  1. Skyline sets - probably not. Individual buildings - possibly.
  2. This double track train trestle is finally finished! The bridge uses four girder parts from City set 7900 from 2006 that I've had laying around for 18 years without much luck at making a bridge (despite several attempts) - until now! The bridge is ~30 inches long, and is designed to hang between two tables with the parts under track off the end of the bridge proper serving as feet, holding the bridge level and on the table top. Looking up track through the centerline of the bridge. There are 16 bricks of space from top of the rail to the roof girders, which means it can take double-stack Maersk container cars with a plate to spare. To pick the bridge up, you can grab anywhere but the roof lattice - those plates aren't reinforced enough to take the weight. The underside has been reinforced since the initial design stage... It's a lot stronger now, and *should* be able to hang between two tables without breaking while trains run over it. (I've not been able to test this with motorized trains as I don't own any.) Thoughts, comments, questions? Feedback is appreciated! EDIT 7/6/24: Please pardon my messy layout! I've really got nowhere to go with most of this stuff, but nevertheless I just managed to rearrange it around, moving tables and adding my bridge to the mix. The bridge works beautifully and hasn't collapsed yet which I consider a major win for my design skills! A digital look at what the layout looks like without the stuff in the way.
  3. I don't know where you get your info, but that is a wild guess on a subject you can't possibly know. Even LEGO probably doesn't know, as entire themes get canceled or changed at the last minute. Sets are generally made 6 months before release - if at that - and have been canceled right upon the cusp of release before. (The Temple of Doom and Technic Osprey say hello!)
  4. I'd say not a snowball's chance in hell: The 2012 reboot of the 2006 sets was because the theme was totally relaunched and expanded from Batman to DC Superheroes, not because of any anniversary. They don't do such celebrations with this theme, as the 10th year of DC Superhero's came and went without anything at all.
  5. The dark blue w/ gold print pentagonal tile on bottom right comes from the Thanos mech from Marvel (76141). The other similar tile in black and red comes from Miles Morales mech armor (set 76171). The "A" tile comes in eight sets, and you can see them all here on Bricklink. As for the other three, I have no idea @supermikaelagirl, but judging from the ones I could identify, I would suggest look through the Marvel Super Heroes sets and seeing which fit. On a hunch, I would assume the black 2x2 tiles are from some Antman set, and the dark tan one from a Thor set. (The goat boat, maybe?)
  6. Don't forget all the parts that were created for a licensed theme, that eventually ended up being reused after a time and wouldn't have existed without the theme! Example: Lightsabers (both 4-long bar and hilt) were from 1999 Star Wars and ended up being VERY useful for builders of all genres. Without that theme, we might never have gotten them. Other examples include: Minion heads becoming dome parts on the Orient Express, original Harry Potter hairpieces going all over the place, Sandy Cheeks' (from SpongeBob) helmet being used in Winter Village sets as light posts globes, Indiana Jones' whip and bag, and the list goes on and on!
  7. Sorry if this comes across as rude but, I don't understand the need for such a thing? It's like a millimeter or two difference in height - If somebody's train can't handle that, it needs a design rework. Baseplates can flex more than this, and track can not be pushed down all the way too. Again, apologies, and It's a nice concept, but I don't understand what you're trying to do here.
  8. I must be stupid or something - I never thought the bridge could be straightened out! ...I just figured it was stuck at a strange angle forever. (Shows what I know!) I now want it, but my finances are such I don't know if I'll have the money in my account when it ships... so I guess it will stay just a dream.
  9. I gotta give credit where it's due: this model has a lot of heart. Keep up the good work!
  10. Thanks! I'm currently tweaking it in places and adding junk to make it look lived in. I've got a mummy's sarcophagus, a bunch of crates, a few barrels, and a new piece of wall art for the place. Oh, I almost forgot: the lost Ark is hidden away in there somewhere. (Just don't open it - you have been warned! ) With the sign removed to order later, and the crane being already built, I had 1,565 parts to find originally, but an now down to 1,091 left to find or order. For those that want to see what the digital WIP looks like as of a few days ago, here you go. The model should be finished in October or November.
  11. @Fuppduck You would need the stud.io digital building program, available for free from Bricklink to open the file. Also, as an alternate option: I saw a user named Victaven recreated the instructions on Rebrickable in original gray and also red so you could buy one of them and get the instructions that way.
  12. Don't believe everything you read / see on the internet. Radcliffe and his co-stars from HP have said tons of times that they won't be working with Rowling anymore, for reasons we aren't going to discuss here.
  13. I've only bought three sets this year - one of which is a CMF figure. Last year it was five sets, where two were CMF's along with a GWP parts pack. Anyway, I uploaded pictures to Flickr today, but the site's down right now so sadly I can't post them here.
  14. @Jack Sassy said Murdoch, and here I am! I'm also not being a downer, I gave my thoughts and opinions on the set he was talking about. As for the rest, I'll show it off when it's ready.
  15. I have been summoned! I'm sorry to say I already have a design for a base, but haven't built it yet in real life. This new summer-camp Friends stuff does not interest me anyway. Sorry to disappoint!
  16. I would be willing to bet when the set is revealed, most likely in 2025 or later.
  17. My fav bad guys, top to bottom: 1. Lord Sam Sinister / Lord Ogel / Lord Vladek (the terrible trio!) 2. Davros (insane evil genius and inventor) 3. The Emperor ('So be it, Jedi.'*zappy zap zap*) 4. the Master (creepy, insane, cunning, and super smart) 5. Darth Vader (end of Rogue One beats the Obi-Wan ANH fight. yeah, I went there!) 6. Scar from Lion King (The animators studied 'Triumph of the Will' for the 'Be Prepared' sequence. Nothing more scary than a fascist dictator lion!) 7. The Joker (Do I really need to introduce him) 8. Charles Muntz from UP (insane murderer obsessed with fame and glory) 9. Dr. Miguelito Quixote Loveless (from the Wild Wild West TV show. The movie does not exist!) 10. Voldemort (Starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel here...)
  18. Instructions like that also turned off people in droves from buying LEGO. The instructions of today may be simple, but at least the average joe can read them easily! I myself have issues reading 70's / 80's / 90's instructions and I am 30. This era frustrates me immensely, as I don't like seek-and-find or guess-the-difference games. (Never have!) If I had been around for the "golden age" of LEGO, I would never have gone beyond one set and I would certainly not be typing this very post right now, as I would not be a AFOL.
  19. Not to be a downer, but Emmett's actual apartment doesn't fit in the building it's supposed to, so it would have to be HEAVILY condensed / modified in such a major way as to be unrecognizable. And anyway, the building exterior is just a majorly modified town hall set... which itself didn't sell well as a modular building upon release, so I doubt Lego would want to make another one. Also, 2024's building was released already (Museum) so that 10-year window has passed. As for other options for a future tribute, Octan HQ skyscraper (with detachable top section!) might work better at the 15 year mark.
  20. Thanks you @P6tu and @Darkkostas25! However, I must mention again this is not totally my MOC, but a modification of another person's MOC, as stated in the description.
  21. I was referencing the post above yours, made by the person I tagged. Although I do agree the dragon would be a nice treasure!
