I think you'd be better off mounting the L motors parallel to the tracks. You'd have one gear mesh less, hence less friction; and you could use the L motors to add structural stiffness to the carrier's critical points. -

Thank you! Yes, the mechanism is the same as 42009's. Ha, that car is kind of hideous I have no sense of aesthetics so ugliness comes quite naturally Thank you, my friend. I live in Lombardy, Italy's hardest-hit region - as of today, we've had more deaths than all of China. On the bright side, lockdown means more time with kitties and Lego Thank you! I'm having second thoughts about those exhausts, too - I put them there to cover a gap in the panelling but they actually look worse than the flaw they're meant to conceal
