Nexo Knights 2016
PicnicBasketSam replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
WOW! That's probably my favorite Knights' vehicle yet! Also, has Whiperella's hair been seen anywhere else? It's in LDD already for some reason. -

Doesn't Ahsoka have white lightsabers? Nifty set though. -

Wow. That's a real stinker. Not only does it make no sense, it's a godawful model! -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
PicnicBasketSam replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think it's a calling card of a certain designer... the guy who designed Super Hero Airport Battle has made, like, three sets, and it's the only one with a fire extinguisher. I think it's simply a running gag with the whole Marvel team. -

@Blondie-Wan: Assault on Hoth. EDIT: Oh dear god... those Minecraft ones... EDIT2: @Verunder: But LEGO doesn't make castles or City buildings. -
Maybe Coulson could be a supporting character in something like Captain Marvel, so the audience knows that he's alive, but the Avengers don't meet him until Infinity War. Just a thought.

That shutter thingy is too big. Try the other, smaller one--it works. -

A lot less themes this year?
PicnicBasketSam replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ultra Agents and the Lego Movie came out in 2014. You missed Speed Champions and Elves for 2015. Ghostbusters isn't new for 2016, the Ecto-1 came out in 2014. Your argument isn't entirely valid... there are huge amounts of sets being released for big themes, at the expense of the one-shot themes. The only one so far this year is Angry Birds, compared to about four last year. -
Bleh. I might be alone in this thinking, but I do not like Umarak 2.0. At all. He seems kind of unfinished... he looks good at first glance, and then you see the neck... and the face ... and the legs. I can't get behind this guy. If his head didn't use black connectors with holes in them as part of a solid gold mask... maybe... but right now Quake Beast is the only set of these that I actually want.

What was the last movie you watched?
PicnicBasketSam replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Civil War, on Sunday. Brilliant film, I really enjoyed how they made that last fight... sad. Not a fun sequence like the airport battle at all. -
Thank you very much, LegoPegasister09! Um, a few things... one, everything I've built and only those sets are tagged "officialsets" in that gallery. Two, everything I uploaded before March 14 needs to be updated to LDD 4.3.9... rather extremely in the case of the Ninjago and Nexo Knights sets.

The airport battle is very accurate, except for Sharon's inclusion... but why did they feel the need to throw in that luggage cart? I don't think that was in the movie. Crossbones' Hazard Heist is OK... the truck doesn't look like an actual Humvee, but everything's there. Black Panther Pursuit doesn't really make any sense to the movie-- Black Panther's plane and the fight between him, Cap, and Bucky are completely different scenes, and I don't remember the Jeep being there at all. I would have liked to see a playset of part of the Raft with Stark-pooping chopper, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Stark, mask-less Black Panther, and Secretary Ross for maybe $50.

Hey, LegoPegasister09? I have an LXF of that set on the official LEGO LDD Gallery, run a search for 75098. It fixes some of the flex tube and alignment issues.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
PicnicBasketSam replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really, aside from Kylo Ren's shuttle, the TFA sets are pretty accurate. Poe's X-Wing is one of the WORST sets to me, because the wings are so floppy... the rubber band is the only thing holding them in place, and it doesn't so that well. I'm sad to see that the summer X-Wing doesn't actually appear to fix anything about that... Also, if they put out a TIE for Rogue One, we'd have 3 TIE's in a year. Which would be good with me, because 75101 would then lower in price enough to be worthwhile. -
I would guess Leia represents one of those governing planets that gets exploded in TFA. I don't even know what they are, other than Coruscant Wannabe.

^That sounds about right... of course, Superman was the "strong, silent, angsty" guy in his movie and Spidey never actually shut up, but still. Jokes like this are commonplace... who remembers the thing where it says "This guy (Rocket Raccoon) saved more civilians than Superman did in Man of Steel."

LDD 4.3.9 bugs and issues
PicnicBasketSam replied to JC75's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I cannot place the claw pieces introduced in the 2011 Hero Factory sets into either one of the 2014 Beast feet, except angled all the way down so the claw is mostly under the foot itself. I discovered that whilst updating Attack of the Morro Dragon. Also, that bley tube introduced with the LEGO Movie sets isn't entirely flexible enough... proof is 75098, which I uploaded an LXF file of to the official LDD gallery. Two of the tubes simply will not bend enough to fit into the right place. The driving ring extender piece still will not connect to a Technic pin, but it will fit if scaffolded. A 1x1 cone will still not fit all the way down on a Technic axle. The conveyor belt piece is a hot mess, parts of it will not register as connected to other parts at random. The large ski-shaped piece used as landing gear has a solid stud instead of a hollow stud, which has screwed up at least one Chima set... so is the 2x4x2 curved panel used as Giant-Man's face. All of the recent "tribal flame"- type pieces cannot be dual-colored. The motorcycle fairing used in Nexo Knights hover-horses cannot connect to the pneumatic connector thing it's supposed to in said hover-horses. -
@Ultron: Fair enough, but they could at least have shown a little bit of what she's doing... that movie could have used a "Where Are They Now?" montage like Winter Soldier did. Also, the end credits scene with Spidey was hilarious.
-
Yeah... it looks nice, but a bit too curvy for the heavily angular aesthetic of the real thing. I wonder if a Snowspeeder (or Y-Wing...) would look good with the new-ish X-Wing canopy?

Just got back from the movie... it was fantastic, but a couple of things bothered me. Ant-Man barely appeared after the airport battle scene, and Black Widow just kinda disappeared from the movie after giving Tony a cryptic warning. I also think it was a bit overstuffed, but it was better in that respect than AOU or BvS.

^No no no, that's not how it's going to be. Han is going to actually shoot Kylo, but he will dramatically reveal a bulletproof vest and THEN stab him. It is the George Lucas way!
