NPU! I see that I'm not the only one who likes those Indiana Jones whips for vines. That dragon is brilliant! Are those Ron Weasley hair as the brush? You should add that tree to the Tree Building Guide.

I don't think it is against site rules to link to watermarked images, just directly posting them. PM a mod first. If it's okay, then upload them to some site like imgur or flickr, and then use hyperlink instead of image embed. Then BrickJagger can copy the link to the first page.

If you can get pics of the sets, don't post them directly if they are watermarked. We don't want you to get banned. Thank you for sharing what you can.

Hopefully, the Blade Cruiser is a boat.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
The Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus is finished! Photography is going to be a problem, though. Currently it is too bright outside for pics, and at 64x64, my usual set-up for pics may not work. I'll find a way. Hopefully I will have a thread up by this weekend. -
Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
gedren_y replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Disney Infinity can be seen as a direct competitor of Lego Dimensions. I believe to avoid all confusion, this series will likely avoid all human, or human type (Toy Story), characters. The current roster of the Mickey Clubhouse show includes Pete, Mortimer, Prof. VonDrake, and Clarabelle. Chip and Dale have shown up in the show, but they wouldn't be much in scale unless they were microfigs, and in that case they would probably come with Donald. On the other hand, this could be more about the character representations at the Disney parks (I believe I speculated this before). In that case, Chip and Dale could be fig sized, and have their own bags. I would hope to get Pluto as a fully articulated figure, similar to the classic monkey. Lego failed to do this with Scooby-Doo, but I live in hope.- 4,155 replies

I don't want to argue Earth historical context, which probably has no bearing here anyway. That is all I am saying. Not your cup of tea, okay.

My point was that we don't need to hash out that discussion here. Nexo Knights; what is rumored, what is known. We have a banner, some set and character names with price points. The likelihood of a major media campaign. I see a theme centered on play, like I used to with my old He-Man toys. I had Teela, by the way. I will probably be able to adapt much of this to my GOH building, but some will have to go into my sci-fi collection. I have a grand space station market build planned for some time in the future, so adding to that selection while acquiring parts for other themes just makes good economic sense to me.

You want to talk history, I can delve into pre-Roman Celtic social equality. This isn't the place for that discussion, though. Modern sensibilities drive TLG's choices in character development. Female knights in a fantasy realm that includes some technology makes enough sense as anything, given modern attitudes about children's toys. This theme isn't going to please everybody, but it could be popular with the target kid audience.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

About the Woody legs: I believe Disney owns the rights to that specific mold set. That's why it hasn't been seen in anything else. The baldric that was made for PotC seems to be in the same boat, but got use in another Disney property, The Lone Ranger. This CMF line may actually see the return of the long legs for some taller Disney characters, like Goofy, Clarabelle and possibly Mortimer. For Pete, there is always the possibility of a belly mold. Sully could be done with a combination of long legs, tail, and head/body mold. He might fit, and just be quite bulky like Medusa was.- 4,155 replies

Sorry to burst your bubble, Lyichir, but Nintendo has a deal with K'NEX. Granted, I've only seen them make Mario related stuff, but I doubt they will go to a separate building toy company to produce something based on one of its other classic properties. As for Macy, it could be a man's name, but most likely it is a woman's name here. I believe the female term is 'knight errant'. In KKI the princess was armored. Come to think of it, I have a Knight Errant Magic: The Gathering card.

@ amazingbricks: About the name Aaron; the relation could be 'iron' which could mean he is a blacksmith type, and be the inventor of the group. I believe the world these knights inhabit will be like MOTU. Magic, creatures, and castles, with some technology mixed in.

