  1. It's missing the motor and track, which is unneeded if converting to PF.
  2. But that's the beauty of Lego, If you don't like it, change it. And to the original poster I say this: as someone who has a stepfather who owned tow of these, buy the one, and buy / build a second set without the transformer / motor (set 4560, basically) and run it like the Horizon Express: one engine on each engine, followed by freight / baggage cars/ and in the middle put the passenger cars. Think of it as a 1990's Horizon Express in blue! EDIT: I just checked, and 4560 is avialble for $57 US dollars from a guy in Georgia (the state, not the country): snatch it up soon before it's gone: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=southern_bricks&itemID=77656841
  3. Thank you! Thanks, I was going for a late 1990's look, when the Adventurers theme started. I didn't want to use newer parts to make it rough looking, like the bare walls, missing windows, and crumbling stone in 10228. Besides, it is being lived in shortly (10 years or less) after being built, so it shouldn't have too much different from move-in day 1912.. right?

  5. Thanks everyone for your input. I have considered redoing the nose, but since I have most of the required pieces are already at my disposal, I think I'll keep it that way for now. Sorry to disappoint.
  6. The house was originally made in 2007 as a digital construct by Brickshelf user "Widdi" and was found by me at this address back in late 2014. I then changed the color, added a garage and a back half to the building, and eventually put in a chimney styled after the one in set 10228. The car on the other hand was inspired by this build which was in turn a modified version of set 70911, (Arctic Roller) This model is Sam Sinister's largest ride to date and lacks the spring loaded shooters of the original set. I replaced them with a proper car grille. The garage to the side of the building is unusual, as Victorian houses never had them. Thus, I've decided it was a later addition in 1918 by Sam Sinister when he inherited the house from his father, just after Sam returned from World War I. The rear of the building features a large amount of windows, while the far side has a stone chimney flue. The second floor features the master bedroom / writing room with a small balcony on the right hand side. The furniture on the upper floor features a bed, a desk, table with lamp, a cabinet, and a grandfather clock. The ground floor is little crowded with the kitchen and living room appliances / furniture. The items seen here includes a stove, wine cabinet, table with two chairs, phonograph, couch, curio cabinet, and pool table. The sign above the fireplace is supposed to read "1912" for that is the year the house was built. The building is modular, so the roof top, second floor, and ground floor all come apart from each other. The car by itself is about 8 studs wide (with a tiny 1/2 stud bit of overhang on each side due to the front wheel wells) and 28 studs long in total. As a side note, the headlights are not clipped in the same way as the original set had, and are instead sandwiched in place with 1 x 6 plates sand headlight bricks. The rear of the car features a license plate for Lord Sam Sinister and dual exhaust. The gray round thing on the trunk is supposed to house a spare tire, but it doesn't.... it's really just for looks. Two figures (sans tall hats) can fit side-by-side in the car, and their is space in the opening trunk for a briefcase. The teeny tiny mini-figure out by the front door of the house is Lord Sam Sinister... it just gives you an idea how massive the house and car really are! Fictional information on the house's history: Built in 1912, Sinister Manor is one of the last houses built in the Victorian Style of architecture in Ironwood county. It was built by Lord Gregory Sinister for his family, and features one thing not usually seen on Victorian houses: a automobile garage (it was added later on in 1918 when Sam Sinister returned from the Great War.) The house was left to Gregory's family, (his son Sam Sinister & his sister Alexis Sinister) upon the elder Sinister's death of a stroke in 1913. Sam Sinister went on to serve in the British army in World War I, losing his left hand in the conflict and replacing it with a iron hook. When he returned from the conflict Sam set about continuing his fathers tradition: collecting treasures and precious artifacts, through legal and illegal means. The collection was stored in the Attic of the sinister Mansion until it became too large and was moved to a more secure (and secret) location. Thoughts? Complaints? Questions? Feel free to post them! Main Post Edited 2/14/17: added new pictures of the building and the new car. LDD file for both car and house available here.
