I think you are missing LK901's point. He means that the writer would be hired for the in-house Castle TV show storyline/scripts, and the designers make sets based on that story. A dream, if possible.

UoP DoH +1 on both claims.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Inspiration just struck! Not for GOH (or even Lego), but for a bit of historical time travel fiction. It came in a stream of consciousness, and I had to type it immediately. Here's the bit that grabbed me: "She danced around, beyond the veil somewhere. It didn't matter in that moment how she had gotten there, or if she would return. She was motion; to a rhythm that wasn't quite sound, traversing a bridge made of spirit." I am very happy now, since I had been struggling to write all day. My focus had been on sci-fi, but my muse has decided otherwise. Hopefully this creative spurt can get me building again, too. -
The build is exactly what I have come to expect from you, which is beautiful intricacy. The story, though, is what had me. The struggle with the weight of responsibility is something rarely expressed in this kind of fiction, but for the situation is quite appropriate.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Given that Halloween decorations, candy and costumes show up as early as August in some places, this is a no-brainer. This gives those that go all out the time to stockpile. Think about it: Lego instead of candy. Expensive, yes, but I'm betting someone might think it a grand idea. -

Someone mentioned the Superheroes theme: this piece is what they were referring to. -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Work on the Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus has resumed. The 64x64 build has been quite a challenge, with fits and restarts, and the Civil War Challenge having consumed much of my build drive. Today, though, I came up with a design for an undead kelpie, as the mount for one of Lord Vladivus' retinue. I have a rough outline of the location history in mind, but may leave its exact spot on the map to Lord Vladivus. -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
The undead ruler claims himself Pharaoh, but he cannot be the living-Horus. The Mountain Mummies who worship Horus will never follow such blasphemy. The Nestlands Clans of the Armored Eagle Goddess, by Her word, are a democratic people. We govern ourselves, and by mutual treaty, have representation at the High Council. We bow to no King. The First Centurion seeks to make himself Dictator, and impose his culture upon the diverse free peoples of Kaliphlin. Forced assimilation is to be met with the swiftest of ferocity. Our lands are sacred, and we will be who we are. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

Twitch had hard trans-clear folded wings, but that mold is likely the property of Disney. The CMF Fairy wings would work in trans-clear or trans-black if they had some iridescent printing. Has anyone else considered that the body of this fly character could be that of a scientist, like the old B-movie The Fly (not the Jeff Goldblum remake)? -

UoP DoH +1 on both claims. Edst Nol will gladly receive those fleeing the Desert King's tyranny. Mountain Mummies bearing the Mark of Horus are prepared to act as escorts.

Awesome build. That tree is inspired. UoP DoH +1 on both credits. Be sure you remember, the tree credit is one of three. Also you should post your claim in the UoP thread as well, and make a post in the Tracking thread.

Lego can do round figures. Remember Mrs. Puff?

About the faction repeat, I saw the 2013 Lions as a version of the Royal Knights (blue instead of red, which I liked). Hopefully any future elves will have a heraldry akin to the CMF Elf.

For me, the guitar reminds me of BTTF, so if I ever get Marty, he'll get the guitar. -
I never got into the game, and will probably skip the movie, but am hopeful for some interesting parts for future MOCs. Please remember that 3D animation takes years to produce, and that the movie and Lego's licensing deal may have been conceived five or more years ago. I have listened to enough Pixar movie commentaries to know that it can take 5+ years just in the actual making of one of these movies. 3D animation is very much like stop-motion animation, but takes much longer. Add in property rights and other media tie-ins, and it might been even longer.

Scrappy was obviously an attempt at getting younger kids that weren't already viewers. Scooby is an adult dog, though his character is very child-like, and the rest of the gang are supposed to be driving age teens. When Scrappy came on the scene, though, the gang still dressed in the styles from nearly a generation before, so young children might not see them as teens, but as adults. The lack of parents in much of the shows was the real problem here, but the writers or studio opted for a younger character to appeal to the new kid audience. Later iterations had to keep solving how to get the next generation of viewers interested in the brand. The recent Mystery Incorporated show included the parents more, and solidified the idea that they are teenagers, even though the clothing styles are decades old. I had other issues with that show, but that is a topic for another time. I doubt that Scrappy will be reprised in the upcoming version, and if he isn't it is less likely he will get a mold.

Remember, Lego Ideas also has a minimum age limit. To be a member you must be 13 years or older. That means the Ideas target demographic is teens to adults. The Big Bang Theory is rated TV14, and the set depicts nothing more than seven friends in a living room with lots of interesting details.

@Fuppylodders: Actually that whiteboard references the episode when he and Leonard get robbed. It is Penny who is guessing. The phrase is "Higgs Boson Particle." On the shelf is Sheldon's Lego Death Star (left) and Leonard's Bottle City of Kandor (right).

Your work is always wonderful. What puts this over the top for me is the reverse lettering, just like master Renaissance man himself. And it does belong here.
