I just took a close look at the launcher on Clay's Rumble Blade (what it's called in the image) and it appears that the shields are actually two pieces. There seems to be a dark blue version of the trans-orange pieces on the shields on the top of the launcher. Now I must buy it.

Finally got to see the images. There is a lot here for me. I don't concern myself with the sets and theme idea, but the parts will fill a lot of my building needs. Some stuff will be shifted to my sci-fi building, which I may finally get around to. I am a little disappointed that the robo horse isn't anything close to Fess, but I will get over it.

I believe SarahJoy, who seems to be on hiatus right now, was the last female to join Kaliphlin. A lot of the current loss seems to have been from the deluge that was the Kaliphlin Civil War. I built some stuff for it, but after a while I stopped even voting. Right now I am working on my story builds, and dismantling my big embassy build. Like many, I am waiting on the Nocturnus Civil War prelude builds. The Tavern also seems to have fallen by the wayside.

CM4Sci, could the Jestro head you saw have been this as a placeholder? You posted 'skeleton with lipstick' and I immediately thought of Krazi from the first wave of Ninjago (which had a pretty useful fortress if you left off the stickers and the flick fires).

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Vampire Bride from MF, not the CMF Spider Lady, was Lily Munster. I was responding to kelceycoe's post from the previous page. -
Lego Minifigures Series 15 Guessing Game
gedren_y replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
TLG doesn't do modern religion, unless it is a completely fictional portrayal in a license (i.e. Voodoo Doll Jack). Vodun, what many call Voodoo, is an actual religion that is still practiced. Catholic depictions are also out. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

The Vampire Bride was obviously Lily Munster, famously portrayed by Yvonne De Carlo. -

Husbandry Challenge: Hearts and Minds
gedren_y replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Lord Vladivus Stormbringer is very good at making sure his 'people' are taken care of. I made that point part of the story of my Embassy build. The Lord himself has now given us visual proof of that fact. -
Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
The minidoll itself was likely TLG trying to capture a portion of the doll buying market (non-Lego buyers), as they have tried in the past. This time it seems to have worked, as I have seen minidoll sets in the doll aisle of several retailers, and there have been knock-offs. The minidoll also looks a lot like Polly Pocket, which had a major following in the US. As to Disney Princesses: since it is a Disney brand that has multiple products, including My Size dolls, it is likely that Disney wanted the figures to as resemble the characters as closely as possible. The minidolls do that. This is all about targeted marketing of the Disney Princesses brand, which Disney tightly controls. -
I was watching Thor today (watching it again now with commentary) and remembered that we didn't get sets for Thor and Thor: The Dark World. Asgard has such epic grandeur with gleaming ancient style architecture. A real mash up of sci-fi and fantasy, and five warrior friends (one of whom is female) in very singular outfits. We did get Thor and Loki, but Lady Sif and the Warriors Three are quite absent. Yeah, the world of Nexo Knights isn't going to be Asgard, but maybe the correlation may help people see that Castle can be more than medieval (historical or fantasy).

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Umbra-Manis, I believe you meant to use infrared, which is the heat detecting vision of the deep dwellers. Ultraviolet is at the other end of the spectrum, and is the harshest part of daylight. Otherwise, wonderful intro. -
What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
gedren_y replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Much of the vampire myth in Bram Stoker's tale is based on Irish folklore. The Hun Warrior CMF looks more like the painting of Vlad(III) Tepes than the Vampire CMF, which is obviously based on Bela Lugosi's portrayal of Dracula. -
UoP DoH +1 on all claims.

IP is why we haven't seen the baldric piece outside of POTC and The Lone Ranger, even though it is generic. Here's hoping that TLG has designed a waist piece to produce the effect. It shouldn't be hard, given the waist pieces already designed.

Lego ID is still messed up. I tried to login on Ideas, which had been requiring me to login twice just to access My Dashboard. It still made me do that, but no login. The shop won't get past the login page. I doubt this has anything to do with LDD. I wonder if Lego employees are having login trouble as well.

While this build is wonderful, packed with detail, and quite deserving of UoP DoH credits, you can only claim four credits. Once you have decided on the credit you wish to drop, I'll give my up or down vote.

What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
gedren_y replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It bothers me a little that most people use the Roman name for Herakles. The result of Zeus' infidelity was named for Hera. It is part of the myth. There are plenty of mythological/religious figures from so many cultures that TLG could sprinkle them in the CMFs for years before they use up the list of non-objectionable ones. -
The Force Friday was also speculated to be the date of the next LDD update, because of the sets plausibly having new parts that might be in the next update. It is entirely conceivable that TLG decided that all the press releases should go out the same day, using the big property to garner attention for all the others.

What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
gedren_y replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Cupid? Which version? The classical version is the Roman name of the god Eros, the son of Aphrodite. Though he was sometimes depicted with wings, he was a grown man and the embodiment of male perfection. He also had a darker side. There is a story of when a hero, possibly Herakles (proper Greek spelling), was hailed the male ideal, Eros became a demonic version of himself as the physical embodiment of jealousy. The modern version is a misconception. The image is that of a cherub, one of the lower orders of angels. -
Thanks everybody. This was one of my fastest builds. Not a lot of complicated detail, but I think it captures the feel of a very clean temple courtyard. This build was mainly to set up the Nestlands Clans story, outside of Sdair's quest. Politics in the Nestlands, religious revival, and the practical matters of a population having weathered an occupation by invaders. Yes, TitusV, the priest does recite the passage from memory. The tower was pretty basic, but the simple lines evoke a sense of the austere. Cobalt is a major source of blue pigment, and the major city's name is proof that there is no shortage of the stuff in the Nestlands. Most of the buildings in Cobalt Vale will have some blue somewhere. The basin happened because I had yet to use the white version of those arch pieces.
