Let's not waste time getting into arguments about historical castles. Lego castles have never even come close to the reality, because they would be cost prohibitive. Heraldry is one thing that TLG can improve upon. Their technical capacity has improved, as well as shield design, but there are limitations to the amount of printing that can be put on a shield for its cost. I still say that the way we would plausibly get some kind of historical theme while Nexo Knights exists would be something different from medieval Europe. This whole discussion doesn't really have much to do with the current theme, though. I even forgot which thread I was responding to, seeing the posts.

I have a Jason vs. Medusa LDD build I was working on. So far it's just the remnants of some ancient Greek style architecture. It needs work, but it could be a good set. I even used one of the large Juniors baseplates as the stone floor. I also have a small Viking longship in LDD that I posted a while ago. It would need reworking, and I would add a frost giant on a glacier as an opponent. We need to show TLG the sets we really want.

The Lego designer posted as much in the Nexo Knights thread.

Or the armor is anchored into the torso with arm pins. It looks flexible enough for that.

Merlok's library may not be a literal library. Maybe it is where his program is stored, and the knights have to protect it or he'll be lost forever. Merlok is an AI.

M:tG will never happen in Lego, same with FR and D&D. Hasbro (parent company of Wizards of the Coast) has Kre-O. I've held some in my hands, and they are awful. Megabloks are better, and that's saying something. I have two huge books on my shelf that are great fodder for ideas: one is titled Mythology and the other is titled Ancient Civilizations.

When it comes to Romans vs Celts, the Romans were the bad guys; conquest and supplanting the culture. I would think a line of Classical Tales would be best, and wouldn't step on Nexo Knights territory. The Labors of Herakles, Jason and the Argonauts, Icarus, Caesar, Attila the Hun, Boudicca, Beowulf, and a host of other legendary and historical figures. These would include lots of wooded areas and ancient buildings. Many of the needed parts have already come through CMFs.

Lego Minifigures Series 15 Guessing Game

I build in fits and starts mostly. Right now my building space is filled with my messily dismantled embassy build. I usually have several projects in the works (currently three), and often have a few more future stories rattling around in my head. For posting builds, I try to give myself a full day to craft the story and arrange all the pics.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I have that original Squidward head. I've used it to good effect. I also have used minidoll heads and parts as decorations in a couple of my builds. I still think this upcoming series will focus on the core cartoon characters, particularly the ones that appear on Disney Channel. I believe Disney owns the rights to the long leg molds, so we could see a return of those here (like the POTC baldric showed up in Lone Ranger).- 4,155 replies

It is entirely possible that Merlok 2.0 could be a trans figure, as TLG has had some success with making those lately. Or he could simply be a sticker on a trans part. We'll just have to wait and see.

I believe it has more to do with having the existing material, including games, kept available while the new theme is being rolled out.

Chicken? Did the designers sneak in a Monty Python reference?

I just realized that those little lava monsters can have hair and helmets. Just remove the ears/horns.

There is a new piece that wasn't in the reveal, but in the prelims that we can't (by site rules) post here. The new windshield piece has the same angle as the new wedge piece.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I made time today to work on Quest for the Egg Part 4. I have it about 60% done. It's 32x48 with some overhang. The story may take me some time to craft, but it shouldn't be as verbose as some of my other ones. -
This theme gives me stuff for my GOH, and also makes me want to get some sci-fi builds done. Those Fortrex pieces make me think of some space habitats. So many ideas.
-
Fortrex has rubber stud pieces! Or possibly technic half-pegs?!
-
Robin's armor doesn't have the orange on the shoulders. That may mean that the others may have printed shoulders rather than trans. That would be helpful to those who have no problem with removing Lego printing.
-
No, Extremis. Looks like I was wrong on the crossbow. The ToyArk image shows it to be two of the current standard pulse guns added to a new spring launcher (or something similar).

So many new parts! Please let these be in the next LDD update!
-
That skeleton arm bar piece in a new color, finally!

About NYCC; it is likely that the big reveal there will be Dr. Who, as the Lego, Lego Ideas, and Dr. Who Facebook pages have an image of the TARDIS in Lego, and include the phrase "Landing soon..." For Nexo Knights; as this is a completely new TV show, along with the sets, there may be something with Cartoon Network, but I doubt NYCC is the proper venue. Catalog ads and a commercial campaign is more likely. TV show promos could start some time in November.
