Thanks! Here is the next in the series: Haunted House Fictional background: Built in 1925, this house was originally owned by the Beckett family, who took control of the Imperial Bank of Ironwood in 1916. The family was headed by Joseph, who was the Bank president. In 1929, the main branch of the Bank of Ironwood was gutted by fire right down to the stone walls. The Beckett's were just stating to rebuild when the Great Depression hit later that month, and destroyed the Beckett family fortune. Joseph took his own life in the family room on Christmas morning, 1929. His wife then died of a stroke upon discovering her husband's body. The house has been haunted ever since, as screams of terror and gunshots can be heard coming from the house each Christmas ever since. However, the gun used in the apparent suicide was never found. Was it murder? Nobody alive today knows for sure. The house still stands there, unoccupied and boarded up. My Notes: This build was based on LEGO set 4756 (called Shrieking Shack ) from the 2004 Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban movie line. My revamped version of the set features a hinge system to allow access to the interior while preserving the sense that it is a complete building. The house also has a interior and a secret exit through the fireplace. The lower floor features a phonograph and two chairs, plus the secret fireplace escape route. The second floor features a rotten bed frame. The rear view features the secret exit and more boarded up windows. There are 10 of those 1x6 tan tiles in this build, and all of them are missing a specific rare wooden board print. UPDATE I have redone the town hall! Background: The current Ironwood Town Hall was built in 1939 and features two floors with the top floor featuring the mayor's office and records room containing, among other things, Birth certificates, Death notices, Land deeds, census records and other such items from 2010 to the present. (Everything from 2009 back to 1899 goes in the basement.) The first floor features the secretary’s desk and the stairs to the second floor. My Notes: This building was inspired by 2008 set 10184, Town Plan. I added a rear to the building in a style like set 31026, Bike Shop & Cafe. The building also takes cues from Scotnick and his modular take on the Town plan set. (see it here: https://www.flickr.c...s-55973205@N08/ ) Please note, my version of the building is not modular, and swings open to reveal the inside, such as in set 31026. I personally think it looks very Back To The Future-like. The upper floor features the mayors office with filing cabinets while the lower floor features the secretary’s desk. The middle rear window was very frustrating: it doesn't look like I imagined it but does manage to give off a clean appearance. The LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1423179603m.lxf I have also updated the Backwash Saloon + it's LDD file to include a new "neon" sign. Here is a pic of how it looks: The LDD file for the update is in the first post.

I was pretty sure I posted here already, but I looked and couldn't find it. Oh well! Here's my story: Murdoch is the name of a Thomas The Tank Engine character I liked. I didn't care for the actual story he was featured in on the TV show, (he's not in the Railway Series, which is what the TV show is originally based on) I just liked the way he looked as a locomotive. (He's a 2-10-0 steam engine, a real life type that was the largest non-articulated in the UK, plus one of them was the last engine built for British Railways.) Anyway, I realized his TOMY / Trackmaster model (yes, I had a whole blue track railroad before I had that many Lego models!) didn't have a number on his tender like Thomas. I counted all the engines with numbers and came to around the number 13. So, I added a couple numbers to it and came up to 17, which happens to also be my favorite number. Fast forward a couple months to mid 2007, when I lost track of my old (pre-2005) Lego.com account password. I then thought of Murdoch and his custom sticker number 17. I put them together and that's where my username came from. I use it on these sites besides Eurobricks: Brickset, Brickset Forums, MOCpages, Flickr, Lego.com, and a few others.

