  1. I think a point that's being missed here is that any assumed advantages of PU over PF are completely offset by the extortionate cost of PU motors. Also, I rebuilt my crawler crane with PU instead of PF - no noticeable advantages other than the fact that PU XLs have more mounting points. On the downside, the PU hub is bigger and heavier than its BuWizz counterpart; it doesn't allow cable stacking; it has no ludicrous mode; it's grossly underpowered. Just my two pence as a talentless beer swiller.
  2. Like the 8043 Excavator? Pass. Like some of the modded 42070s? Pass. Not at all like 42070 and only somehow similar to 8043. The problem with 8043 is that to make it really playable you'd need prompt access to all of the commands simultaneously and not in groups of three. Other types of machinery, though, are quite playable with just two active functions at a time (tow trucks & cherry pickers come to mind), hence, if you combine two drive motors with a basic gearbox using the orange wave selector and throw in a third motor to drive the selector, you can easily get eight fully remote-controlled functions in a relatively small space and without spending bucketloads of money.
  3. Same here. Incidentally, three motors are enough for (at least?) eight RC functions.
  4. How many Mocs are super fast cars? Looking at my line-up of mocs, I see I've used three servos, twenty L motors, six XL motors and eight M motors. It seems that, in my case at least, the servo function is far from a priority.
  5. No, but two of my three tow trucks use L motors for steering and work fine
  6. We should care because the PF system is being phased out and for most intents and purposes the Control+ system doesn't offer a fraction of what it should for the cost.
  7. Why go high-tech and expensive when low-tech and cheap works just as well in most cases?
  8. There are mechanical workarounds using an M motor and rubber bands In any case, those prices are extortionate.
  9. True - but most MOCers are familiar with the BuWizz app, which more than makes up for TLG's shortcomings.
  10. Really hope so - we need that back in yellow (and DBG).
  11. Is that 42056 orange or 42099 orange?
  12. So just the electronics of 42100 costs €405. I got 42100 for €270. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
  13. I don't get all the moaning and groaning about the lime green parts in the chassis - it means you'll have more lime green parts for the bodywork of your own models.
  14. All that lime should make for great mocs in Claas livery.
  15. The Porsche's RRP was €299.99; the Chiron's was €369.99. I reckon it should be fairly easy to come by with a 30% discount, so in the €260-270 range.
  16. Based on what I've seen in a lot of Lego-related groups, there are thousands of grown-ups with the right to vote and start a family who can't even build the Defender without screwing up every other step. Pretty disturbing, innit?
  17. This is awesomely insane The rugged looks and the mind-blowing amount of functions make it an instant winner for me, even if it's mechanically rough around the edges. It has an old-school vibe that's missing from all the more recent supercars. One thing you might do if and when you feel like it is redesign the chassis so as to make it stiffer. That would also solve the issue with the doors. Anyway, phenomenal work!
  18. Brilliant work yet again. I love how you always manage to pack lots of functions and good looks into relatively small models and without resorting to hundreds of System parts.
  19. She's a beauty Love the ingenious pneumatic mechanisms. I'd be so happy if I could build this in dark green! I've shared the video on my FB group.
  20. Pity 'cause it's a decent part pack.
