  1. Which then could be used for a more historical Castle line one day, maybe?
  2. Thanos is in love with her. That's why he smiles in the mid-credits scene of the Avengers. Have you never seen the Showtime TV series Dead Like Me?
  3. I am currently using a raised baseplate (from a Police set) in a MOC. It looks like an old quarry, so that is how I plan to use it. The problem with raised baseplates is the volume to weight ratio. Packaging something like the 32x48 raised baseplates require larger boxes which increase weight, cost more to ship, and use up valuable space on retailer shelves. Lower contour baseplates, like the old lunar landscape version, could still be feasible.
  4. Wow! It looks just like those cross-section images in the non-fiction castle books in my library.
  5. Gold beard! Now I will be able to do that awesome headdress idea I've had on one of my LDD files. I envision it on the Tonto head. More wacky stuff to add to GOH next year.
  6. The special series is likely the German Football series. I'm hoping I can convince my cousin to acquire the series for me, though she doesn't even follow her own country's national team.
  7. About the gender of the personification of Death; in many pre-Roman Celtic cultures the mother goddesses were also goddesses of death and destruction. The Banshee is actually a herald of death, not just ill fortune like the CMF bio. TLG did the softening. Ghosts and other dead things are okay, but foretelling someone's death is not. Huh? I guess since she is in the Minifigures Online game they had to make it so that other characters weren't always dying around her. Her look is another issue entirely. I guess a rabbit's head with sharp teeth is a little "out there" for a children's toy. Given that the word Banshee is an anglicized version of the Gaelic ban-sidhe, translating it into a language from a culture that said creature did not come from would cause problems.
  8. What we need is a hallway with doors on both sides (6-8) for those chase sequences. There is so much that Lego could do with the gang, and hopefully the new series will provide alternate looks for the gang on some of the mysteries. Disguises and situational wear are some things that Lego could do to make more sets (giving us more monsters ): scuba gear, workout apparel, black 'sneaking around' clothing, law enforcement costumes, when Fred gets extreme (I think I remember him going skydiving), Fred and Velma in welding/engineering gear (him making traps and her building some scientific mechanism), Scooby in a dress (the amount of crossdressing he has done is considerable ), and when one of the gang stumbles into the place where the bad guy dresses up and gets partially costumed (usually Shaggy, but the others have done it too). Then there are the ancillary characters: Scrappy and Scooby's other relatives, the parents of the gang, the various police who arrest the bad guy, and the creepy sub-plot characters that get mistaken for the bad guy. We also need a 1x2x2 brick w/ a 1x2 tile printed for a box of 'Scooby Snax', not just the regular food that Shaggy and Scooby consume on a regular basis.
  9. Satyrs are supposed to be short, so I'm betting on the short legs with printing.
  10. Ooh! Plant ideas! Lots of other things. Creatures for GOH, and aliens, robots and combat armor for Sci-fi. Parts! New wedges! Decorations! Set design? Don't care. Were this theme gets categorized? Don't care.
  11. It would never happen, but MSNBC vs FoxNews! Berkeley Breathed is back, so Bloom County! I want me an Opus minifigure!
  12. Finally finished my list, with a major change to the first one. Check it out.
  13. I really wish I was financially able to go to something with my fellow GOH builders. Even though I'm a teetotaler, I'd probably be the one to instigate a lip sync battle. Oh, well. Blow the roof off some place for us that can't go, guys.
  14. Adair's storyline has an active resistance. The Nestlands Clans are helping with the sheltering of civilians and some non-combat support. The DK may impose some kind of tax on Nestlands goods, and the still unfinished Lost Vega casino may have to contribute a portion of its profits to help ensure the community's autonomy. Didn't the DK threaten to sink Ulandus again? Also, there was a Ulandian resistance too, but I thought they nominally supported the High Council. If the sub-continent stays, then it will likely be mired in regional conflict that could give us a challenge for Book III.
  15. As soon as I found the three images that had been hosted on TTV and 4chan I saved them to my computer. No, I will not host them anywhere else. These are the ones that most have seen anyway.