  7. The engines were Inspired by Facebook user Leonard Blevins' diesel engine, from which I built my own version. I think it looks like a Electro-Motive Division F40PH, which was (in real life) mainly built for Amtrak. Also, the letters BRS go on the side of the cab below the windows on the 3 exposed studs, while the number of the engine (8773 for example,) go on the 4 studs below the windows. Also, I know there is no such thing as a B unit for a F40PH. But since this is pretty much fictional already, I added one. I colored the engine the way it is to compliment set 60052: Cargo Train. As the engine in the set is freight, this one is passenger based. I even kept the windows the same light blue color, and yellow warning stripes on the cab end to compliment each other. Speaking of the cab, the roof is removable to place the engineer inside at the controls. This also increases play-ability. Here we see the F40PH's front. I added safety stripes because they looked nice, and I had some spares I thought would look nice there. The whole build was inspired by this piece from Leonard Blevins diesel: http://alpha.brickli...age?P=30022#T=C Here is the view inside the cab with the roof removed. (sorry for the blurry picture!) The B unit does not have a removable roof, or interior, for that matter. the rear of the engine features a walkway to the train. Here is the fancy sloped rear observation car of the express passenger train. The passenger cars are not yet ordered. LDD file for the engine by itself: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1441300586m.lxf Well, what do you think? EDIT: added train cars, new engine and new ldd file. If a MOD could change the title to "F40PH diesels with express passenger train" it would be much appreciated. EDIT #2: change train color to blue and added new ldd file. EDIT #3: Added real life pictures!
  8. i get a strong feeling of nostalgia for LEGO Island 2 while viewing this model. is that the constructopedia in the main lobby? Better not let the Brickster get it! Anyway, you really got the feeling of the info center down. Now all you need is this figure: http://alpha.brickli...#T=S&O={"ii":1} EDIT: typo
  9. The latest Adventurers build is nearly complete! I purchased the Sinister family Mansion a while back, and as of today, it's still not done. The furniture isn't finished (it should be on Monday), and some parts are missing from the roof in the rear that won't be in for a week or more. Also, while building, I moved the garage backwards some for more stability when transporting. (it fell apart somewhat during construction) I also feel that it looks better that way, as it's doesn't looks like it was slapped onto the blueprints as much as it did before. Anyway, this is the tallest building I've built yet, but it is smaller height-wise than the Haunted House (set 10228) by just a few bricks... at least, that's what LDD says. Comments, complaints, and questions are always welcome! P.S. I will upload the finished model pictures when the furniture parts arrive on Monday!
  10. Sorry for the long wait, my last order for this engine (of 30 USD worth of parts) got lost in the mail. So I ordered some more parts from another two sellers and they should be here soon. Once again, sorry for the long wait.
  11. it's a three way toss up between Locomotive Breath by Jethro Tull, Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, and For You Blue by The Beatles. I couldn't decide on just one!
  12. Not yet built, but the wing actually spin on a central axis (Like in Babylon 5) so that sagging shouldn't be a problem... I think.
  13. Added the personnel picture to the first post. The Neo-Nexus Force, pilots, droids, and officers. Front row (right to left) Supreme Commander Bob, Ambassador to alien forces (specifically the Norstas) Johnny B. Goode Second row: veteran flight officer Casey Jones, chief medical officer Maxwell "Hammer" Edison, "Robbie" the robot helper Third row: Captain Cecelia Robinson, Major Tom (last name unknown), Sgt. Billy "Pepper" Shears, pilot Harry "Taxi" Chappin, Jethro "Aqualung" Tull.
  14. I updated the first post. It now includes pictures of my completed Retro rockets and unfinished Ice Station Odyssey. You can see more pictures such as this in the first post! Also, please check out my micro scale space station / weapons platform at this topic here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113534
  15. You could do Dark Red for the engine instead of light purple, or maybe even Dark purple. (that isn't too far of a stretch) you'd just need to change the windows to this: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=4035#T=C Also, as I said on flickr, you might need some Big Ben Bricks wheels to do this, if your don't mind 3rd party parts.
  16. Judgment at Nuremberg? If i'm right, someone else can take my turn... EDIT: ninja'd by Courleciel!
  17. That top picture (the old model) is flipped. The building has it's door on the exact same side as the new one, just so you know.
  18. Wondering how much longer it will take my last bits of my steam engine (4-8-4 Daylight 4460) to arrive. They shipped on the 6th from California, and I'm in Missouri. As for what I'm doing NOW (besides worrying the postal service ate my package), I am taking pictures of my LEGO Universe Nexus Force real life models... I should have them done and posted by tomorrow.
