  1. @The Reader Sadly, that is only available in the UK as a test of the interactive bricks and is limited to 10,000 families. (according to Brickset) So, in essence we wait 21 years for a Adventurers follow-up, and all the really cool sets are locked away from the majority of the fans. It's depressing and infuriating!
  2. Licenses such as Star Wars and Harry Potter were only a quick monetary fix whereas Bionicle's launch in 2001 gave them enough cash to turn down the offer they were really considering from Mattel. Sure they're were bumps after that (Galidor) but several years of solid Bionicle sales save their butts until they could totally right the ship in 2004 / 2005. This was especially true in 2003 when no HP or SW films were released that year, as films drove sales in the early days. All this info comes from the books 'The Secret life of LEGO Bricks' and 'A Million Little Bricks'.
  3. How can you make an opinion about something you've never seen? Watch it, you might be surprised. Example: I wasn't too sure about BTAS until the LEGO Gotham Skyline came out, and I'm currently 100% loving it. Yeah, Superman of the 70's is hokey at times, but they are products of their time - same at Batman '66 was. Somethings work, others don't. Same as any movie series, not just super hero films! *looks at Godfather III*
  4. Well, I liked the film. And I don't generally like Superhero films... Batman '66 and it's TV show along with Batman '89 + '92 and BTAS being the few exceptions.
  5. It appears ominous isle is gonna be next to go judging from how much further along it is, but that won't be for a good long while.
  6. I'm sure the fans of Homemaker figs, HO scale cars, and even wooden toys also bemoaned the fall of those themes. Here's an unpopular opinion of my own: Everything has it's time, and things have to change. In fact, change the only constant thing in the Universe - Lego or otherwise! TLG has to modify itself with the times, or die off like the former big names in construction toys. (Erector, Meccano, etc...) It it stands still too long, it will cease to be relevant and die.
  7. @legoturtle ...Cheetah is a Wonder Woman villain, not a Lantern foe. Obviously you've never seen WW84.
  8. I have one thought on it: "Meh." Based on the trailer, the film also (IMO) seems like it will be a bigger mess than TLNM. I mean, what demographic are they aiming for with it? LEGO fans? Pharrell Williams fans? I don't think there is much overlap between the two, but I could be wrong! (Sorry this is sort-of off topic!)
  9. @Timemaster11 Not trying to be rude, but don't Brickset, Bricklink, Rebrickable, and a few others do that already? Just curious what makes your catalog different from the others?
  10. If you haven't got your train station orders in, it's last call. It's VERY close to selling out! EDIT: ...and two minutes later, it's gone.
  11. Don't forget it was the first loco to go 100 MPH in a way that could be scientifically substantiated! (Apologies to NYC 999 and City of Turo fans in advance!) Also, it almost didn't make it out of America because it's owner went bankrupt... it could have easily been scrapped here, but thankfully was not.
  12. Tell that to Batman (1989 - 1997 or 2005 - 2012)!
  13. I am not impressed with it... not in the slightest.
  14. 'A wizard is never late, nor is he early - he arrives precisely when he means to!' Love the tree - it works wonderfully with set 9469!
  15. Wow! If LEGO / Nintendo doesn't make a theme after this type of hype / frenzy, both companies are equally stupid / blind. Then again, it should have been a hint when the third Zelda IDEAS project reached 10,000 votes... not to mention the other five that never got made after that!
  16. You might want to remove that link from your quoted post, as it is spam and could be reported as such @Classic_Spaceman.
  17. It looks very nice! Keep up the good work!
  18. Thanks @Cinderbike! I just got done adding the rolling stock to the post as of right now! @JWBDolphins @Ropefish @eric_son_of_joseph @JopieK @Feuer Zug If I've tagged you, it's because I said i would when the rolling stock was added to the first post, and now it's there! Go check it out!
  19. This late-1930's American-styled coupe car model is heavily modified and recolored from these free police car instructions as seen at this Rebrickable MOC by user Leewan. I remade it into both yellow (not shown) and blue varieties from the original black-and-white, removed the doors, and revised some other stuff "under the hood". Also, the model bears a resemblance to the titular car from the 1952 Disney short film 'Susie the little blue coupe'. The front of the car. The rear of the car. The inside can seat two figures and the roof is removable. (Picture from Wikipedia - the short's music is still under copyright, but the pictures are not, strangely!) I couldn't do the radio antenna on my MOC, as it changes sides on the car from scene to scene. Also, I couldn't get the eyes on the windscreen. Fun facts: - The design of the Disney / Pixar 'Cars universe' characters was inspired by Susie. - Bill Peet wrote the story treatment for Susie the little blue coupe. (he was quite prolific as a writer and animator for Disney, see his wiki page) Later, he also write the book 'The Caboose Who got Loose', another one of my favorite books - and MOC's! ...and that's all I got. Thoughts, comments, suggestions and questions are appreciated!