UPDATE: (first since September!) I have created a 8F steam locomotive from the LMS (London Midland Southern) group. This 2-8-0 steam locomotive is supposed to be a 8F class, made by London Midland Southern (LMS) in 1937. It was bought by Lego Railway Transportation Society (LRTS) in 1970 and numbered 4818. The engine is painted in a light gray scheme, and features a black box painted on the tender and cab. This locomotive uses Anthony Sava's American 2-8-0 for the frame, with a boiler and cab inspired by my take on the Great Western Railway (GWR) Hall class 4-6-0. NOTE: the rods that go into the pistons are off to the side of the model, as LDD doesn't like them, although it works in real life. I copied the whole tender from the Hall class, as it looked fine enough to use for this engine. As a side note, the tender's middle axle floats in place, as it allows the tender to go through curves by swinging from side to side. (the design came from Anthony Sava's MRS-1 diesel engine) LDD file: (removed because of updates to this engine, please see post #60 for the updated file) Also, the LDD file for the BR class 56-X has been updated. 2-6-0 Mogul steam engine with Vintage passenger train - LDD MOC
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for your comment. I could put gold on the coaches, but I kinda like it the way it is. (Besides, their are not many pearl gold plate parts) The engine is based on the Lone Ranger train but is not exactly the same. (I.E. the Lone Ranger is in the mid-1870's, while my train is from late 1910's.) Also, I recommend the movie. It may be largely historically inaccurate, but it is a nice Western movie with a ton of train scenes. -
Thank you. Here is another building based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) This is my second version of Benny the 1980-something space guy's home, and looks a lot better than the first. Built in 1904 as a automobile repair shop, this building was sold several times until it came into the possession of Benny the 1980-something space guy around 1979. He remodeled the building into his own residence, with a garage on the first floor and his house on the second. The printed 1x1 number tiles spelling out "1978" should go on the studs above the door, as this is the year classic space started and is a appropriate house address. The upper floor features a layout with miniature buildings, a bed, side-table with lamp, computer, a micro-model of Benny's SPACESHIP! LEGO set and a telephone. The back folds to the side providing access to the inside, as seen here. All the colors of classic space are featured in some form on the second floor furnishings and fixtures. It goes like this: Red - table for computer Green - bedspread Yellow - computer chair Blue - lampshade Black - stair railing White - telephone This Classic Space car features: -Trans-Yellow glass / headlights -Classic space logo on the rear of the car (This piece: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 ) -Classic Space accurate color scheme The rear features the (printed!) classic space logo from Benny Spaceship, plus a license plate of your choice. NOTE: This car has had one change to it since I took this picture! The wheel-wells have been changed to the longer style because the short style does NOT exist in this color. Sorry for any confusion on the matter. The LDD file also has the wrong style wheel-wells. LDD file for house and car: http://www.mocpages....1421708109m.lxf EDIT: I should be building the Backwash Saloon on Monday, 1/26/15.

Thank you! Thanks, I wasn't much older than you in 2003 (I turned 9 that year) and I remember looking at this set and going "That's what i want for my Birthday!"... however, I forgot about the set by the time November rolled around. By the way, you can build it now, if you want. All the bricks are available at BrickLink, by using LDD Manager to find what parts in what quantity from the LDD file. That's what I will (eventually) be doing with this building. (I already have the car!)

New Cars! 1921 Classic Automobile - Senor Palomar Senor Palomar, (the notorious South American war lord and ally of Lord Sam Sinister) drives this very expensive car. The vehicle is almost all white, features a V8 engine and it's enclosed cockpit seats only one person. Senor Palomar is mostly recently engaged in finding the Hand of Midas (This artifact is able to turn anything - or anyone - to solid gold when it is touched by the Hand of Midas) and he is doing so not because of Lord Sam Sinister, but for his own evil desires. Lord Sam Sinister is naturally furious, and wants revenge... but to do that, he may have to do the unthinkable: Join forces with Johnny Thunder & friends to defeat the madman known as Palomar! LDD file for this fancy 1920's roadster: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1422037333m.lxf 1923 Roadster - Jake Raines This vehicle was purchased in 1923 by Jake Raines after his original dark red version was destroyed by a rampaging sphyinx during the Pharaoh's Quest adventure. The car features two seats, a six cylinder engine and high-power headlights. The car was most recently used in late 1924 after Jake insisted on going alone to South America to look for a lost treasure called the "Hand of Midas". (This artifact is able to turn anything - or anyone - to solid gold when it is touched by the Hand of Midas) Jake hasn't been seen or heard from since early 1925, and a search is under way led by Jake's mentor, Johnny Thunder. Thank you. The ship is supposed to carry Johnny Thunder's car and / or any treasure to be brought back, like the Golden Dragon of Marco Polo. The car is called the Treasure Raider, and looks like this: LDD file for the Treasure Raider: http://www.mocpages....1404178315m.lxf Thanks, it is meant to be a continuation of Adventurers, with Pharaoh's Quest & Monster Fighters thrown in for good measure. The stories all tie together quite nicely, actually. I had it at one time, but I don't have it any more. I did find the Alexis Sinister figure in pretty good shape, and am using her head on a new-style torso with printed back, along with a 1920's Flapper haircut as first seen on Irina Saplko from Indiana Jones.