  19. How about this, inspired Dr_Spock's models, here is my space station for the Nexus Force: The Dr_Spock original is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_spock_888/20558633496/in/dateposted/

  21. This space station orbits the ice world of Beta Polaris, pointed at the direction of the trans-dimensional rip in space-time that leads to Lego Universe. The station is really an advanced weapons platform, capable of vaporizing any enemy fighters or heavily damaging Maelstrom star-cruisers. The station features a large ionic plasma cannon at it's nose, with re-purposed solar panels (they are now giant chaos-energy sensors) taking up space just behind it. The next section is the crew quarters. This section rotates to provide gravity, but the battle computers and command bridge are further towards the nose and do not rotate, thus they are in zero gravity. The space behind the crew quarters is the engineering department, which also lacks gravity. This section contains the nuclear fusion reactor power plant, which provides power to the station, while also powering the ionic plasma weapon at the other end of the station. The name of the platform is Space Station Odyssey II, after the near-identical first station was destroyed in a freak accident involving the ionic plasma weapon. NOTES: This build was heavily inspired by Doctor_Spock_888's brick separator hyper-drive model, seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_spock_888/20558633496/in/dateposted/ Also, two of this print should go on the slopes on the crew section: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=15068pb004#T=C&C=4 The ldd file is here, if anyone wants it: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1439821376m.lxf Any thoughts, complaints, questions and / or comments are welcome!
  22. Lord Sam Sinister's family Mansion & car Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113860 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1440516587m.lxf
  23. Update: The Sam Sinister Mansion model is now on order from about five sellers for about $280 US, with the furniture to be parted out & purchased soon. As for changes between this newest version and the older versions, I added a (heavily 10228-inspired) fireplace which was severely lacking from the original model. The LDD file has been updated accordingly. Building should commence within a week, maybe a week and a half.
  24. Sorry for the late reply, but I'm not really that great, I just have great teachers. (there are too many to list!) Anyway, I ordered the engine's parts last Wednesday and the total came too just over $170 USD with shipping and handling not included. Here is a look back at what made this engine a project for over two years: Here is the 4460 in it's original form, uploaded to Flickr on August 8th 2013 and originally created by Flickr user BricArtist4U, (also on Cuusoo as Brickmania4U) It was made in the style of 4449's red, orange and black scheme, which I modified into this War-time black & gray, as the engine was never painted in Daylight colors. The pistons, tender and cab have been changed from the LXF provided by Brickmania via LEGO.com's LDD gallery. The model would never have worked, so I kept tinkering with it for several years, eventually abandoning the engine in this form. which leads me to the next picture... ..this is the 4460 in it's second version, made in January 2014, brought to my attention by MOCpages user J D Davis, though it was reconstructed from pictures of Anthony Sava's design of 4460's cousin, the more famous 4449. This engine was WAY bigger than my Berkshire 2-8-4, (which was later extended into the Texas 2-10-4 type) and was considerably more parts intensive, and as such, COSTLY. I priced it out at about 300 US dollars, and then I realized it probably wouldn't fit in my 6-track-long train shed, so I went back to the drawing board and came up with... This engine from July 2015! It was originally inspired by SavatheAggie's 2-6-4 Pacific, but it now uses design cues from his 2-8-4 Berkshire, the Emerald Night,LEGO set, the pistons from Zephyr1934's lone Ranger engine MOD and the original tender frame from the first incarnation of the 4460. This is the version's parts that were ordered (plus a couple last minute fixes), and they should be here by sometime next week. This engine isn't too long or too wide and feels like it's proportional to the real thing. This is the model that has been parted out and ordered. It should be here by next week / weekend. Thanks to everyone who has helped me on this journey from the very beginning way back in 2013, all the way up to last week. SavatheAggie, Zephyr1934, ScotNick1, Fireglo450, J D Davis, and many more friends, sources of inspiration, and teachers from so many websites that I couldn't possibly list all of the people or places. Keep watching this space for pictures of the built locomotive, coming sometime next week!
  25. Well, the one in the Santa Fe Super chief and BNSF disesl sets are stickers, but I've found some workarounds: (photo's from Bricklink) This one I used on my ALCO PA / PB booster locomotives: http://alpha.brickli...age?P=61485#T=C This one could be used on any number of diesels with a white, red, or dark red color scheme. http://alpha.brickli...69pb022#T=C&C=1 This one will be used on my GM Electro Motive FT demonstrator #103, and can also be used on remakes of the Santa Fe Super Chief: http://alpha.brickli...35pb01#T=C&C=85 If you want a more exact match to the Super Chief, try this piece: http://alpha.brickli...50px21#T=C&C=11 If you prefer stickers like the original set, than look here for the part and about six others like this: http://www.bricklink...P&catString=638
