Well, it's actually been a while since I completed it and took the pics, but I have finally updated the first post with pictures of the completed ship! EKnight

And here I thought the figure head would be met with some eye rolls. When the ship is finished, I will tell the story behind why I choose it. Eknight

Who is this Stan you speak of? Eknight

Plate, Round 2 x 2 with Rounded Bottom (Boat Stud) - Who use it?
Elephant Knight replied to Siroco's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't use them in their intended use, but my MOCs also aren't designed to be played with by children. I also don't have any carpet in my house. My kids are already playing with Lego, but so far they are mostly only interested in things with wheels. Eknight -
[MOC] Belle Riva 80-gun Ship of the line
Elephant Knight replied to Franco Clarke's topic in Pirate MOCs
What a formidable ship! Absolutely massive! It's a scale that I don't know if I will ever build, I love seeing these massive MOCs, especislly when they are as well built as this. The large brick built flag worries me a bit. Does it ever fall off due to its weight? Eknight -

Ahoy there! I have completed my frigate for the Governors! A full broadside of cannons! A close up on the head figure and bow of the ship: So, the story behind the headfigure is something like this: One day my brother and I were talking about hockey, and how one player (Brad Marchand) had a French sounding name. And since he is known to be a bit of a "rat", the idea of using that printed mouse/rat slope for a headfigure on a ship somehow took place. The deck detailing is as much as I ever do. still, I am happy with it. The cabin got some detailing in it, not something I do all the time these days. "Here is the map, sir!" "Umm, are you forgetting something?" As always, let me know what you think! EKnight

I seem to be in a minority in that I think I may actually like this a bit more than the previous. I thought the first one was too colourful, this one is a lot more muted. 4 figs vs 3 and a skeleton is preferred, and they do look great! When I actually have it built in hand I will know for sure which I like more, but for now, I am kinda leaning towards this new one.
