  1. Nothing wrong with speculation if it inspires worthy mocs
  2. You genius So in essence, you could have the driver's seat linked to a distribution box which, depending on the seat's orientation, powers a different set of functions. With this little trick you could squeeze 16 RC functions out of 3 motors. I suppose that, at a pinch, you could throw in a fourth motor to turn the driver's seat and then the whole model would be entirely RC. The only issue I see here is the sheer size of the gearbox. If the set had Claas tyres, what would the size of the main body be, more or less?
  3. Interestingly, three motors are quite enough for 8 fully RC functions controlled two by two. Based on that, some clever designer paid to build bricks can probably squeeze in some more.
  4. I haven't got the slightest clue about how to help because the mechanics are all way beyond me, but I hope you manage to make this work the way you want because it looks bloody awesome
  5. Maybe not a new idea but by far the clearest, most comprehensive tutorial I've ever seen - thank you! Have you got a link for the power supply you used? I wouldn't know which one to choose from among the thousands out there.
  6. Right, forgot about the Corvette! And I also forgot that the #5 and #6 panels are still missing in orange (OT: Speaking of panels, hopefully we'll get yellow #21 and #22 in the 2H backhoe.)
  7. Anything somehow Classic Space has to be awesome
  8. Or build it in a different colour! Red and black are no-brainers; white and orange should also be feasible since the boom can be redesigned to work with standard 3x11 curved panels. Probably at least one of the ten billion azures out there, too. Not sure about dark blue yet - that'd be my choice, with white accents, crab steering and a three-stage boom.
  9. The electronics are worth €50 at the most. There's no way two new molds justify another €80 for 400 parts and change - unless, of course, the diff is some heavy-duty, game-changing piece of engineering that on its own deserves a price tag of at least €40. Just my rusty tuppence, of course - always gotta point that out lest someone's feelings get hurt.
  10. No way - not even by 42099's extortionate standards is 42109's price justified.
  11. More diff speculation - it may have been designed with a 3x3 space so that you can choose different gear combos to suit your needs, e.g. three knob gears; three half-bevel z20s (with or without added half-bevel z12s); three bevel z12s; two frikandellen and a packet of hagelslag.
  12. Get a clue. I'm not trying to shame anyone. A place like Eurobricks should be more about sharing ideas and not petty grievances.
  13. And let's not forget that complaining on teh intarnet is going to make B models come back and turn the world into a better place.
  14. Please, cut the whining. If you need a B model so badly, come up with one yourself. Isn't that the whole point of Lego? Stimulate creativity?
  15. That could really be a huge issue, especially since there's no quick solution like e.g. inverting the 12/20 gear pair.
  16. Unfortunately not The motors and drivetrains are pretty crammed in as it is.
  17. Finished the crane and it looks hideous, so any tips on how to make it less of an eyesore are welcome.
  18. Daymn, if only there were a way to stop the actuators from fully extending, e.g. by tossing the crane off a cliff before the boom goes full 90°. Or by flicking the switch back to neutral - but that takes humungous flicking skills that only the best nose-pickers possess. A far less drastic solution would be to move the actuators forward or the boom backward, thus also reducing the stress on the motor. Just sayin'.
  19. Apologies for the atrocious pic and for 42042 being used as a prop. Is the cab's position okay or should I move it back?
  20. I decided to use my mod of the 42100 carrier to build a very basic lattice crawler crane, most likely in DBG/LBG and white. This is the carrier, which is 4 studs longer than 42100 and is powered by 4 L motors and 1 BuWizz unit. And this is the very rudimental beginning of the superstructure. Notice the ridiculous amount of ideas pinched from 42042 and 42082, too.