About the possibility of a concurrent theme with this one; a classical period theme might actually work. Lego has plenty of existing molds to do it, and this period in history should be different enough to Nexo Knights. It could range from the Grecian Forums to Ptolemaic Egypt and on to Roman Britannia. Or they could go in a completely different direction, and use their The Wizard of Oz license. In any event, this theme has the potential to utilize a number of recent molds in new colors. I am excited.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is possible that some retailers may discount this series after Halloween, if they have other stock (Simpsons 2). Remember, the original Simpsons series was available through Dec. 2014, even on the Lego site (US at least), while other series came and went. It will all depend on whether the retail chains are controlling the content of their Lego stock, or if TLG controls what gets made available for sale. -
I get why historical builders likely won't enjoy this theme supplanting a more traditional Castle theme. I don't fault them for this. I, however, do like what this is shaping up to be. This sort of sci-fantasy is something I like. If this theme is intended to last, hopefully for Castle purists there will be plenty of structure builds that can be used more traditionally. I MOC in any event, and only build Lego's provided design once to see if there is anything useful in how it is put together. I anticipate this to be a realm fantastic. For the sake of fun, sometimes realism has to go out the window.

Ooh, this reminds me of one of the old Bionicle minifigure weapons: 55237i. I love the look of a lot of those weapons.

My cousin works at Walgreens. I'll have to ask her when I'm at her son's birthday party tomorrow. I wonder if her store discount extends to Lego. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have never understood the impetus to collect them all. Where I can, I buy what I want for build purposes. I also dismantle figs. From the Simpsons series I only bought Apu for his body, and used it for GOH. I got a few from TLM. A Star Wars series is never going to happen. Hasbro saw to that when they sued Lego about the magnet sets. Exclusive action figure rights. That's why they are glued down. -

That's Ashley's Furniture Homestore in the background. Nationwide chain store. Someone made a score. -
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was my first introduction to fantasy castle. There is supposedly another remake (they did one in 2002) somewhere in development. I still remember the flying sled that came off of the tank. I had it and Castle Greyskull. I even watch the 1987 live action movie from time to time. If this is an in-house version of the world of Eternia, I will be quite content. The techno-barbarian feel can be done with only minimal sci-fi elements. Characters having enhanced forms, with possible magical or powered abilities, to be used as a play gimmick is fine by me. I am a parts buyer, so Lego's intended designs have little bearing in what I buy. The show; well I don't even get Cartoon Network, so I will likely only see it if it gets on Netflix, or some other streaming service. I write my own stories for my figs. Maybe I'll make my builds Eternia some time later. Ooh, ideas! Play sets should be the order of the day, with some great place scenes. When it comes to having fortifications, yes siege machines are acceptable. I would like to see Lego do something like they tried to do for Morcia, where the fortifications could be dressed for one side or the other. Continue with the modular castle builds, so that the smaller sets can add up to a fort by themselves, or be added to the big set. All the fantastical elements (sci-fi or not) can be the icing, to be discarded if you don't like the flavor. That would be ideal. I will be okay with Lego falling short of that, though.

Knights Nexo, Nexo Knights, or Knights of Nexo. It all depends on the conjugation of what is believed to be an adjective in the language it was found in, and if that was translated from some other language (has happened before). Or could Nexo be a place name?

At my Target, the CMFs are usually at the end of the action figure aisle. But I haven't been since Target's new policy of non-gender specification of their toys. -
Lost Temple? Scooby-Doo maybe? Was there a temple in the witch doctor episode?

It's not quite clear, what happened to the assassin to make him fall and release Udgr? Did the woodcutter do something, or was it some rock or arrow that came from outside of the encounter? The build works just fine for GOH. I believe there are similarly constructed buildings in Qarkyr. Additionally the Kaliphlin Times had quite a circulation some time ago. The story is very engaging, and the stakes are very real. Betrayal and death do happen when one is engaged in armed resistance.

I keep seeing the equating with WoW, Tolkien and D&D, but Masters of the Universe is the closest thing from the information gleaned. That 80's show had castles, magic and sci-fi, all on an alien world. This theme being in that vein, while it may not appeal to the purist castle crowd, should be great for kids. The inclusion of a robot horse gives me hope that I might be able to build my vision of The Warlock In Spite Of Himself, a great sci-fi novel that spawned a whole host of others. Swords and future science, makes me happy.