This is Benny the 1980-something Space Guy's apartment. It features a garage on the lower floor for his Lego Classic Space - styled Car. The style of the set is based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) Also, unlike most of my buildings, Benny's apartment does not open like a dollhouse, but features removable levels to accesses the inside, much like a modular building. The numbers "60" should go on the stud next to the door, as provided by this piece: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=3070bpb003 The rear of the building is a solid brick wall. (now I'm thinking of that Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in The Wall") The lower floor features Benny's Classic Space-themed car. The upper floor features a layout with miniature buildings, a bed, side-table with lamp, computer, a micro-model of Benny's SPACESHIP! LEGO set and a 1980's telephone. The arch on Benny's LEGO layout features this printed piece courtesy of Astro Kitty: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=4490pb02 This Classic Space car features: -Trans-Yellow glass / headlights -Classic space logo on the rear of the car -Classic Space accurate color scheme The rear features the (printed!) classic space logo from Benny Spaceship: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 Here is the LDD file for the car and building: http://www.mocpages....1425153749m.lxf

(Please note: I could not remember making a topic for this train. I looked through about 15 pages of train topics and couldn't find anything like this... sorry if I missed it or something.) This four car passenger train was inspired by LEGO sets 10015 (Passenger Wagon) and 79111. (Constitution Train chase) The color scheme is based upon the one seen in the movie "The Lone Ranger", although that film takes place in the 1870's and this train is from the 1910's. The locomotive is a 2-6-0 (two leading, six driving, and zero trailing wheels) steam locomotive. The piston design was taken from Benn Coifman and his instructions for adding pistons to set 79111's locomotive, while the tender was inspired by the one attached to Anthony Sava's 4-6-2 steam engine, with SNOT (Studs Not On Top) stripes from his 4-6-0 engine's tender. The rear of the engine features a ladder for access to the cab from the train along with a red tail lamp. The coaches were originally designed to look like set 10015, but the design evolved to it's current form through a combination of expensive parts shortages, guessing and inspiration. The rear of the train is supposed to have "BRS" (short for Brick Railway Systems) in black printed 1x1 tiles situated on the back railing. These letters also go on the sides of the tender, while the number 4613 go on the locomotive cab sides. The LDD file is here if anyone wants it: http://www.mocpages....1421791760m.lxf Here is the pictures of the train in real life: The locomotive is a 2-6-0 (two leading, six driving, and zero trailing wheels) steam locomotive. Engine number 4613 usually pulls the Emerald Express. Combination baggage and passenger car for the Emerald Express. Two identical passenger coaches for the Emerald Express. The observation car of the Emerald Express. The letters BRS stand for Brick Railway Systems, the owner of the train. Comments, questions, & complaints welcome!

The Lone Ranger train is a very good start to a train collection. I turned mine into this: (I have since made matching coaches for this engine and redone the tender to have two double axle bogies bogies instead of one fixed with two single axle bogies.)

