  1. This is really spectacular. Beautiful buildings and arrangement. The windmills are really little masterpieces! I would perhaps make the ground a little bit more intersting though. Some variation in colour, a couple of rocks and plants like bushes here and there. Maybe a path as well.
  2. Beautifully designed scene. Colours and greebling work very nicely together - and the roof is incredibly elegant! Wonderful work
  3. I guess the hotdog vendor will win anyway, so time to vote for honest abe!
  4. Excellent review and quite a strong series! I also find the comparison to older series' minifigs quite interesting though. Gives an idea of the coherence with each other and how (if) they improved since. Bjt I don't really get the fuss about the "Mr. Mysterious" did I miss anything?
  5. I was tempted, but his appearance actually made me choosing the Caveman instead. We also got already a lot of kings, but the caveman is a first. A hairy, unwashed first with bad manners, but a first!
  6. Excellent build! So much atmosphere! A proper, absolutely realistic police station. And its a beauty as well. Great start for your first moc!
  7. Holy brick, now that is quite a lead! Yes, I voted for him as well. Can't not love evil black knights!
  8. A lovely little street scene. The buildings look excellent. The facades are very well done, but my favourite is the glass roof with the framework. Could be just as well an official modular judging for its overall neatness and detailing!
  9. Hilarious idea! Superfunny look and reaction of the soldiers. Brilliant!
  10. I blame this set for kickstarting my star wars addiction collection back in 2015. A beautiful set and indeed full of interesting minifigures and pieces. I can also highly recommend it and being a civilian building its also a welcome breath of fresh air from the usual combat-oriented sets. Your review is absolutely brilliant. Text, photos and fun little jokes - there is nothing left to wish for. Well done!
  11. It just has to be the forest maiden for me as well. Such a lovely little minifig! Combines so much I like about Lego Castle
  12. Very nice! That's a proper cantina with a lot of diverse guests. Obviously from all corners of the universe Very atmospheric.
  13. And just a matter of time till someone makes a launchtower for it in the same scale. Can't wait!
  14. So far we had only a handful votes. Things can turn quickly later. And admittedly, the zombie cheerleader is really cute.
  15. So very cute. Lovely shaping and clever choice of pieces!
  16. Indeed it was. But when you looked at the shelves of the toy stores around the time, there weren't terribly many sets on display. Unlike Star Wars. And while the Hobbit films were successful they didn't have the impact the LOTR films had as a cultural phenomenon.
  17. The Banshee's my favourite as well. A modern, beautifully double-moulded and charming take on lego ghosts - what not to like on her!
  18. You take the words right out of my mouth. These two really stand out from the more recent sets. They are brilliant and carry over so much charme from classic castle. With all the advantages of modern pieces and printing!
  19. I also don't expect the theme returning anytime soon. Licenses like that are very expensive to aquire, and sadly the sales didn't match that Investment. Seems TLG came a couple of years too late here. I am also sceptic if there will be a new medieval fantasy theme around at all in the near future. Nexo Knights is more into scifi and the last venture in the classic castle direction wasn't really brilliant either.
  20. The Egyptian Queen is very cute but ultimately its the Viking Woman for me. Even if she insists singing Wagner operas all the time!
  21. Welcome to eurobricks!
  22. Hello and welcome to Eurobricks!
  23. Well, it looks like a less close competition this time