  16. The Nestlands seem to be experiencing a hands off policy from the Desert King. It has been proven that the Nestlands are difficult to occupy by outside forces. Additionally, the Clans produce much of the pigment that goes into the wonderful color of Kaliphlin, and are major mineral and ore suppliers to the two greatest ports in the east of Kaliphlin. Reports of Sdair's quest have buoyed the spirits of the Nestlands Clans, and industry is up. Foreign trade has resumed in Cobalt Vale, but with it came an unfortunate incident. On the northern foothills of Vesw Nol an Avalonian man failed to heed the laws of the Nestlands. He killed, and cooked, a giant eagle. No one is telling exactly what happened to the man who called himself Aldicus Kol, but his distinctive lime green pack was found next to his uneaten, blasphemous food. One child claimed he saw a piece of yellow skinned scalp being carried by a monitor lizard, but this remains unconfirmed. The Vesw Nol Forestry Service have taken up the care of the eggs of the slain eagle. The Minister of External Affairs, Aturl Prndrn, was unavailable for comment, as he had left on a diplomatic relations mission to one of the northern Kaliphlin communities in the Rakath. No other Avalonian trading in the Nestlands has claimed any relation to this Aldicus Kol. The administrative staff of the Ministry of External Affairs has retained the offenders possessions, and public notices listing the most heinous crimes, and their punishments, in the Nestlands were posted to avoid further incidents. That is all the Clans have to say on the matter.
  17. The preliminary catalog images of the sets have shown up on Facebook. Not the artwork image, though, from what I've seen. The other set images have been by people here that don't want to get in trouble with TLG, so are not sharing them. I am excited. New molds (I count at least 12) that have potential for expanding building techniques. I don't build the TLG provided themes anyway, so I don't care that this is a futuristic knights theme. I build more than just historical fantasy, so parts in sets that fall outside those needs don't bother me in the slightest. In any event, I am certain that a number of the parts shown are not the finished product. The pentagons on the shields are all that trans-neon orangeish color, but the artwork has them as different colors. Some of the parts that have stickers will likely be printed, like those 1x1 tiles. That old chrome sword might even be a placeholder for the new mold shown in the artwork image. The Elves theme may actually be why this theme is so non-traditional. Let that sink in.
  18. Okay. How many green monkeys do you need before someone starts singing about them being in love? Thanks for the info.
  19. Robin is likely the Lloyd of this theme, the child who could go either way.
  20. The Bull Knight is likely Aaron. I made the iron/Aaron supposition some time ago, and it makes sense given the images. The grey knight is Lance. You can tell by the helmet on the set images. With the visor down it has a prominent crest.
  21. Lance is the one with the horse symbol, as he is completely silver in the set image, and he is holding a lance (trans) in the artwork image.
  22. About the crossbow, I think it is actually two parts. It looks like the bow part has been designed so that it can accommodate either a stud shooter or spring launcher. 70315 does look like it splits into three, the center being a motorcycle. There is what looks like a wheel under the nosecone. Moltor looks to have the large hand weapon mold from Chima and LOTR/Hobbit orc armor. His Lava Smasher also seems to have one of those pentagon parts from the shields in black, and the new wedge part from the castle in brown/dark brown/dark red. I can't wait to see the shields sans pentagon piece. I am already thinking of using it in some science lab type build. If the final shields do come with the heraldry type printing shown in the cartoon style pic, I can see a build using those as banners hung on the walls of a great hall. I like that the mobile castle (in the background of the artwork pic) uses the large linking treads instead of rubber tread pieces, because those are great for making round towers. Now I need to get that set as well. Lots of ideas swirling around my head.
  23. Blue & grey vs. black & red, with monster bad guys. That at least sounds like the first wave of Fantasy Era. Improbable, wacky builds, that too sounds like FE. Numerous vehicle builds. FE was more than a third vehicle oriented builds. Action play oriented sets are what sell to the target audience. The cartoon will likely be labeled Action Adventure, as most fantasy cartoons are. Tech fantasy does qualify as fantasy. MOTU was barbarian tech fantasy, and Nexo Knights can be called medieval tech fantasy. Castle cyberpunk? Yes, this is replacing Chima, which was supposed to replace Ninjago, but failed to capture the audience. Ninjago-esque type sets are likely to be the norm for the target audience for some time. Hopefully we will see some more structure/place builds once the show launches.
  24. In terms of story points for the current series, Rose Tyler and Martha Jones are important companions. I've yet to watch through season eight, though, and will have to wait for season nine to be released on Netflix.
  25. From what I've seen, the crossbow looks like the same outer part as the one in Star Wars, just the interior shooter piece is different.
