn't around then. Maybe they had TIE Interceptors somewhere else... or the Rebels did something offscreen that resulted in TIE Interceptors not being in the trench battle... or they just didn't send them out. Or maybe it's a simple continuity error because they hadn't come up with them yet during production of ANH.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm just glad to hear they acknowledged 75098. Seriously, though, releasing two $350+ sets at the same time doesn't sound like a terribly good idea... I agree, the Death Star will come out October 1st. -

LEGO Ideas Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I voted for it, just to see what would happen. I honestly wouldn't have if it hadn't had 9000 supporters already. I didn't get a satisfactory answer as to how, though... -
Apparently there's a Gym in the North Korean side of the DMZ.

Looks a lot better than the Ghostbusters story pack. And what is that, anyway? Some sort of mole?
