Thats very cool. So dynamic! The gramophone looks absolutely legit and - my god - this must been indeed a headache to build Just superb: Colours, builds - fits all into place. I would perhaps remove the red base for the singer. It might work better without.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Littleworlds replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the set will be very popular and seems to be more on the impulse-buy side than a Saturn V So I see them as rather complementary really from that point. Its just healthy to have small sets in your portfolio as well. -
Ideas can come from everywhere really. Certain lines and shapes I see somewhere - taken into a new context... also I like steampunk and dieselpunk, so there is a lot to draw ideas from for me naturally as well. Also sometimes the need for a certain build occurs as an addon for a certain set, sometimes I see a certain piece where I think "this would be great as ...". Picking up ideas from other MOCs is a big influence as well. There are so many creative ways of combining pieces. I also don't plan too far ahead when building. I have a rough idea where I want to go but then the lack (or abundance) of certain parts has an influence how a build develops. Generally I think limitation helps creativity though. If you need a certain part, which is a bricklink order away - try finding a different way instead

[MOC] Death Star scenes and special effects
Littleworlds replied to hachiroku's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really impressive! Vader in his mask looks almost uncanningly like the real one. Well, actually every bit does! Amazing work! -
Ha! I am quite a Lovecraft fan and this set definitely won me over. The set has quite a striking look with its weird geometry, which is very appropriate to the story. Love it

Excellent review again! The set itself doesn't convinces me though, but it features some really intereting parts and building ideas!- 17 replies

Excellent build and amazing storytelling. The fight scenes are very immersive and superbly photographed. Getting such pictures done with minifigures is not a small feat! Great work!

The kitchen looks really amazing! So many details and creative solutions. Brilliant! As for lego ideas, I am afraid I have to agree with peedeejay. The build would clash with the existing modulars and I also think the show itself is not popular enough worldwide to generate enough interest. This doesn't diminishes your build though, which is absolutely outstanding!

Looks very good! I like the wooden upper floor. That features some really good work combining colours. The little scenes around it are very well done as well. As for the walls of the ground floor: I can see that you are not happy with them. Maybe give them some rough-stone texture with different-sized pieces and snot tiles?

The rear looks so cool. So many engines wanting to push this thing forward! The ship definitely gives the impression that you better dont mess with it. Great job

LEGO Ideas Discussion

I think that post really sums up the issues the other submissions had nicely. Additionally I find the merchant's house too close in style and purpose to the fishing store. And while I can understand the frustrations of people who put a lot of effort into their submissions (and there are a lot of ideas which never made it to 10k in the first place, which have made superb sets), I have no sympathy for the "political correctness running crazy" comments. That's just so wrong... I don't know where to start! -

I completely agree with you. Complaining about a female over-representation is just ridiculous. -

Reading the reactions on the current ideas-round I frankly cannot understand the outrage: The men of Nasa are getting a hulking huge Apollo 11 rocket and the next round sees women of Nasa - per piece-count the guys are still way ahead -
Lucas' concept for them was originally inspired by the Viet Cong, so here we go I am rather happy though that we got spared such scenes of mass slaughter. It would have put off quite a lot people, I think. The original trilogy was never much into showing direct violence. Apart from its habit of cutting arms off with lightsabers A middle ground would have been nice. Somewhere between cute and fluffy teddies and Apocalypse Now in space!

I think that was at least his plan. No idea if it worked out... for my part, I already didn't like the Ewoks when I had my first Star Wars encounter in VHS

I have heard about the Jar-Jar being a hidden sith idea as well. Ah yes, here is a video about it. I think its possible, but would be quite an emotionally alienating move towards the kids who grew up and were very fond of him. You can't rule it out though, as weird as it sounds!

Another excellent review. Very extensive, with very good photos, leaving not really any open questions. I find the set pretty interesting, thanks to the characters and the pieces, which should do well in a classical medieval fantasy context. The armour-piece looks quite good too. but adds so much bulk to the minifigure... its almost a small exo-suit -

Fun short story! I'd like to see how this ends. Or maybe better not. ;-) The lab and its equipment look very good and the lighting is really impressive! :-)
