  1. We have seen some different sports in the recent years, just not the full blown team sport + fields sets of the past. But for Rugby and a potential new mould/printed piece, CMF seems more plausible then City imo. Exceptions are found in City as well however: the 2018 Minfig pack introduced a Mountain bike. As for sports seen in recent years City/Creator : Skateboarding Skiing Snowboarding Surfing Swimming Basketball Cycling + Mountainbiking Climbing Rafting + Kayaking Soccer Diving
  2. The thing with Pirates or Classic Space, is that the stories were made up by the kids most of the time, and sets were not forced into some movie script or tv-show. (unlike Licensed themes) I know there were some pirate comics but those were nowhere near mainstream. Pirates and Spacemen might have had some mentions of names somewhere, certainly not from the catalogs or sets in all countries. Some catalogs here didn't even have set names, only a number and a star if it was new. I'd say the shift LEGO made after 1999, especially the 2000s was a lot bigger then the transition from Space and Town into Pirates. In recent times however, LEGO still shows it can do original minifig themes and keep some story with things like Chima, Nexo Knights or Ninjago, and even Hidden Side likely has potential to be a success. Creator and City are still ongoing pillars as well. However 2019 is quite an empty year for Historic themes, Hidden Side will be my main interest new theme of 2019, and then looking forward to 2020 for potential Pirates/Castle. (Space has been covered somewhat by LEGO Movie 2 and City this year)
  3. Certainly not everything is awesome. There's goods and bads and I only buy the sets/themes I really like, otherwise , one of those not-so awesome things like the price sometimes, does add up.
  4. And the other version of the box seems very international. On my recent City Fire Station 2019 box, it says "battery included" for the (Light&Sound element on the car) , and Choking Hazard in 33 different languages.
  5. 80-90% off everything is a huge no no no indicator.
  6. Played this game a whole lot on the Nintendo 64 version, nice recreations and updates.
  7. Price per part might have been similar, and old sets had less parts overall, but price to volume has certainly gone down a lot in some cases, more small bits and pieces. Also some sets in licensed themes are much higher priced in some EU countries, likewise for City sets in the US. And in case of so many Exclusive, LEGOLAND or Shop@Home sets, discounts are sometimes non-existent. I guess it highly varies per country as well, and not all areas have big physical storefronts. I hardly go to physical toyshops when they sometimes sell above LEGO's own prices... Overall a tricky subject, because there's so many more factors, like currencies, salary. work hours, tax changes etc.
  8. If the car is such a big deal, it's still LEGO , and just because something is missing, doesn't mean building your own is not an option. (yes that requires parts/money but the price of the set would be higher also with a car included, especially if it was meant to fit 4 figs enclosed like the Ford Explorer. In this day and age, you don't even have to have the bricks and can design things digitally first. I can find multiple LEGO JP Ford Explorers of various scales (6/8/10 wide) with a search. Now this does not mean I am attacking people who talk about the car here, it's a valid point to desire an official model, and both jeep and ford are definately part of JP1, but so are plenty of other scenes/buildings that haven't made it into sets.
  9. So just saw this on the front page , and immediately thought of this : (Card from Hearthstone PC/Mobile game) I know it's not the same, but the cannons and architecture still reminded me of it. Very nice build indeed, and the rocky terrain looks menacing in a good way.
  10. Maybe they put Rugby on the ball to depict it's not American Football, and thus no need for headgear or shoulder armor.
  11. Best part are the weapons in those even smaller then usual "hands" of the T-Rex.
  12. While I am definately prefering an actual Pirate line, we know Hidden Side at least is located at the coastline (fishing boat/shrimp shack), could imagine it's somewhere southern USA, which technically is not too far from the main pirate locale, the carribean. In the chance that we don't get Pirates, it'd still be very cool to see like some ghost-pirates via the Hidden Side route. If a Graveyard set can work, so can some Pirate Cave / Sunken Shipwreck / Ghost-Ship or Ruins. And I mean, actual ghost pirate figures and not possessed townspeople. Maybe something more closer resembling like the Ninjago 2015 ghost wave, but with hook hands, peg legs, and pirate accesoires instead of Ninjas obviously.
  13. Looks good for vignettes of the different locations, however , the main thing that would make it more Adventurers and less Indiana Jones would be yellow figures.
  14. Weird to have such regional different catalogs, but even so October still makes sense, as that is close enough to November Blizzcon and offers a chance for them to sell the sets on-location as well. The LEGO Bastion set (the orange BLizzcon version) , was sold around October as well.
  15. I don't think it's a bad set, I should've called it "unique" and not "weird". I love the look of the T-rex especially, and the gate looks like a clever design and good parts usage for the shaping with nice plants to make it less monotone. It's still LEGO, could always build something else from the gate or dinosaur after a while if getting bored of a model. Just sometimes I have to personally make decisions, especially on those big sets, even with very reasonable price/part ratios I have to set priorities on what to get. Jurassic Park 1 and 2 have a big nostalgia factor for me, having read the book and owning the VHS tapes long ago.
  16. I wonder if that Porsche set is gonna have anything beside the car, most other cars got wheel covers or some modification bits (catalog doesn't show it for the other sets like the F40 either) Still I can understand some reasoning behind selling it seperately, the other set was €40, not just because of the extra car, but also the side build and 3 total minifigs. I am one of those people that certainly has a higher potential to buy the white Porsche as standalone instead of the €40 set.
  17. No new Overwatch sets in Catalog https://catalogs.lego.com/brandCatalog/1HY2019/we/nl/?page=98#/ Pages 98-99 are in-between Ninjago and Harry Potter.
  18. Weird type of set, but for that price I feel it's gonna have a very niche audience.
  19. Still doesn't mean much when the Tree House likely uses more generic already existing figures as it's not licensed, just because they don't "leak" doesn't mean the set is not being worked on. I imagine both still come this year, but it's just guessing what comes first. (Both of those IDEAS rounds already have a set on shelves with Flintstones/Steamboat)
  20. I doubt that it will come that soon, as the Treehouse set is still being made and newer projects have gone already in front of it. Tree House was approved October 2018 (same round as Flintstones) Central Perk was Approved February 2019 (Same round as Steamboat Willie)
  21. Would love to see a BMW M5 set made at some point. Still an iconic car, with a recent 2018 remodel, available in all sorts of colors. Doesn't really need any "racing decoration" either.
  22. Last winter (January 2019), MSC Zoe lost 345 containers north of Terschelling. In the UK, Cornwall still has LEGO wash onto shore now from a Container ship that sank in 1997.
  23. Flying raptors with wings instead of arms were shown in the Magazine, even silver grey ones with green stripes. It also shows some different Plantimal designs that aren't in current sets. But I have learned that things shown there are no guarantee to see it in real LEGO, as I have seen with Nexo Knight (Blue Lightning Scurriers) magazine's renders as well.
  24. Or they might have an entirely different release schedule and could be announced at Blizzcon 2019 (November 1-3) like last year and possibly release December or January. (or announced a bit before Blizzcon and actually sold there first) The theme itself was announced/teased earlier in May 2018, but the sets were officially revealed at Blizzcon 2018. (leaked 1 week before that by an error from Target) Also LEGO was at this year's E3 for Star Wars and Speed Champions, so having LEGO related things at game shows like Blizzcon again isn't that odd, especially if it's like the #1 Overwatch event of the year.
  25. It's a shame the cockpit printing white isn't as accurate as advertised on the box...
