[MOC] Food Stand Diners (One for the Rollercoaster fans)
TeriXeri replied to Frostbricks's topic in LEGO Town
This was by far my favorite set of this round of IDEAS , sad to see them not make it but making it to 10.000 does mean there's some demand for such sets indeed. Sharing of free instructions is allowed it seems : https://ideas.lego.com/guidelines You MAY NOT SELL ANYTHING related to your Product Idea. You may share photos and building instructions free of charge on your own website and online profiles. However you may not sell building instructions, custom kits, or anything related to your product idea. TeriXeri replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's a thing that happens a lot on this forum, talking about sets from "leaked" images. Doesn't mean I always agree with it, but the forum would be even more inactive without such talks, no matter if it's Technic or some other sets. Like even 2020 threads of some themes are popping up now with speculation, but without actual info to fuel it, discussion dies out fast unless it's like a franchise with established story/location/characters. (like Marvel/DC/Disney/Star Wars/Harry Potter) A more unknown theme like the Trolls World Tour was officially announced/teased for 2020 but there's literally nothing to discuss atm so inactivity set in. -
No, August release.

You are comparing a €30 (335 pieces) (Hidden Side) with a €20 (184 pieces) set. Overall, Hidden Side also has a better price to volume ratio as it doesn't seem to have any ties to licenses at all, no TV show or movies. Only the Train set is more expensive, due to train parts usually are (rails, wheels, bogeys, magnets etc)

Still by far my favorite theme of 2019, and favorite new theme since Nexo Knights. Just a single picture doesn't do the set's justice, as it doesn't properly show off the figures and transformation features. Only sets I have a doubt about is the Train set, as I don't have a train right now at all, and the base price is higher then the rest of the sets, but if I find the Cargo Train as well on big discount it could combine well. Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
No, there's a pack with a pink parrot, icecream, and 4 beach figures , Set number 40344, just like there is a 4-pack for Space/Ninjago and Spider-man with this wave. https://brickset.com/sets/40344-1/Summer-Celebration-Minifigure-Pack I see it as available now on the US site but not on the NL site (yet?) Maybe US gets its first as the other packs over there are "coming soon" still. -

They did choose 2 sets, the piano is still up for consideration.

Well, from some of the concept art (Source: Character Encyclopedia), there's a picture of a more metal looking Fortrex (no orange), fighting some orcs in another metal Fortress on a cliff. Orcs with red grey/red armor and sawblade arms and such. (Name : "CybOrcs") which are said to predate the concept of Fire/Stone monsters. I don't think it was meant to be a Space theme, but a lot more Fantasy with technology on both sides, with more sinister monsters then we got now. Instead of the Cyberbyters/Vampires using the Black/Green Colorscheme, the artwork shows a would-be Skeleton faction with transparent ghosts , clockwork globlins and a skeleton foundry.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
They had a baseplate-sized parking lot on the 2017 City Playmat, but thats not a real baseplate. Other then that, real Road plates haven't had new ones in 14 years, this year just a swap of packaging to Straight+T and Curve+Crossroad -
Indeed nice build, the neon orange was a big thing what drew me out of a 15 year dark age into LEGO again with Nexo Knights.

LEGO Creator 2019 - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That painted gold looks so much cleaner then the "marbled" molded Pearl Gold I got on most of my 1x2 tiles from the 2018 Nexo Knights wave. (mainly Aaron's Xbow uses a lot of tiles) Almost all my 1x2 tiles have the same injection pattern, resulting in some weird triangle shape, it seems specific to the 1x2 tiles as other parts are far less affected or marbled.- 280 replies

