Very much a coarse and angular look, very reminiscent of dwarven architecture. I'm most impressed with those buttresses at ground level, the shaping of the crenellations, and the way you did those hexagonal towers, especially the roofed one.

I think I spotted 5 different minifig torso's: both Vending Machine pirate torso's, new Steve, a kind of fairy princess torso (the mauve one) and a black torso on one of the booms.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GeoBrick replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, its €20 cheaper then on the Finnish LEGO.com site, so... -
Nice curvature of the hull, the interior is well adorned, and color choices are superb. Extra brownie points for the way you depicted the cabin door.

The first two and the fourth are definitely ones I need to try out at some point. The cow cart and the wall beneath it are interesting, but the halter over the cow looks a bit too complicated for its purpose, and the wall section would need to be interspaced with wooden sections for windows and doors.

Impressive. Besides the flowing feel of the rockscape, I'm most impressed with the both waterfall's bas-reliefs and the trumpet guard tower, especially the crenellations. I can't see enough of the terraces to comment there, but they look rife with activity.

Its likely the torso will be included in the BDP 7 set "Privateer Frigate Fortuna", available for pre-order next February. I noticed it is also included in the BDP 6 set "Gold Mine Expedition", available for pre-order starting October 6. Just throwing this out in case you're interested in either set.

Restore this Renegade Runner or buy a complete one?
GeoBrick replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oh no, I don"t have IKEA cabinets in my home. And they're mostly with glass doors, so I can check the sets without opening the cabinet. Though at some point I did consider the BESTÅ series. -
Restore this Renegade Runner or buy a complete one?
GeoBrick replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Pirates
Very nostalgic. I have the same setup in my apartment regarding cabinets. And they're always filled to the brim. -
Its a bit stark inside, but the futuronaut has all the basic amenities. There's even an airlock. I like the style. A basic cylindrical tower with side covers to break the monotony. Maybe it need some more control panels, or more variation on the existing ones (computer screen for instance).

I like those tricorders...

Strictly speaking, all of those wouldn't be a Minas Tirith set, but a Fields of Pelennor set.

Well, the rumour back then wasn't wrong. Our beloved Renegade merely arrived a couple months later. -
[MOC] Forestmen's River Fortress | Remaster
GeoBrick replied to Kozikyo86's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Some good color choices here. For example, the dark brown flooring complements nicely with the black trees and the dark transparent blue water. Good scale of the furniture, and enough to fill the rooms. I like your solution for the crenellations. Normally, the higher part would be on the corner end of each wall section, but you just turned it around. The parts I'm less convinced with are the height above water level of the cell and the deck next to it. The prisoner could drown if a flood came through. And the choice of those 1x4 spaghetti tubes for the windows on the angled wall sections. It clashes a bit with the overall angular theme of the MOC. -
Well, LEGO could start with the center 'slice': the great gate of the city with attending bastions, and perhaps (part of) the rock that towers above it. They'll have to make sure to bring out the most expensive set first though, just as they did with Rivendell.

[OFFICIAL] LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
GeoBrick replied to CloneCommando99's topic in LEGO Pirates
I thought that for a missing part of a new set one could order a replacement through the site, without having to talk with an customer support employee? That said, it is always possible that new parts (which the sails truly are) are not yet entered into the system's database, or simply not available yet. In any case, you should be able to find the part number of that sail in the parts list of the instructions booklet. -
An incredible creation! And despite the macaber theme, the color palette does lean towards the cheery side.

[BDP] Merchant ship. (Resubmitted for Series 10!)
GeoBrick replied to Elephant Knight's topic in Pirate MOCs
You seem to have found 4 separate printed torso's, so that's good. Merchants sailed with as small crews as possible anyway. Talking about sails, I like how each of those are differently folded. Gives the ship an even more unique look. -
[BDP] Merchant ship. (Resubmitted for Series 10!)
GeoBrick replied to Elephant Knight's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looks like a real contender. Did you have to make many sacrifices over your vision on how to build the ship over the constraints of available elements in BDP9? Also, kuddo's on putting what looks to be a sizeable cargo hold underneath the gun deck. Important detail for a trading vessel. -
[MOC] Setting Out From Bluestone Castle
GeoBrick replied to evancelt's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's alot of plates and ingots to build up the walls. Makes the dark blue crenallation bricks feel a bit rough as a result. I wouldn't expect to have the yellow banners work with the blueish castle as background, but it does! Landscaping is super. A bit of greebling in front, towards the back curved, and the edges with plants or trees. Nice composition. I see what you mean with plates popping. In the largest size I see the flooring of the crenalations lifted a bit upwards. -
Its cute. I like the wheels. But the name really is larger then the vehicle.

Now let's hope they come out in some Insiders Program set... -
Beautiful scene. Those orange roofs really pop out well. The temple's green roof feels dim in comparison. Talking about the temple, nice composition on the walls, the place looks quite tranquil. My favorite parts must be the zigzag pattern on the sawmill's roof and the little pond just north of the fishing village. By the way, how did you achieve that tumbleweed look for the village huts? It looks like you used *alot* of flex ziplines (27965), but how you attached them (and to what) can't be seen on the pictures.

You know nothing, Don. 😁 As SP89 already said, the southern coast area is still temperate. You get more snow in the winter throughout early spring compared to us though. And of course its darker in winter.
