  1. This guy stole a bunch of Solde's videos of his engines. +14000 views
  2. Very interesting car, it is looking great so far . I do like the green interior
  3. I have a question regarding camera focus. On my old compact (~2008) and action cameras the object one photographs is always in focus no matter what . But , with the camera I'm using now - Canon EOS 70D- it only focuses on one part, so the background and foreground aren't focused together . I've read somewhere that it is due to aperture time, but the explanation was too complex to understand , so my question : Is it possible to focus on the whole area at once to get clear photos, and if so , how? Example shot with the problem described, as you can see the back of the car is out of focus:
  4. @legotechnicisawesome Please use forum's emoticons. At the scale of your car, front and rear suspension is also possible , even without specialised parts.
  5. Very nice build , but because it is so light , it is better to have the HOG on the rear. Sorry, I don't have much yellow Mini vehicle by Didumos69 by Alaxaf, on Flickr
  6. C'mon lego, you can include color vomit axles but can't include 2 freakin red 44809 for the cabin?!?!?!
  7. Well , now they use any length axles in yellow & red instead of neutral grey & black. even with 1:1 scale image down on the page Maybe nowadays kids are too spoiled with smartphones and internet to notice 1 stud difference between axles
  8. If you want to start with your own motorizing ideas - go for 8293, it is a great strater pack If you would like a huge RC set that you could play with - 42030 is the way If you would like a small motorized set - imho 8052 is the best if you can buy one on bricklink, there are some great alternative models you could build out there Remember that one always can buy some separate PF parts on bricklink
  9. @Jim There's a poll on an info card in the video, althought he didn't say anything here... @LEGO ADAM It would be nice if you could post some photos here to see what could be changed to make it look more like a McLaren or a Corvette
  10. If you knew from the start that you don't have enought parts why did you pick such a large scale project? You should use more flex axles to archieve the fluid look of the McLaren
  11. 1. I see you used an illegal connection on front (angled liftarms) what makes that part of chassis to flex up. better find another solution , like making offset between top wishbone and lover wishbone. (so both aren't on same vertical axis) - see video below- 2. You steering links aren't pararell to the suspension wishbones , what will cause toe-in. -see video below- 3. Rotate the rear hubs 90 degrees (so the pinholes are on horizontal axis) , that will make for much stiffer axle I recommend you to watch Nicjasno's LPEpower series
  12. Such small scale and so many functions ... the winch solution is impressive I'm sorry to be that guy , but the color vomit The frictionless axle with pin are available in light gray and black, both 3l pins and axle+pin with friction are available in black, 3l axle with stop and stud is available in DBG , the half bevel 12t gear is available in black ... sorry ,but imho it would make the truck look MUCH better and less "messy"
  13. Unfortunately it requires more than my laptop can give, the page freezes completely while loading and then it runs at barely 2fps.
  14. @Marxpek Well, it lasts quite a lot , I used it in my Formula Future and hadn't had to stop because of overheating ( roughly 20 mins of filming) The battery box hacking is mentioned in description.
  15. After this thread everyrthing now makes sense. I tried usig buggy motor in a MOC with this battery box, but it shortened out too fast. The protection element is quite sensitive (or maybe my battery is too much) so I would remove it , since it is very easy to do , you just need a small flathead screwdriver for pulling out two small tabs and metal parts. @TechnicSummse If I were you I would remove the protection element . From what I guess you want to use it in a RC model? @Marxpek Unfortuately I don't own the XL or L motors
  16. The bateery doesn't seem to care at all, but the buggy motor got hot. The wire is one of last ones produced , after they changed the rubber on them to a glossy type (mine comes from 2006), no texture or temperature changes after tests English is neither my native language @Marxpek Will do more tests , I just thought that old 9V lightbulbs take big quantity of current. And yes , the battery itself has protection EDIT: Oh My gosh.... Just tested it , the buggy motor protection kicked in after being loaded and the rest of motors increased their speed !!!! And the battery didn't care at all!
  17. @Marxpek Just did it, put some lights on the battery box for proof , uploading video. Yes , I cheated the protection already Sorry for sound, but my phone's microphone doesn't work
  18. I have no idea about discharge rate of these, but I'll build a MOC with them for test. For now, I tried stalling the fast output of a buggy motor withoput success, it just kept slowly rotating The only thing I accomplished is to burn myself ...
  19. Hop[efully these will be useful. As far as I can see the protection can be removed without soldering. (click to enlarge photos) IMG_8715 by Alaxaf, on Flickr IMG_8717 by Alaxaf, on Flickr IMG_8714 by Alaxaf, on Flickr Do I have NASA's 9v batteries or something?
  20. There is no circuit. it is just ON / OFF , nothing else. I've dissasembled one because it was second hand and got some corrosion , and there are simply some metal parts bending when you press the button and nothing regarding protection. Nevermind, it looks like it has some , but can't tell what it is , will post a photo, in case someone knows about electronics... It is a weird circle between the contacts, it seems to be multi-layered. Sorry for picture quality, tomorrow better photos. look at the left wall , between metal parts:
  21. I was lucky my parents bought me some technic sets before the color change so I have enough black ones for mocs, but now I have an entire box full of blue 3l pins that I never use . Too bad lego didn't release 5l axles with stop in DBG or black
  22. Thermal protection will kick in before you can damage your motor like that, but unless it is a limited space solution I would gear it down for being safe with crappy servos
  23. Many thanks Great to hear that it is fun Unfortunately if the ground is uneven the front does scrape; I guess the technic plate is a bit worn off , because mine are still there. I routed my wires this way: And btw, belly shot:
  24. Interesting rules , surely very unique contest Those functions don't help with driving, they activate a mechanism that boosts the car