This model was inspired by Scotnick1 and his Maithwaite Station model from "The Railway Series", also known as "Thomas and Friends". Here is a album of his with the original station in it: https://www.flickr.c...157639900227095 The station features a five track long platform, which can be retracted to a minimum of three tracks by removing the two side segments. More sections can be added to increase the length to whatever you need, with removable end-caps at either left / right side. All of these platforms are held together by Technic pins. Inside the station proper is a help / ticket desk with cash register, and off to the left side is a employees-only area with stairs to the second floor office. This office features a desk with chair and fireplace. The second floor roof, the second floor proper and first floor roof are removable. Also, the two clocks on the second floor roof are supposed to have this print: http://www.bricklink...asp?P=3960pb024 (This print is not currently available in LDD.) The street side features a short staircase to the front entryway. The studs above these doors and the same on the opposite side are supposed to spell out the station name. I haven't decided on a name for this one yet, but am leaning towards the name "Imperial". Here we see the individual components of the station. This includes: - first floor / main platform (1) - second floor (1) - roof of first floor (1) - roof of second floor / clock tower (1) - end-caps for platform (1 left and 1 right version) - identical platform extenders (2) Here is the LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430322575m.lxf This station will replace Barretts station on my layout (some parts of Barretts will be reused on this model), as this station is larger that the other, and has a street side, whereas Barretts does not. Comments are always welcome!

LU Nexus Force - The Bright Hope - starship and command bridge
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The ldd file and photos have been updated as of Thursday, 1/15/15. I have restructured the saucer of the Bright Hope, while reinforcing it's connection to the engines. The logo (this Artic CITY print: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=15068pb004 ) should go on the front stripe. -

This station was built in 1912 in Glencoe, Missouri for use by Brick Railway Systems. It stands just a stones throw from the Meramec River on the old Pacific Railway of Missouri right-of-way, which first ran through the area in the mid-1850's. The station is a stone structure with a fireplace plus indoor and outdoor waiting areas. The upper floor is for the telegraph operator. As of 1997, the telegraph has been replaced with a computer for the dispatcher to locate any train in his sector at any time using Global Positioning Satellites. (also known as GPS) Here is the track side of the station, featuring a five track long platform. Here is the street side. Their will be printed 1 x 1 tiles spell out the town name of GLENCOE on both of the signs when built in real life. Here is the modular side of things: One left and one right platform, the station proper, the control room and it's roof are all connected by either pins or a very few studs. In reality, the town of Glencoe really exists, but this station does not. There really was a Pacific Railway of Missouri, which bored the first two railway tunnels west of the Mississippi River in the mid 1850's at Barrets, Missouri. Barrets is where the Museum of Transport is located and Glenoce has the Wabash Frisco & Pacific Railway (a 12 inch gauge steam railway) which runs for two mile round trip on the old right of way. The original model seen here is based upon the Brick City Depot "Winter Village Train Station" instructions. I think I have modified it enough to upload the LDD file, which is available here: http://www.mocpages....1421346826m.lxf I have calculated the cost of this model at around a $110 USD (give or take), and am currently raising funds to create it in real life. Comments, questions and complaints are always welcome!

This model is used as a base of operations for Johnny Thunder and his allies. It features a crane to unload cargo, (Please note: The crane is missing this string: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?P=x77ac50 ) a speed boat for ferrying passenger & cargo to the Island Hopper Sea plane, and a hut with radio equipment and a map plus a windmill. This main part of this model was inspired by set 60068, Crooks Hideout (City) along with the crane from set 7596, Trash Compacter (Toy Story 3), speedboat from set 7197, Venice Canal Chase (Indiana Jones: Last Crusade) and the Tramp Steamer from 5975, T-Rex Transport (Adventurers: Dino Island) Just Imagine this scene... Mike is in the crane helping load cargo onto the steamer from the dock. The speedboat is being tied up on the other side of the dock by Major Quinton Steele, as he just go back from the trading post. The windmill creeks in the wind as the Harry Cane huddles inside the shack, waiting for Pippin Reed to arrive in the Island Hopper with Johnny & Jake Raines inside. This is a closer look at the speed boat. It can seat two figures, one steering, and one behind the driver. This ship is an enlarged version of the one I have shown in an earlier thread. Here is the LDD file for the above scene: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1420751456m.lxf This scene is supposed to have this sea plane included, but I figured it was a pretty big file to begin with, so here is a link to the file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1417798403m.lxf There are more topics by me about the adventurers, and here are their links: Main topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92994 The Sinister Family mansion: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102623 Johnny Thunder's office: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102621 Island Hopper Seaplane: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103120 Comments, Questions, & complaints are always welcome!
