I have a few question for the Track-Definition: Will the standard 50cm be a minimum value? so the track might be wider at certain areas? How do you determine the radius of a corner? Inner Radius or Outer Radius or Middle of the Track Radius?

I just bought some 2017 and 2016 sets and I am wondering with parts are new? I know of a few like a pinhole with axle and pinhole with 2 axles. But I would like to know if there is a list for these parts.

I'm going to have just time with the family, as I can only see them one the weekends. Man this sucks..... -
Wait for Lego to react. If you take it apart and try to repair it yourself, Lego has ALL rights to refuse to help you, as you were fiddling with the inner parts of the 'brick'

Technic Color Palette

It's harder as it sounds. I know what I'm talking about, as I had my 30th birthday on the 18th off may. -
@Marxpek I am trying to build of proof of concept. It's just a general idea. Maybe I can us it here maybe not I will see.
-
But one could build a concept. This concept could later be adopted to the rules. And in Motorsports the development starts aswell before the rules got carved into stone.

First of all: They won't have technical errors on purpose. Aswell as they won't try to block you from reaching humans. Maybe try to call them with a telefone? I never had issues with lego service. Even with a fried servo motor. Try to change the view to this: They have an issue. This issue might have a plethora of reasons. A short list of possible reasons: DDoS-Attack Failure in Content-Delivery-System Intrusion-Attack on to the lego site To much load from happy and unhappy FOLs (might be children aswell) Try to call them or wait for a few minutes.

You Sirs and Ladies, triggered my brain. I'm working aswell on a car for this 'contest'. But i have issues with the framing :/ But this is always a problem for me.
-
After the poll is done we have a general direction, but a true trustworthy regulation is still missing. We should talk again about the format.
-
I still want to build the car my self :) But I think we need to define a waterproof set of rules. It must be easy to understand and clear to follow. Other then that: Whats not forbidden is allowed
-
@Aventador2004 you would have to count me in, in this aswell! :) As is like this idea very very much.
-
The testing is easy for that: define a track and measure the time it takes to go around it. So we would get a hot-lap shoot-out.
-
We should first get down to and define a CLEAR(!) reglement @Zero (Zblj) should maybe 3 or 2 people try to create the reglement in pm message thing. For me it seems everyone has nice Ideas but they can be too much.
-
This is one of the reasons I said we should only limit the proportions. Maybe we should allow a set of Wheels.
-
I have another idea: Due to the massive differences in the power source department, We should for now limit the Battery box or handle it by classes. So we get 4 Classes: B: Buwizz powered L: Li-Ion powered AA: Big battery box AAA: Small batterybox Edit: An idea about the third function (optional) Use a form of hybrid drive, maybe powered by a pullback motor. The point there: you are not allowed to precharge it before launch. One has to charge it while driving/ clock is ticking. This drive could directly power the car.
-
We should keep the Chassis building at the participents. We would limit ourself to much in the solutions. We should just try our best and build our car within a bounding box. Maybe regulate the allowed tires and the allowed trackwidth and distance between front and rear axle
-
We should now answer a question: What is the goal? Going fast in a straight line or doing something equal formula-e and incorporate corners? It seams to me like fast in straight line is the target for a lot of people. I find this quite boring. I would try to incorporate real drivability as shown in Formula E.

Why not use an all-weather running track: It has a length of 400m and you could use an entire lap. Ok one would just calculate the average speed there, but you could put a camera on the start/finish-line and measure the time, it takes for the car to cross the line twice (while running a full lap of course). Most people should have such a track nearby so no problem or am I wrong? Another pro: We would be forced to get the suspension and steering correct as in the wide turns we will have to put load on it. Another option: The one organizing the track would post a track in style of Trackmania (only 2D). He would define where to put corners based on a grid and give the schematics out. We would just have to define a few things: maximum Size of the track in m (width and depth) and grid size/resolution (how many squares per meter) Only problem could be getting the same surface. The later approach would give another challenge: Not only building the car but actually driving our stuff through a more or less difficult course. Edits: Type and missed the completion of a lap

Technic find

It is a steal :) The top most racer did cost about 40€ in Germany alone
