I can clearly understand your views. I think it has to do with habits. LabView code can be particularly hard to read, when it's not encapsuled good enough. What was most nerv wrecking for me was the lack of references in LabView :) And Node-Based Programming Languages can be a very good starter for kids, who never saw code in there life.

Winter Trial Truck Help
AkiyamaWataru replied to Alex Ilea's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
First of all: Study the rules! and then think like whats not prohibited is allowed. So: Are tracks allowed? what options are left thenaybe 3Rd party tires work better in snow. Some questions to think about: Are you really driving in snow? How much ground clearance do you want? How low can u put this megablocking heavy batteries? edit: extra questions -
Good thing: they are still availlable via parts and pieces from lego. I just ordered 8 of them :)

I must have missed that thank you :) I'll just have to make my order @p&b and finish my own monomonster, before I can tackle your front axle
-
hey didumos, very nice looking. Could you provide a lxf-file of the front axle? I'm keen to disect how you stabilized your wishbones and axle core. and MindGarage i would go for a F-Pace instead ;)

It is. The most importent part in any vehicle is the supportstructure. In the plane its the fuselage. It's a given that wings create lift while movement. But there are other aerodynamic effects like liftbodies, etc. You should not forget at what to mount your wings, controllsurfaces etc. It's the same to say the most importent part in a car is the engine. ;)

I have to second nicjasno! Those 5 by 7 and 5 by 11 frames are a ginormes help and extremly nice. -
Helge you're pissing me off with your instruction book selling. The megablocking world is not only about money. Even if you would give credit to the builder when making money, you would not honor the creativity needed to build such a nice moc. Let your books rest for now If you want to make instructions pm the respective builder and ask for permission and the terms under which you're allowed to make and sell them.

grum I'm sad :/ I can't see any of your current pictures. -
One particular thing I don't like is the position of your tank. The tank is the highest thing inside the engine bay. That comes from the feed for the carburator used in the 601. If i recon correctly it's a gravity feed to the swimmer-chamber.
-
Another point for hints goes for correctnes. Most 601 Trabants came with leaf-springs. On front and rear. As BusterHaus said: The trabant has independent suspension on all 4 sides. I just dont know what kind they used :)
-
a Telelever is a concept for front suspension of a Motorbike. It was developed by BMW. A carden driveshaft is a commonly used to transfer power (torque and rotations) from one place to the over. It uses a joints similar to lego technic u-joints. For further reading I recommend the wikipedia article.
