What do you actually do with LEGO?
Murdoch17 replied to John Carter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
the last option: "I mainly build sets/MOCs to play with (maybe in a D&D environment or similar)." I'm mostly a MOC builder / MOD sets (I haven't left a set as a stock model for over a decade or longer!) and also make up stories / histories for my models. -
Thanks @Darkkostas25! Here's an update to an issue that was driving me nuts: I've had the engine built in real life less than a week, and I'm already changing it majorly. The tender was 6 studs wide when I built it, but to be the same width as the cab I decided to widen it to 7 studs wide. I'm doing this for two reasons: 1. Because a 6 wide tender next to a 7 wide cab looks odd. 2. Leaving it alone is driving me crazy! The cab / tender MUST be equal! Most of the parts from the original tender will be reused, but the few that aren't there have been bought for less than $8.

My hopes were raised like a balloon soaring through the stratosphere... ....and then those hopes crashed worse than the Hindenburg. (I have to stop opening this thread!)

@DAN42BR @Toxic43 (I've tagged you two since you guys commented before) It's done in the real world! See the first post for more pictures!

I'll take seven. And if it doesn't come with a 4th Doctor Who fig, or the words "This is a fake" under the the painting, I'm gonna be sad. Not too surprised, but sad. (classic Dr. Who reference for the win!) (For those who are interested, the 1979 serial featuring seven original copies of the Mona Lisa was called "The City of Death".)

Check out the picture from the post directly above yours to see most recent progress pic from last Tuesday. The last order of the two I placed should be here Monday.

I'm dying to see the streetcar. However, knowing CITY doesn't do old-looking models, I'll bet it's not a Birney Safety Car, a Peter Witt, Brill Bullet, or the famous art-deco PCC. Probably just going to be some modern looking junk, sadly.

This fairly recent topic has one made from UFO parts made by user zack-ta... it's very nice!

@BrickBandit You have to use another site, like Flickr, Bricksafe, etc. to host photos, as Eurobricks doesn't host photos. This is also in the wrong sub-forum for this thread. I'm tagging @Jim in order to get it moved.

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I also had the toy @Ferder was talkin about. The picture unlocked a core memory of me playing with it 23 years ago! (Man, I feel old just typing that out) -
It's not often you see a MOC of a Adriatic-type (2-6-4) wheel arrangement, but you did a fantastic job with it! And even if the engine potentially never wore blue, it still looks AMAZING in that color! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your kind comment @DAN42BR! I must inform you, however, that English is the only language allowed on Eurobricks... so you might want to edit your comment into English.

UPDATE Bad news: Both my lone Bricklink order and Big Ben Bricks order were really messed up. From BBB I ordered four M drivers with flange, and received 3. I ordered 2 blind M wheels, and got 5 from him. I'm also an even 24 parts short on my BL order, (but got a whole bag of parts I didn't order) and the store is currently closed 'for renovations'. Good news: I ripped apart an older MOC to steal the wheels from to get this project rolling (pun intended) and found different replacement parts for some of the missing BL parts. The remaining missing 16 slope parts required a friend from my local LUG's help. I shall have the loco done Saturday (I hope!), and this thread will have updated pictures soon after.... if all goes well!

This final WIP picture is just to show how everything looks on my New York Central streamlined 4-6-4 before I receive my two orders from the 13th. (This should happen next week I hope) Thoughts?

I thought everyone's parents told them stealing was wrong. Period. Full stop. Not 'Don't steal from people, but companies are fine.' Remember: companies are made up of people, who would like to be paid for there work. That pay partially comes from licensing fees. As for the George Lucas comment, I give you Grand Admiral Thrawn, who would have NEVER been in live action if it hadn't been for Disney. Also, what do you call Rogue One but a love letter to the OT? Or how about Kenobi and it's filing it prequel plot holes? EDIT: I just saw the moderators' comment from last page. Sorry. Must've missed that!

Those are works of art! You did a fantastic job!

The Orient Express is trademarked, and we know this as LEGO had to pay for the license. The other guy did not pay for it / ask permission, as I doubt LEGO would not have an exclusive contract with the OE's parent company. As for the Flying Dutchman @Toastie pointed out, if that's the one I'm thinking of, (if my memory is right!) it came from the LEGO PoTC game that was ripped out to make a MOC, which was then was stolen by Mould King.

The front page of Eurobricks? Only moderators such as @JopieK can do that, and generally you don't get it by asking. (just so you know) It's usually a neat surprise to see models you design up there. In my 13 years of posting, however, only like three of my models made it. (And one wasn't even mine, I just posted it for my elderly dad because he doesn't do online really.) So don't expect it to make it. Just be surprised if it does! However, If you meant the first post of this very topic, you can edit your main post at the top of this thread at anytime by hitting the edit button.
