  1. Definitely worth it. Easy to motorise, great C models, decent parts pack - win all across the board.
  2. You know the lockdown's getting stuffy when the wine outweighs the Lego.
  3. Great model and ingenious use of the mudguards! (Is that orange? I seem to be getting more and more colourblind by the day.)
  4. Thank you so much! (If your breathing is okay it's likely just the 'flu. However, do be careful - I have relatives back in the UK who work in healthcare and they're quite worried about the government's failure to act - kind of what happened here in Italy until the guano hit the fan.)
  5. Ha ha, thanks! Kitties rule! Thank you, my friend We're all under lockdown here but at least I can work from home and don't have to put up with the hassle of commuting. Best wishes to you and to all the furry friends Thanks! Everything I build looks pretty clumsy but it's fun and my nephews enjoy it, so it's all good. Indeed. Before lockdown, I used to drive past Manitowoc's Italian headquarters just outside Milan every week and saw a couple of RTCs first-hand. In my model, though, it was a lucky accident - the boom was meant to lean parallel to the ground because I was worried the actuators wouldn't be able to lift it otherwise, but I didn't account for the weight of the boom actually causing it to sag just beyond parallel. Luckily, it works fine all the same and my design screw-up actually ended up adding a dash of realism to the model, though through no merit of mine Thank you!
  6. I made a mish-mash of my clumsy models, threw in a li'l Liebherr livery for bad measure and came up with a rubbish terrain crane. It has functions and does stuff. Kitty's not impressed.
  7. Well, we don't really know anything about the suspension yet. As for the small yellow panels, they're there in plain sight so that's one thing ticked off my wishlist.
  8. On quite a different note, the Control+ hub seems to manage multiple motors under load far better than the Power Functions battery box/IR receiver combo. My nephew had this setup (ca. 3 kg) rolling around on the gravel all afternoon and the motors never seemed to struggle. Edit: I was running the BuWizz app, which may have played into the swimmingly smooth performance.
  9. The XL actuators are awesome. Luckily, I was able to stock up on them, as well as on Control+ components, when a supermarket chain just across the border screwed up their pricing big time and had 42100 going just over half RRP.
  10. Technically, I'd like to see new suspension ideas. In terms of parts, I'm happy with the small panels in yellow at long last.
  11. I agree. This is what counts the most for me, as well as new building techniques.
  12. A smaller motor is always going to be more versatile, at least size-wise, than a larger motor because by definition it's going to be easier to fit into a broader variety of models. Quite a trivial consideration but enough to blow holes in your argument. And you're still missing my point: if you're on a budget and you can only afford one motor to use in a variety of Mocs, which one should you get? Look at TLG's official one-motor models - most of them have either an M or an L. If I could only afford one motor to use in a variety of situations, I'd definitely go for an L.
  13. That's why engineers don't work with pennies and Lego. Not really. What if he's on a tight budget, can only afford one motor and wants the most versatile one?
  14. If I had to choose only one of the three I'd definitely go for the L motor, also because it is structurally far more versatile and effective than the other two.
  15. My only concern is that I've got plenty of Nero d'Avola, 'nduja and freshly baked walnut bread within arm's reach.
  16. They should bring back the Idea Books with all those combo sets.