  20. I've also been following your progress on Flickr, and I must say, this scene is fantastic! My favorite part is the curved trestles - those aren't easy to do!
  21. I'd like to see Tron (needs no introduction) and Sark (the MCP's second-in- command) from the original TRON film in a CMF. If it were a set, you could throw in the Master Control Program mainframe and Flynn jumping into it. (...and with the third TRON film in production, it might even be possible!) As for the other ten: - Milo (Atlantis the Lost Empire) - Princess Kida (same as above) - Jasper Badun (classic animated 101 Dalmatians) - Horace Badun (same as above) - Mary Poppins (from the original film) - Mr. Banks (same as above) - Madame Medusa (the Rescuers) w/ Bernard the mouse as an accessory - Penny (the Rescuers) w/ Miss Bianca as an accessory - Christopher Robin (Winnie The Pooh) - Jim Hawkins (Treasure Planet) with map accessory Companion sets: - The submarine Ulysses from Atlantis with the rest of the adventurers looking for Atlantis except Commander Rourke and Helga, who would come with the balloon from the finale. Rourke would also have a crystal variant as well - The wrecked Devil's Bayou steamboat from The Rescuers, which comes with Mr. Snoops figure, Brutus and Nero crocodiles. Boat can fall apart / blow up with play features - RLS Legacy space vessel with half the pirates figs, also including Cpt. Amelia, Dr. Delbert Doppler and Mr. Arrow (comes withy both styles of flags to denote who controls the ship!) - Treasure Planet core with more pirates including John Silver w/ morph accessory and B. E. N. (Many more explosion features are also found here)
  22. @bruh I'm not sure if there is a list or website devoted to every LUG, but depending on where you live, you could Google search '*insert city where you live* LEGO club'. If there is anything local, it should pop up. You could even search by state, if nothing too local pops up. Most LUG's have a Facebook page or website you can see where / when they meet, and go to a meeting to see how it goes.
  23. I'm finally a Grand Duke! Only 4,000 posts to go until Arch Duke! (hopefully it won't take another 14 years...)

  24. This somewhat spooky, gothic-looking modular building was inspired by the tavern in Harry Potter set 76388 - Hogsmeade Village Visit, with a color scheme lifted from 75583 - Minions and Gru's Family Mansion. The car was reverse engineered from what I could see of the 1950's 'lead sled' in upcoming summer 2024 City set 60408 - Car Transporter. I added a back half to the building, built another level, plus I put in a conservatory and a fireplace flue. I also changed the coloring to dark bluish gray with a black roof, from the original dark tan with dark gray roof. The building folds open on a hinge, and as such lifts away from the modular compatible base to allow for you to open the building. The rear isn't that exciting too look at, but it does it's job well enough. Inside the front of the building, the lower floor has a dining room, while the second floor has a well-stocked library. The third floor is the attic space. In the back of the house, on the lower level we see the living room and conservatory. (this latter area flips open for access) Moving onto the second floor is the bedroom. (the black thing with trans-blue glass is a fish tank) Finally, the attic is located on the third floor and is mostly vacant. The modular base can also be removed from the building. I didn't have pictures of the rear (and obviously instructions were also a no-go as the City set won't be out until August), so improvised as best I could using what I thought looked reasonable for a fifties car. I managed to get 99% of the car built from one picture. The rear of the car. Admittedly, I stole the taillights design from this old Hachiroku24 MOC. The inside seats one figure at the wheel. Thoughts, comments, complaints, and questions welcome!
  25. I like the Creator modern house set (31153) that was revealed earlier in May, but it isn't a complete building and won't be released until August here in the USA. So I made a front for it back on May 2nd, and waited for the set to be released. Eventually, my impatience got the best of me, and I reverse engineered the set proper as best I could yesterday afternoon. I even managed to make the building open and shut on a hinge. It may even be possible to make it into a modular style with a removable base. What you see here is the totally custom street-side of the building. The rear of the building, or what is supposed to be my version of set 31153. The inside of the front of the building features the dining room on the lower floor and half of the library on the second floor. (This portion of the library will feature a giant framed landscape painting.) The lower level of the rear half features the kitchen on the left and living room on right, while the upper floor features the rest of the library and the master bedroom. (The library's chandelier is missing in these pictures because the parts required aren't in LDD... but they WILL be in the house when it's built in real bricks!) As for building this in real bricks, so far I've found 215 parts out of the 1,184 of this model from my collection, and (without S&H) it only costs less than $120 USD... which is amazing because the original set costs $100 by itself, so my complete custom MOC is cheaper than buying the set and adding a back to it! ...and that's all I've got for now. Thoughts, comments, questions and suggestions welcome!
