  1. For me, most of the figures that were shown on the bag already have turned out to be more awesome, especially the Ice Queen and Imp. They have some great accessories (i.e. black trident, cool capes)! Nice surprises are the Hiker and the Spy, but I have to see better images for my final opinion. Anyway, this is a very solid series! Edit: Quite some repeating motifs in this series: 5 figs are black for the most part 3 figs wear a costume 3 figs for cold environments 2 penguins
  2. I did, but it's most likely a sticker, which doesn't do much to me. Anyone else think that 5004391: Sky Pirates Battle is going to be the promotion for August?
  3. Wow, looks fantastic!
  4. Giving Sauron at SDCC is like.. so evil! Fits his character, though.
  5. Many thanks for sharing! It took me WAY too long to figure out that it is actually the alphabet, a few special signs, then in capitol letters and then the numbers. This gives our ninja the following letters: Kai: i/I (mirrored top-bottom) Cole: D (mirrored left-right) Zane: w/W (mirrored left-right) Jay: y/Y Lloyd: l/L (mirrored left-right) Nya: h (mirrored left-right) Skylor: k/K (turned 90 degrees clockwise), though this is far-fetched. Anyway: enough symbols left for other elemental masters, I'd like the O on the 2012 hood... Does anyone know when the army pack officially releases?
  6. Wow, great action shots! Awesome aircraft and neat fig-MOCing on Thrugg in particular. The flying seagulls are a nice touch, too!
  7. A warm welcome, Arcturus, to the Guild of Nocturnus! Great to have you here! I am impressed with how familiar you seem to be with the history of the Guilds, also with your quality of writing. University of Petraea is open to everyone and also relatively active, feel free to participate. Currently, no challenges or contests are happening in Nocturnus, but that can be seen as a time for freebuilds and development of your character(s). However, a civil war within our Guild seems to be drawing closer... Anyway, I'm looking forward to your contributions!
  8. Hi, I see you are new on this forum, welcome! This thread is about the discussion of the service "Bricks & Pieces" on the Shop@Home site.
  9. I think there will be some set reveals, like a The Lego Batman Movie set, a SW Rogue one set and hopefully some teaser material for The Lego Ninjago Movie.
  10. Cool set, I will certainly try to get this one! To the classic castle fans out here:
  11. Well, occasionally I see a MegaBlocks review on Jangbricks' channel, but I never watched one, since that goes against my principles . I have seen some D2C-like sets, so I assume there must be an AFOMB community, residing somewhere in the dark and violent corners of the web...
  12. Interesting concept, thanks for sharing!
  13. So, now that the heat of the moment has subsided, I will give more elaborate thoughts on the recent releases: Airjitzu Battle Grounds is a great set! The buildings are pretty neat, could have been a little better, but that's hard to achieve with the same number of parts, I guess. Speaking of parts, the buildings consist of many non-specialized bricks in useful colours and also the technic builds perfectly match the coulour scheme, yay! Notable new parts are 1x1 round tile in black, modified 1x1 plate with rounded corners and bar end, 2x2 round tiles with signature symbol prints! The play feature with the sliding stairs and the Airjitzu-spinner-battle-launcher-system both look like fun (can't figure out the use of the tires, though). And then the real deal here: the figures! I am very glad Sensei Yang is included (despite not having the lantern), he's a great figure and the most appropriate baddie, since this is about Airjitzu. Getting two of his students was completely unexpected, and man... they're sooo great! I think they are stone statues which turn into ghosts, anyway: I'm really digging the look, light bley old school ninja hoods rock! And finally, Lloyd and Nya in NRG Airjitzu variants... Oddly, I hadn't expected TLG to produce those, but they did such a fantastic job. Just look at Nya; the Water phoenix motif is superb, plus the colour combo is awesome... so is that dark red hood.. and so is the face with the yellow eyes.. just WOW!! Lloyd is a bit less spectacular, but he's awesome too! Then, the battle pack: they're really spoiling us, aren't they? Again, Nya is terrific!!! It's great to see that Zane gets a (yellow!) battle damaged face, which is presumably new, I missed out on that one from rebooted. I'm not really fond of his torso print, I would have preferred not to have his core exposed, but that's a minor issue. I'm really looking forward to adding those Skybound pirates to my collection, great exclusive torso prints and I really love the recoloured head gear! Overall: Bravo, Ninjago Design Team!!! I'll be spending €200+ this summer! Not in any of the summer sets. If there is another wave for RotV in winter, then I expect Samukai, Morro and the Overlord to return, as well as the throwback ninja in cheaper sets.
