  1. Oooooh damnit sometimes I'm happy my head is grown to my body.... Transfered all my Lego to the place where i life during the weeks and forgot to take the wheels with me :/
  2. This 'other dtm cars' hurts.... A GT3 car is a completly different beast then a dtm car. Take a look at race distances from 1 hour to 24 hours..... Sorry to go off topic. To the car: she's beautiful. If I'd have the parts. I would atleast build the chassis if not the entire car :)
  3. How do you brace the diff it self? I usualy 'clamp' it between two gears. One is driven and the over one just free roles, to keep the gear from getting pushed away from the driving gear.
  4. I think they would have added a long diffuser, if the extra weight would show benefit. But we're getting off track here. For the car I wouldn't go only for more realistic mirrors. It's playing with the colors. Use the black spot of the mirrors to lighten up the orange and loosen it's grunt. You could make it more beautiful this way.
  5. Having taking a look for pictures, I found Aston Martin Vantage GT3 picturs from AM with BLACK(!) mirrors. But they can also be colored and i believe it would be a nice contrast for the orange if you use the black ones

  8. The pneumatoc connection is not always on the rear end. The Mercedes Amg gt has it on drivers right behind the door
  9. The dekotora comes from Japan. ;) The truck looks nice, but dekotoras are not my cup of tea.
  10. It gives only the spring rate. I'm looking for information about innernand outer diameter, length und so on.
  11. I only have the soft big shock absorbers. Does anyone know the dimensions/specification for the springs? I want to buy harder springs to keep the front of a car up.
  12. So you go more for looks then function. In my mind a good scale model does bot stop at the outer shell or the interrieur. I also take a look at the technical side. I started a project and first googled for a service Manuel to understand the drivetrain or how the front suspension is constructed.
  13. Ok Jim. Then here is my first question: While building a suspenssion system or the floor pan of a car, how do you guys keep your builds inside the measurements? I know sariels scaler to get measurents but how do you keep your structures inside those measurements. Do you bild something like a jigg/frame as a tool or how do you approch it?
  14. Well I know the scaler, as I'm using it aswell. What I wanted to ask: How do you keep your builds inside the measurements? Would you consider building a jigg/frame as a helpfull tool or would you just build free and always 'measure' your dimension?
  15. There is an issue: I don't know any GT3 Race-car with AWD. So i doubt it. And DugaldIC very nice chassis. I always wonder how you guys keep your measurements corresponding to the car? Espacilly when constructing the suspension systems

  17. In an earlier build I hab issues with the forces seperating the drivetrain. Their is a solution: bracing but I had no idea how to build it.
  18. I have drive a diff directly. I wanted a simple drivetrain. Therefor I build it simple.
  19. The drive-motor is a xl-motor the aux-motors are l-motors, as they are easier to secure then m-motors. The only issue with it: it's damn slow...
  20. I'm sorry if I was rude. For me it just sounded like replacing an unprecise form of measuring the speed with a more unprecise one. Your proposed way would be good if combined with a different measurement stile. And maybe one should allow the inclusion of a form of runway to accellerate to top speed.
  21. If you wanted you could set up a photocell-system to measure the time. You then get a timing accuracy of less then a mili-second. But for the convenient use it's easier to use a GPS-Based data tracker. If we want comparable measurements we should put ab a reglement to specify what is a valid speed measurement. edit: word change and typo
  22. That's utter nonsense! When meassuring smal things every error you make is proportionally bigger! Just take into account the feedbackloop in your body: Even if you're prepared to measure date it takes about 0.3 of a second to hit that damn button on the stopwatch. For this application GPS is sufficient. Or you have to ramp up the distance to 1 km or 1 mile to get a sufficient measurement.
  23. I think slop should be similar to the technical term clearance or slack. As in sloppiness/loose. edit: Correction of a word. And Didumos you were faster!
