General MOC-Discussion, WIP-Help, and Teaser Thread
Bart replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hello all! Lately I've only been active in the BOBS corner of EB, after being away a while. But I've build a frigate for BOBS and I wanted to let those who don't check frequently in there know, as double posting isn't aloud in EB here's a link. Please let me know what you think of her, there :)- 315 replies

The barque Narwal, the ship of Captain Rodsh Derr: Barque Narwal 4 by Bart, on Flickr Barque Narwal by Bart, on Flickr Barque Narwal 2 by Bart, on Flickr Barque Narwal 3 by Bart, on Flickr A single deck frigate, with a barque rig. Armed with 12 cannons on the gun deck each side, the six centre guns are the big Lego pieces and the six on the fore and aft are smaller brick build. (I''m not really sure wat the common lore is fore the size of guns, were the Lego ones 32 pounds? and brick build 16, or was it 16 and 8?) And in addition to that six swivels on the stern and two swivels and two carronades on the forecastle. You see her here under the command of Cathy Derr, normally the first mate, as Rodsh is off on an adventure. The Narwal has just finished careening on a beach near King's Harbour and are no underway chasing a rumour Cathy picked up during the Ball. This ship grew out of the cabin I build as an approach to the Ball, I first intended to build only a side and use it as a decor in my AMRCA opening post, but it turned into a full ship by accident. Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking good Legostone, I like the minifig as ornament of the side of the stern. -
*added to mental wish list* Nautical fact spillage: In the modern merchant navy 3 stripes (the top one with the executive curl) is for a First Mate, a Captain has 4 stripes (top with curl) *not taking into account national differences on the design, stars, anchors, crossing stripes and others, the number of stripes has the same meaning.

MOC: Le Fleuron, 1729 third rate French ship of the line.
Bart replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice ship Captain! I like al the details, great thinking of putting a deck curve on the poop deck, and I like that you installed a whip-staff instead of a wheel. What are the four black rods up in front of the mizzen supposed to represent? Fun to see you are still using the old style ship prefabs, that stern piece is much better then the modern version. (to bad LDD doesn't support the old model :/) Bart- 53 replies

Very nice clothing shop Spud. I like the fact that you took that bluecoat 'off the mannequin' and showed a plane white torso after that. Do I see a uniform jacket besides that one with (modern) first mate stripes on the sleeve. Never knew lego had those! Bart

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I had a Sea-Rat island in mind, but it's still a bit speculative. I know about the squatter's having a change to be absorbed by another faction, but did that ever happen? Bart -

Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks for the clarification Capt Wolf, As a Sea-Rat I believe I do not require a charter, as we have no ruling body to give such a charter. So any building can start a settlement (besides the charter)? Bart -

As far as I understood a plantation isn't tight to a settlement, but to the island, correct? It doesn't influance the city/town/largetown statuses Drawing upon that, can one build a plantation on an island that has no settlement? -

Bart replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice presentation! I see a whole new business opportunity here! We searats should invest in to the Opium production/trade/distribution etc -
Very nice Easter build @Drunknok *now I know what colour the eggs are, I used one in red as a mast tip piece on the DMDR 6

[SR - FB 2 - MAR 18] A Smoking Room
Bart replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A fine build, the whole scene breaths upper-class gentlemen's club. I like how the two pipe smoking persons appear to be discussing something on that map. -
Good showcase of different building techniques and non-standard part use.

[COR WTC] WayMart Flagship Store, Mesabi Landing
Bart replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That is one properly stocked store, and then there is the basement :P I really love the abacus! The whole build has a good allround finished look to it. -
Nice scene! great way of showing the process. How did you connect the quarter round pieces of the oven? I didn't know they could do it like that overlapping one and another.

[COR-FB] King's Harbour Vineyard
Bart replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice kolom of marching soldiers, I like how they are coming down a hill, it gives the whole build more depth. The grapevines are very well build, good thinking of putting them diagonal across the base, and a excellent choice of colour. -

House by the River, King's Harbour, Cocovia
Bart replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice house, interesting brickwork technique, a mix of 1x2 plates and 1x2 flats I assume? I like the brown shutters on the inside of the window's gives them a much more open look compared to shutters on the outside, while still showing nothing of an interior. Looks like ducks to me too :p- 12 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Is there a place where you can see the information of Trade Companies? Like; which players are in it, what ships do they own, buildings, settlements, what monopolies are they granted. stuf like that, a bit like a settlement thread. -
Well build mine! I like the use of the green to show the vein of silver ore. And great work on taking the photographs the way you did really feels like you've taken them inside a mine. I bet those miners never dreamed of being that close to the temple. Bart

Nice build Mesabi, I hadn't thought of an ink factory before. I agree with Roadmonkeytj tho, try to push the bricks a bit better together, it makes it look like you rushed things. I do like the surroundings around the factory with the terrain, tracks and greenery. Bart PS. where is the TNT brick?

Thank you captain.