  14. That's good, I like the new purple scar, for example. The red dots on the laser eye look off, though, but I guess they'll fix that. Thanks for the heads up!
  15. The party store is such a happy place! The chocolate fountain is very neat! Meanwhile, the performance school is appropriately.. eh.. modest? The exterior has good detailing and a serious/elegant look, but the interior is just too dull imo, except for the top floor. The hairpiece recoloured in black is fantastic, though!
  16. I will be awaiting your return! As for my story, I have two small-medium sized builds planned, but I have very limited time to work them out in the coming two weeks.
  17. Makes very much sense. The Knights are the strong, who have to protect the weak/everyday people, their towns and properties, with their Nexo powers and vehicles. Those are just (replaceable) means of protecting, but there are hardly any structures to protect. Only the Fortrex, Merlok's Library and the Volcano Lair could be regarded as said structures. The only "civilians" we have got are members of of the royal family...
  18. nope! And I'll be definitely using that to have a Zukin yellow skinned Zane stripped of the metallic bits, basically a grey ninja. So glad with the fig selection!!
  19. I can only agree with comments above; this is absolutely flipping fantastically amazingly outrageously stunningly - quite expectedly - INCREDIBLE!!!
  20. Where's my tag?!

  21. More proof that you mastered the art of snowscaping to a point of perfection, which is also the word I would use to describe the balance between studs and tiles in this builds (most of your other ones too, btw). Fantastic, appropriate and realistic architecture! Plus, I have a soft spot for goods in crates, racks, barrels and chests; great work on the interior as well! Keep up the awesome work! I can relate with that!
  22. Just saw the official additional pics on brickset. The lava suit guy is pretty darn cool, but really too bad he's in such expensive sets. The heavy lift copter is cool with the installation hooked up, but those two things separately are underwhelming. The volcano in the exploration base set is quite alright if you ask me, but they should have added some wedge plates to make it irregular at it's base. It's really a shame that the Volcano line lacks a real base camp, with tents and/or a fixed building. Besides that, volcanoes come in more colours than grey, in more shapes than cones and spew materials other than lava. Sure, lava is the most exciting, but every set in this line is about drilling lava boulders. A mud volcano in dark tan, a geyser with a small hydrothermal installation, a volcanic field with lava streams or a shield volcano with a few tourists; all possibilities for a theme based around volcanoes.
  23. 1: as in 'the re-use of the CS logo and colour scheme for the theme', or like 'simple and diverse spacecraft, not attached to a story of any kind'? 2: I can't really see how this would look. A regular castle theme like Kingdoms, but with Falcons and Fright Knights? That'd be nice, imo. 10: Some time ago in this thread, I ranted that something like this could be a sub-catagory of Creator, with two sets a year in the €50+ range, for example. 3, 4: Once again, I don't quite get the concept, but I do think it would be nice to have regular (not modular) buildings that are more architecturally inspiring. I don't think it could be marketed as a whole theme, but a City Aquarium set could work, I think. Haha, no you are certainly not the only one who said this! Romans and Greek mythology prove to be very popular here, but maybe it's too much of a risk to release a theme on this? It would be very nice to have a theme like that around.
  24. Robin looks great in black and gunmetal!
  25. It's really a shame that the Skybound army pack hasn't been sighted again, I'm sooo looking forward to good pictures of that one! Just a few more weeks until the first reviews are there... Something I recently noticed: the 'two on one side' katana holder allowes the blades to be slided in (from above) in whichever way you prefer; the blade tips will never get in each other's way. This is due to a very subtle angle that each blade slot has, quite elegant and clever solution, in my opinion.