I agree, I know they offer things like Pick a Brick for basic parts, but that simply doesn't work so well for everyone, and the website Pick a Brick is nowhere as cheap as something like a mass produced Classic box. I have no experience with Pick a Brick walls either as not all countries/areas have LEGO stores anywhere close. Right now, the biggest LEGO boxes in the Classic theme are 900 parts for €40 and 1500 parts for €65, great price/part ratios, but many different part types and colors. Example , one of the most common parts in the 1500 parts set are 1x2 bricks, 176 total, but there are 20 different colors (not counting transparent colors) And on pick a brick they are €0.11 each, which is one of the cheaper part type, when other basic brick parts go well over €0,15+. (standard 2x4 are €0.22), overall an expensive method for basic parts even if directly from LEGO itself. If they had something with less colors and more of the same part type in Classic that'd be amazing, but with the existence of Pick a Brick I don't see that happening.

They have done a few LEGO schools in other themes not too long ago, just not in City / Minifig sets. I'll leave out the Duplo School/Bus sets, Fabuland/Homemaker Schoolrooms, Elves/Harry Potter Schools of Dragons/Magic. The upcoming Hidden Side School + Bus sets are the closest to a School theme for minifigs so far. 41005-1: Heartlake High (Friends - 2013) 41134-1: Heartlake Performance School (Friends - 2016) 41232-1: Super Hero High School (DC Super Hero Girls - 2017)

One of the better part of the theme is that they at least include normal heads/hair for the characters, the waitress/chef still useful in a city as well. The use of Trans-Neon Green in the Monster heads/hairpieces is just great. And the orange haired guy with a red Pizza torso seems to be a reference to none other then LEGO Island Pepper Roni. He also has (dark) blue legs.

Get a closed display cabinet with glass doors, I got my entire Nexo Knights collection into one. And for dusting I bought an extension for vacuum cleaner, which looks like a short garden hose, with some attachments, including a some tubes with a 1 and 2cm brush, works wonders to clean studded areas without needing a cloth, and it won't just move/blow the dust off, but actually remove it from the room into the vacuum cleaner.

I remember getting the original Enchanted Island set as a big gift in the 90s, such an amazing set and the 2 river (1 raised) baseplates got used a lot, and the printed walls with leaves on them were very cool, even used them in some Castles.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
The new Spiderman Stark Jet and 2 Avenger Quinjets (Captain Marvel + End Game sets) have nice spaceship parts as well. But I personally don't collect licensed (fleshie) themes. And I don't buy sets to sell figures. City Space people pack is a must-have however, possibly some other sets. -
I actually did have the 1996 Black/Yellow train when it was just released, and only recently saw it's name "Cargo Railway". I don't think it was ever directly called that in Dutch, most 90s catalogs didn't even have set names to begin with. But I can understand it was a weird one, with the removable passenger modules, and 4 cargo compartments. I still liked the train for what it was, and the alternate suggestions on the box were pretty cool for the time (Steam locomotive and rail-layer suggestions)

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
I still think the "weapons" and violence was up to the imagination of the person with the set at hand, there was very little video promotion of LEGO back in the 80s and 90s, at least in my country where most toy commercials were localized we didn't see a whole lot of LEGO on TV. Most we saw of LEGO was in paper catalogs and toy shop chains advertisements, usually with a peak around December. (Dutch holiday on 5 December called Sinterklaas functioned as the moment many childrend got gifts instead of Christmas) Even LEGO had little catalogs included in sets still. Overall, I don't deny that Classic/90s space certainly had weapons or lasers, but the fact stands that having less media or descriptions helped the imagination somewhat. I know many LEGO catalogs in my country didn't even have set names or much information text, usually only when a theme was new there was some brief background explanations. Still this is a City thread so probably not the best place to discuss old themes, speaking of City "weapons" , I suppose Fire has stud/tile shooters and dropped "water" bricks from planes, and Police have nets -
Speed Champions 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Town
That'd be an interesting car to see made into LEGO, very smooth and rounded looking car. Certainly would have to look studless unlike the older boxy looking F40 from the 80s (which even has some studs in the Speed Champions set but I think it's okay for that car)- 428 replies
